Yeah, pretty much! I'm in the middle of getting some long-standing pics done and dusted which should come along soon~ Some of them I'm excited to share since Ive been sitting on them for ages.

Other than that It'll be more drawings of big things as well as some regular stuff too every now and then. I can't wait to draw and share them!

Hey lovelies, how's life?

It's been a hot minute since I've talked about myself in one of these journals. While I don't like to bring my own life's drama into things it's probably about time for my own wellbeing. To be honest I've had multiple attempts at writing up a journal since the beginning of the year and I've either scrapped them or only planned them out in my head. I'll try and keep it as concise as I can and I'll likely miss some thoughts I've had but whatever.

So uh, first thing is that the last 18 months have been crazy for me. I've had myself and the team I work with bust our asses for over a year to integrate the business with a new owner only for that company to flush the hard work and effort we had built up for the last 5 years down the toilet. It's gone from a demanding yet satisfying job to a tedious and unfulfilling job. If it wasn't for the fact that I work with some amazing people I would have left ages ago. We're now in the middle of switching owners yet again so either things will improve or I'll look for another job down the line.

In addition to that I've ended up losing some close friends over the year. Some we've had fights for whatever reason, some just drifted apart naturally in life. Either way I'd be lying if I said it hadn't had an effect on my state of mind, even if new friendships arise. It doesn't help that I've been slowly moving away from playing a particular game I've loved for years which in turn means I don't talk to the friends I know through the game as much. I've been going through cycles where I lose sleep, feel like absolute ass, lose motivation to do things, slowly regain that sleep only to lose it again and repeat the process again.

Despite that I've been trying to make some changes in my life for the better, and it's not all doom and gloom. I mentioned in a journal ages ago that I had started some healthy habits and I can now happily say that even if it hasn't been a straightforward process I've lost 30kg in total since I started and that I'm at a weight and waist circumference considered healthy by health organizations. I'm now trying to build muscle and work on improving my cycling endurance and times however they're requiring more time and effort that I'm currently putting in. I've also been trying some photography while I go hiking, although I'm quite new and still learning. Lastly I've been trying to open up a bit more with people in the furry community and make new friends where previously I kept a certain distance. I've met some amazing people that I probably could have met earlier, so I'm hoping to continue to slowly open up and talk to more people in time.

So why are you telling us all this? Well, at the end of the day the more I have going on in my life the harder it is to fit time in for drawing or even just enjoying the furry community. When I made an account of FA over ten years ago I purely wanted to draw round and large characters. I didn't really want my own fursona or character, I simply made one to fit in. In fact I was afraid that if I made one I'd become delusional and start thinking I *was* that character which is silly in hindsight. Now after all this time I've grown quite attached to my big, green Derg. I'm slowly eroding this barrier in my head I've had when I was a teenager that I cannot enjoy my character or anything related to furry culture out of it being shameful. I'm enjoying the process of fleshing out a world around him in both regular situations and ones involving growth of some kind and I really want to draw some of the world-building ideas I've got.

But before I do any of that I need some time to reset myself and establish a routine again to work on the art I owe plus the backlog of ideas I have. In order to do that I'm taking a bit of a break from uploads. Honestly this probably won't even look like a break as my upload schedule has been sparse but this helps me "shelve" the idea in my head that as an artist I should be uploading more art and more consistently otherwise I'm letting people down or I'm a failure of a content creator. There's more reasons too but for simplicity sake I've learned that I'm happier when I'm making things and I'm miserable when I'm obsessing over things. I've been doing more of the latter than the former, so lets change that.

The break probably wont be longer than a month or two but when I get back I'd like to explore series again (Think the charizard one I did) as well as do weekly uploads of just, whatever. Get back into doing suggestions and such.

I hope this is succinct enough. I'm flying out in a few hours on the first holiday I've had in years and my head is all over the place. I should mention that this won't be the end of me drawing inflation, fat or growth related things, there will be plenty more coming.

I know this sentiment gets repeated ad nauseum in almost every social media space but thank you to anyone who takes even the slightest bit of interest in myself and my art as well. It dawns on me every now and then that over two thousand people follow this account, and I think "God damn, I'm lucky to have that much interest in my silly balloon and blob characters." I look forward to making more, and making them bigger. And wider.

Despite my initial thoughts I'm actually going to be choosing the slots I want myself this time. I gave it a bit more thought after the last journal and I don't think my concerns will be as bad as I think they will be. (Thank you to the people who provided feedback!) With that being said:

This will NOT be first-come-first-serve. People can fill out the provided form with details on what they would like commissioned and I will choose the slots myself. I'll be choosing between 3-5 slots depending on the responses I get

But what if I don't get chosen? Does that mean you won't choose me in future commission slots?

No, not necessarily. I'll be keeping all the responses and will be giving more consideration to those who miss out this time for future slots. It's not a guarantee that you'll be chosen next time, but as long as it's an idea within a broad scope of what I usually draw there's a good chance I'll eventually choose it. I don't imagine I'll be getting swamped with too many suggestions either.

So sometime in the not-too-distant future I'll be opening up some limited commission slots, but I'm curious this time rather than simply giving the slots to whoever happens to post first to try a raffle or lottery system where people can register for a slot within a certain time frame and the slots will be given out at random to whoever is lucky enough to be drawn.

The upside to this is that everyone gets a chance at a slot without worrying about timezones or needing to be online at the specific time I open up commissions. The downside is that depending on how many people show their interest the chances of being chosen might not be too high. Tbh I doubt that's going to be an issue and I'm more inclined to try this raffle system since I think it would give everyone a better chance and being chosen overall.

Before committing to anything though I wouldn't mind seeing people's opinions. Perhaps there's something I haven't thought of yet.

You know why I'm asking. Let's see which one has the...biggest appreciation.

I'm not sure when but sometime over the last few days I reached 2000 watchers here on FA. It's crazy to me that this little art project has been slowly growing and that so many people are interested in following what I do, so thank you! I don't think I would have continued to make art if it wasn't for people's support and I'd like to show my appreciation by offering two people a painting of their choice!

Getting back into the swing of doing commissions on the regular. For the time being there won't be that many spots *but* I'll have more waves of commissions open up sooner. I may even stretch the number of commissions if there's enough interest.

So...we're currently in March, just under a year before I posted the last sort of update for this account. I've just finished reading back on what I had planned for 2020 and a lot of the sentiment since then hasn't changed. What I couldn't anticipate was how impactful 2020 was going to be on myself.

I don't think I need to go into detail about how strenuous the pandemic has been to say the least. Suffice to say that the level of isolation caused by the pandemic has lead me to do some self reflection in the last six months. The positive from this is that I've learnt more about myself and have started towards some small everyday changes in my life. Small changes like cooking and eating more healthier things, exercising a bit more, focusing on better sleep habits, less time on social media etc.

It's slow progress but it's working. I'm not as grumpy or tired in my week, I've lost about 5kg and I'm now working on building muscle, I can focus more on things during the day and just generally feel better about myself. These are things I'd like to keep up for myself and continue to improve.

While I continue to work these things into my everyday life some larger projects I had planned might need to be forgone until I feel confident I can complete them properly. Specifically the deer and tiger inflation series I had planned 10 months ago as well as an unnamed pokemon inflation series. The upside is that the more I streamline my daily routine it should open up more time for me to focus on artwork that's simpler but uploaded more often including some YHC's, commissions, community input art and the odd stuff I'd just like to draw myself.

Lastly regarding Twitter, while I'll still be checking it often enough I wont be uploading any of my artwork there that isn't SFW. While I don't personally have an issue with the content I make, I don't believe Twitter has adequate prevention from minors or people who aren't interested in what I draw from seeing it. I can understand it would be inappropriate to come across some content on such a large scale platform like Twitter and I can respect that, so henceforth It'll be strictly updates and the small amount of SFW art I draw. I don't have that many followers nor am I that active on Twitter anyway so I doubt this is affecting most people. (Or anyone at all really).

TLDR; Working on myself before I work on more art. Art won't stop but will be simpler and (hopefully) more frequent.

Just getting a bit of feedback on what people would like to see for an idea Im working on. No specific details on it just yet other than they’ll be male and be getting big.

EDIT: It seems to be pretty even between the two species. I've actually come up with a change to the idea that would have both involved, so instead I'll change this to deciding which one gets bigger than the other.

I have a decent structure of what routine I'd like to maintain with uploads here. Weekly (Short term) goals I'd like to have a community voted Pokemon that's inflated or fattened in some way since pokemon seem to be the highest liked content in my gallery, and thus seems the best way I can draw something that most people who watch me will enjoy. Bi-Weekly (Short to mid term) goals I'd probably have some of my own ideas that don't take too long to upload drawn and finished but I haven't decided what exactly I'll be drawing, how I'll handle this or if they'll even be my ideas at all. My long term goals are of detailed series or comics that will just come out when they're ready since it's better to have them come out as a surprise as opposed to being hyped for something that might change over time/be delayed/not come out at all.

Buuut that brings me to what I'd like to ask. What do you want to see here? To be more specific, there's two main questions I'd like to know.

I'd like to know if continuing to have something pokemon themed each week from now on that people vote on is what you would like to see, or perhaps something else? Would you prefer if I maybe swapped the voting to different species and I draw something relating to them? (E.g. maybe a cow one week then a giraffe or an otter inflated/fattened etc) Perhaps a mixture of both or something completely different?

Secondly, if there's anything you feel I excel at or would like to see in general let me know. I can't guarantee I'll take every idea on board but it does help to shape drawings I'm doing when I haven't got a clear direction I want to take them.

Hoo boy does time fly. I've had the structure of this journal planned since the beginning of the year and I've changed and re-written it in my mind for a while now. At the risk of this turning into a personal D&M I'll try and keep this as concise as possible.

I don't want to put myself in situations where I don't draw or upload anything for months again. It does no one favors. There's a lot of reasons that affect upload droughts over the last months and years but I'll address one aspect for now. One of the things that has affected the amount of art I produce is the mentality that I bring to the furry culture/community and subsequently the art I draw alongside it. When I was younger I viewed drawing as a bit of a hobby and didn't take it too serious. I've always tried to maintain a certain distance with how much I associate myself with anything furry related especially when it involved fetish related material. (Who wouldn't when you're young and insecure) Like with any hobby, there's a need to balance the amount of time and effort you put into it with everything else that's important in life which is something I grew to learn and put into practice. Pretty standard adult stuff.

Fast forward ten years since I made my account on FA and I realize that drawing has become a significant part of my life. People ask me what I do and I have to leave out every time that I was practicing a certain pose or that I was proud of how a drawing came out because of the nature of what I draw. I've never thought of myself as an artist nor have I considered myself a furry yet I've been drawing furry related things for ten years. There's a lot to unpack with the 'furry' label and while I still don't consider myself one in a traditional sense, I may as well say I am as well as build my skills drawing as much as possible.

That leads me into what I'll be doing from now on. One thing I'd like to do is get better and drawing more things than just fat and round animals, which means some things I upload will be more traditional furry art. I'll be drawing non-furry art too but that won't likely be uploaded here. Inflated and fat stuff is still going to be the bread and butter of what gets posted, it'll just be...*ahem*...expanded on.

That brings me to involving myself with other people here and vise versa. Each week I'd like to draw something with input from people. At this stage I'll be reviving the weekly pokemon inflation poll that I did a few times in the past but this may change to other things depending on how things turn out. These will be short things done over the week that might not be perfect but should still be decent and fun. Alongside these will be stuff I draw that I feel are worth uploading, possibly slightly tied in with what happens in my life. I'll also have long-term projects that I won't discuss until they're done. They'll just be a nice surprise when they're uploaded.

Additionally I'll be setting up a twitter account and posting little updates and whatnot once I'm finally happy with how the banner looks. (Which will probably be never but I'll sort something out)

So yeah, hopefully no more long periods where it looks like I disappear. Less forced expectations on myself, more discipline with what I'd like to achieve and more involvement with people.
