Rest in Peace - Skyder
Posted 5 years agoThis is something that I never thought I would have to write, and it's been something that has been incredibly hard for me to do. But as I'm sure most of you are aware 
blazewing117 passed away on Monday the 2nd of March 2020. He had been suffering for a while with terminal brain cancer.
It was discovered early last year when me and my partner
toothless-nightfury got home and found him in his room passed out. He was taken in an ambulance after having a seizure which is when we found out the news as to what was causing it. He was always an incredibly strong fighter, and we really thought that we had longer and the treatments that he was undergoing were helping. Sadly this was not the case, and he lost his battle on Monday the 2nd of March.
He has left behind an empty place in everyones hearts of those that knew him, and to his family and especially his girlfiend
pyeklet things will never be quite the same and I have a few words I would like to say to honour is memory.
I remember the first time that I really got to know Aaron, or Skyder. It was New Years Eve 2016 at a friends party. Everyone had started drinking, and what I saw was the most horrendous game I have ever seen. Drinking Roulette, mixed with UNO, what could go wrong?
Well… apparently lots of things could. I was holding his hair back while he was trying to hold back his lunch. Straight away, I knew that this was someone who I knew I could be friends with. Over the next few years, we became closer and closer as friends and eventually became house mates.
We always encouraged each other to make great decisions (or bad depending on who you ask!) but, we were always there for each other. We would always pick on each other, but he always had my back and I always had his.
As time went on, Aaron became more than a friend to me. He was like a brother, someone I could trust with everything. He was there for me when I was at my worst, and helped me pick things up when I fell flat on my face. Even when things went to utter crap, his positivity would always make bad things just seem to fly away.
The last year, seeing everything he went through, has been some of the hardest things I have ever seen. Finding him the night that we discovered something wrong was the most terrifying thing I have ever experienced, but I am so glad we were given a second chance to have a little more time with Him.
He was so brave, and always had other peoples feelings put even before his own. He’s one of the most selfless, and caring people I have ever had the honour of knowing.
But now he’s flying free, and no longer suffering. But he will always be looking down at us from the clouds above.

Crappy start to 2014
Posted 12 years agoSo... after having my last 3 shifts either cancelled or shortened down at work... to finding out i'm no longer on any rosters at all it's now been made official that my job has been terminated.
I've just come off centrelink finally because i've been earning enough money so I am now stuck waiting 12 weeks before I can get any sort of payment from them. It means as of next week I won't have mobile phone access and likely in a few weeks time I won't be able to afford to pay rent... it leaves me in a very bad spot financially.
So sadly, any conventions etc are off the cards for 2014. This includes FurDU, RivFur, FurJAM etc... no idea what i'm going to do about my fur suit yet... i've paid off $300 of it, but still owing $400 on it but I can't keep the suit maker holding onto it for too long as it's just not fair on her.
Seriously, I thought the start of 2013 was shit... but 2014 is already shitting all over it!

I need some advice...
Posted 12 years agoSo, I need some advice on what to do. In my current job, I'm really not happy with so many things the company is doing right down to the way they treat staff. I know it's a job and everything, but every time I go into work I always feel like I've done something wrong etc.
Recently a very good job opportunity has come up, that i'm interviewing for on Tuesday. Work has found out due to them calling for a reference. My shift today was then cancelled and the rosters changed from the online ones (Got no shifts next week at all apparently)
I've also had several staff members tell me that they overheard my supervisor saying my shifts were cut because I was looking for a new job. Do you really think that's right? I mean, my supervisors knew from day one that my heart was in the Tourism industry, and not in food service. It's where they initially hired me and then without warning they just swapped departments. I've since asked to be transferred back and they are downright refusing.
It's honestly doing my head in to be honest, and I really don't know what to do... I've spoken to Centerlink and Sarina Russo about it, and they have advised me that if I was to resign my payments wouldn't be cut. I'm really at a loss as to what to do really... 2013... [WARNING: RANT AHEAD] - A inspirational message!
Posted 12 years agoSo... 2013 sure as hell has been an interesting year so far. If anything though it's taught me that no matter how dark things may seem... there is only one person that can pick up the pieces and make things better! YOU! A quick summary of things that have happened in 2013
January: Lost my job at Warner Bros. Movie World - "They found someone more suited to the role" This was the same job I had been doing for 2 years... no warnings, no safety breaches or anything.
February: Made my first appointment with Centerlink... something I was hoping i'd not have to do until I retired.
April: FurDU, shortly after I had a massive falling out with a very close friend of mine and caused some major issues for a while. This was when my downward spiral was nearing it's worst.
May: Got news of my grandfather becoming very ill, was hurting due to not being able to be with my family in this time of need. Later he passed away. This is when my downhill spiral got to it's worst and I started to drink excessively.
June: When I felt things had really hit rock bottom, I got an interview with Kingston Park Raceway. After hearing nothing back for a while including after a job trial I counted it as a loss and kept searching. Then out of the blue receiving a phone call stating that I was starting in amusements that weekend.
July: started to get close to my now ex boyfriend, transferred to the cafe to gain more hours and experience with the company. Things with my partner started to get a bit rocky... but come the end of the month for RivFur things were looking up for the relationship.
August: Spent a few weeks with my then partner staying down here, had a great time... even though there were some ups and down's to the relationship overall it was appearing strong. Plans for him to move down to Brisbane were going smoothly at this point in time. I was feeling great!
September: This month was a very strange month, got to go to FurJAM and spend time with friends and it was great... this was also when I noticed things in the relationship were going sour. I felt as though it was single sided, and that I was being manipulated and I decided to back away from the relationship before things got worse.
October: After a rocky end to the month, I started to pick up the pieces of what was a relationship and started to make amends with the people I hurt over the months. My career prospects are starting to look up again, and I have met someone who I can't quite describe it... I just feel as though there's a connection...almost a spark there and well... I am looking forward to having him up here for my birthday.
I know this is a huge rant, and if you read through it all that's great. But I guess I want everyone to take just one thing from this journal... No matter how dark things may get or seem, you can always pick yourself up off the ground. It may seem hard, but with the help of true friends that show their real colours through all these hard times anything is possible! Love you all!!

One of my best friends (well not friend really, more like brother) father is very sick with cancer and he's rapidly deteriorating. He lives 600 miles away and doesn't have a cent to get over there to see him. He's in desperate need to help. Please if you can afford to help in any way (even $5 will help out) it would really mean the world to me and him. it's hit me especially close to home as I lost my own grandfather less than a month ago and I wasn't able to see him.
