General | Posted 14 years agoSo it has been brought to our attention that many of you furs would like to have something organized.
Well, let us attempt something then. This will be for Friday and Saturday ONLY. We will meet up in the Food Court area around 7PMish, grab some foods if you have the money and hangout before going off to do something else later in the evening. We suspect we shouldn't be too hard to find, just look for the loud bunch of furries parked somewhere in the food court area. If that's not enough, we'll try and carry around our Buckeye Fur's Logo and maybe post it somewhere nearby us, if the con allows.

OSU Furs Project 2011

Ohayocon
General | Posted 14 years agoA bit of a late notice, however this isn't the first time, sadly.
Ohayocon, largest anime convention in the winter months is held here in Columbus, Ohio every year.
We do not have anything planned, such as a meet-up time or anything like that, but several of us plan to be down there Friday through Sunday of the con (Jan 27 - Jan 29).
If anyone wishes to set up a meet up time and place at the con, feel free to make arrangements here in this journal. Otherwise, we hope to see everyone there at some point in time.

Gallery Hop + Updates

We have yet to find another place to hold our monthly meets, so as stated before, monthly meets are suspended until further notice.
Gallery Hop:
For those of you who don't know, Gallery Hop is a monthly event held in downtown Columbus every first Saturday of the month. It is an event where local artists of all kinds come together on the streets and shops to display and sell their well used talents and exploits. This event usually draws out a wide variety of people which makes it prime pickings for fursuiters.
And with that, here are the details for this December's Gallery Hop
Date: Saturday, Dec. 3
Time: 9:00 PM to w/e
Location: North Stairs of North Market
Details:
We will meet on the north stairs of the North Market at 9:00 PM. We will depart around 9:15 to wait for anyone who is behind or wants to attend last minute.
Parking is available in the parking garage on the south side of the market for $5.00. Cheaper may be available at further locations.
Make sure to bring some water. Although it may be cold out, the air conditions are still dry and will dehydrate you just as bad.

General | Posted 14 years agoJust a quick little notice to all who attend the furmeets at the Buckeye Fur Den.
It has come to our attention that several of our neighbors have taken offense to our "behavoirs" and are on the vurge of having the Den evicted. So from now on, the monthly furmeets will have to be cancelled until we can find another suitable location. We have several offers on our plates, but so far, things are not panning out as soon as we would like. So we shall keep everyone posted during the whole proccess. Ideas are welcomed.

General | Posted 14 years agoJust a quick notice to anyone joining us for the Sunday Holloween/November Furmeet.
The parking location has been changed/altered sligtly. We will still meet up on Lane Ave and High St, however we were missinformed about guest parking allowances.
The new parking location for those without an Ohio State Parking Pass will be ON Curl Dr, and NOT IN THE PARKING LOT.
There are three guest parking locations along Curl Dr. One is right at the start of Curl Dr off of College Rd and Woodruff Ave, another one along High St (just after you come around the first left bend in the road), and the last just past Taylor Tower of the south (left) side of the road. Look for the BLUE guest parking signs and the pay meters along the sidewalks. Get there early to get a good spot and not miss out on all the fun!
If anyone has any questions, don't hessitate to call or text

Holloween/November Furmeet
General | Posted 14 years agoJust a little over a week away (sorry for the late posting) and here we go with our largest furmeet of the year. Last year's attendence stagered to 32 peeps. Our highest attendence level ever for any furmeet. This year, lets push that number to greater heights!
Okay, enough yammering, here's some details and below are your usual quick infos. So for this meet, we'll start out as normal. Meet up at the den around 7 PM. Hang out, relax and get to know one another and chat to those you haven't seen in a while or haven't seen ever before. Alcholic drinks are available but on limited supply, and only those of age will be served. Then around 9 PM, we suspect to gather everyone and get suited up. We'll travel down to the OSU Campus (our normal stomping grounds) around 10PMish. For those who wish to just join us for the fursuit walk may meet us on High St. and Lane Ave Intersection. Parking will be available but for a fee for those without a parking pass. Cannot recall exactly but we presume parking fee is $5 for 24 hours. Less for less time but unclear on how much. Anyway, one last little tidbit; This meet is being coupled with the November furmeet, so our regularly schedualed November meet will not be held this year on the 4th, but instead will be here on the 30th of October.
Now here is the quick info for you lazy furs who don't like to read too much (just joking).

It's 10 bucks to get in, and I don't know how much it costs for games/rides.
Keep in mind that fair food is expensive AND fattening.
And as much as I hate hate hate fursuits, they're more than welcome at the fair. Just bring plenty of water!

Directions: From 315, exit on Henderson Rd and head West. Make a left turn on Kenny Road. Go north on Kenny for a couple of blocks and make a right turn at the "Fox & Hounds" sign. Continue pass a speed-bump and make the first right turn. After which, make the second right turn and continue down Bridgway Cir and look for 1132 next to the stair cases. Will be the second to last staircase.
Parking is free but limited. You may have to walk from somewhere else in the community.

General | Posted 14 years agoWell, the BBQ was a big success with 24 in total attendees (26 if you wish to count Shi, Koinu's Husky, and the racoon that gave us a nice little visit), more than we were expecting so thank you everyone who showed up and made this meet spectacular. Pictures of this event, we suspect, shall be posted by and sometime soon.

What to bring:
sunscreen/sunblock, I've seen people get nasty sun brns from being out all day,
A few towels: you will get wet
a bathingsuit: boomerang bay waterpark is free with admission and a great way to cool down

This month's furmeet will take place in Blendon Wood Metro Park located just north of Easton shopping center. For directions and general information about the park, click this link.
We'll be expecting a large turnout as well as amazing and hot weather. Fursuits welcomed but we do advice a heat warning to suiters. There are water stations and bathrooms within the park.
So what's the plan? Well very simple; BBQ, furry style. Bring your friends bring some food and a smile on your face because we will show everyone how we love to party in the woods. Hamburges and hotdogs will be provided along with toppings. We ask that you please bring something to share with everyone else. And a note as well, if you plan on bringing soda or anything in a 2L bottle or that requires cups, please provide the cups as well.

A notice to everyone planning on attending as well, Ashaya, the guy who produced "Through a Fox's Eyes" will be attending and filming the event. If anyone wishes to not be shown in the documentary, please address him on a personal note.

Firstly, MARcon (Mulitple Alternative Realities Convention) is this coming weekend (May 27-29). A small handfull of us will be attending so if you wish to make our crowd larger, feel free to join us at any time.
Secondly, we have been getting a few questions about our June Furmeet. As of right now, details are still in the mix, however for what we do know, we will be moving it from its regularly schedualed day of Friday night to Saturday afternoon. We are also planning to move from the usual den space and head out to the woods, Blendon Woods to be more exact. We are expecting to get things going around 2 to 3 PM Saturday, June 4th. And the main focus is BBQ/Grill-out with furs 'n friends. Food, we are hoping, will be provided as well as urging others to bring a little something as well to share with others. We will also be coupling this event with the regurlarly schedualed fursuit bowling in Delaware. We shall plan to get things wrapped up around 7 PM and depart for Delaware for a night of bowling and fun.
Solid details about June 4th shall be posted within the coming week. So keep an eye out, and we are open to any suggestions you may have for the event. Questions, please do not hesitate to contact

General | Posted 14 years agoMay is approaching and that means it's time for more fursuits to destroy Delaware Lanes with their crazy antics. Curtosy of Lightpaws for starting this regular fur-event, the small staff of Delaware Lanes is happy to allow us into their lanes for some great times. The event has grown quite a bit in the past 3 months it's been going on, and we hope there will be even more who show. So let us spread the word and hope to see many of you fantastic furs there.
