Anime/Manga You MUST See!
General | Posted 16 years agoHere at
Otaku_on_FA, there are certain anime that are pretty much considered required viewing by its founder:
OtakuMan24. Some of these you may have heard of. A number of them you most likely haven't. But that's okay. We're going to regularly take a look at a wide variety of anime and manga here in great detail with links to where you can obtain said anime/manga, what they're about, what makes them so important, who made it, who's in it, and more!
As we go through each anime/manga, their entries will gradually be filled in here on this alphabetically sorted list. If it hasn't been covered yet, wait a while, and it will be. Also, all TV anime listed are either MORE than 26 episodes in length, OR they have a movie that goes beyond (or in between) the 26 episodes.
Anime names are given in their English translation/name (if one exists), followed by their original Japanese Name.THE LIST:UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!TV Anime

WHO'S THAT OTAKU, MON?! - 001
General | Posted 16 years agoIT'S
SHIZUKI!BIO: ***NOTE: All info here is from her profile. I'm not revealing anything she hasn't already made public.***
Age: 24
Gender:
female_furry
Lives in:
WashingtonStateFurs (Washington)
Nationality:
Furrypinos (Fillipino)
Considers themselves a Furry? (Y/N): No.One of my personal favorite artists,
Shizuki is one very familiar face here on FA. Her art style is cute, adorable, and very colorful. The color especially stands out as she uses a full rainbow in just about all of her works. She's very friendly, open to talking to people, and is quite easy going. But if you're a guy and want to get to know her, then you might also want to know that she does have a boyfriend! She and
Gouking have been together for a long time now, so no going out and hitting on her! She's taken fellas! :-PWhat's that? You love her artwork so much you want to commission her? Not a problem! She's open to commissions, BUT...
Make sure that you send all questions, character details, inquiries, and so on to her Commission Account at:
shizuworks"Don't make Shizuki angry. You wouldn't like her when she's angry!"Now at this point, you may be thinking, "Okay, so she's a great artist? What makes her Otaku material?"
To answer that, then look no further than our favorites section here at
otaku_on_FA. There you can see some of her fanart and cosplay drawings, specifically cosplay. In combination of her overall wonderful anime-style of drawing that she has more or less perfected, the outfits and costumes she draws are brilliant. Her pop idol outfit, and cosplay outfits for others are really something to look at. Clearly, she has the heart of an Otaku in every one of these pieces! She's also a very
CleanArtist as well, so her work is good for just about anyone of all ages. If you know of any ecchi work she has done, then it will certainly be news to me. Whether she draws ecchi or not... might need to ask her over at her commission account.AND THERE YOU HAVE IT!Our first look at an Otaku on FA folks should know about! Each week, we'll look at a different artist, writer, or all around uber Otaku here on FA so you folks can meet and greet and enjoy their works of Otaku fandom. Stay tuned as we spotlight more and more artists!
If you have a suggestion of someone you'd like to see, simply drop off a suggestion via PM! Who knows, they just might be next!
Next time, another Otaku is featured, and we create the FA Otaku BANZUKE! The board that lists all Otaku on FA who have been part of our "WHO'S THAT OTAKU, MON?!" segments.
Stay Tuned!

Welcome to Otaku On FA!
General | Posted 16 years agoWelcome to Otaku On FA! Home for all things Otaku... here on FA!
I've been thinking about making this group as early as...
...this morning.
But anyway, to business:
There are lots of folks on FA who are deep-down Otaku at heart. They love anime, they love manga, they love all things Japan. They wear the badge of Otaku proud with their convention T-shirt and backpacks with rolled up posters sticking out of them.
We are geeks, nerds, and often know more about Japan or other asian countries than we know about our own! But that's okay!
So if you're an Otaku, want to be an Otaku, curious as to what this Otaku stuff is all about, or for whatever reason, feel free to WATCH THIS GROUP!
So what might this group do in the future?
Well, here are some ideas in the works:
1) Organize and assist anime convention trips. Want to know who's going to <insert name of con here>? Need a roommate to help cover the cost of the room you booked? Trying to figure out how to get there? We'll help you out with all of that with individual journals devoted to each con all across the globe!
2) Think you're smart enough to take on the Otaku-Man and out best him in his Otaku Trivia Quizzes?! Then here's where you can prove your metal and show what you got! But be careful! Otaku-Man's friends with Ryan Omega, the writer of the Official Otaku Quiz Book!
3) Some anime and manga are REALLY popular outside of Japan. Gurren Lagann, Code Geass, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, etc. But what's popular in Japan? We'll take a look at the anime and manga that has never left Japanese shores, but are integral memories of the Japanese people. These are the shows that Japanese people can sing the theme song from if you asked them to, off the street. These are the ones that have had major events, ceremonies, funerals, and even statues built in their honor!
4) Sub vs. Dub? Pro-Weeaboo vs. Anti-Weeaboo? Manga vs. Manwha? Otaku fandom is not without it's many arguments, controversies, debates, and flame wars. Here and there we'll dive into our members' collective psyches and find out where you stand in these hotly debated topics and have at it to see whose reasoning reigns supreme!
5) Anime / Manga / Video Game Fan Art on FA! Some FA members are fantastic artists and love to draw fanart of their favorite anime / manga / video game characters. We'll take a look at who rocks here on FA and add them to our Ultimate Fan Art Banzuke! You can also find their works in our Favorites section!
6) So you want to learn Japanese? Straight from the English edition of Shonen Jump magazine, we'll take a look at specific kanji and words so you can gradually learn to speak, read, and write Japanese! From Hiragana to Kanji and beyond, these tips will help you get a start on learning how to communicate in Japanese!
And MORE!
These are just a few things that Otaku On FA will do, and as time progresses, we might just do more and more! So stay tuned and see what happens!
