A break from art? Maybe? Idfk.
Posted 2 years agoI think I might be taking a long break from art, or drawing in general; ever since I started taking commission's from 2013 to now I've felt my passion that I once had when I began has been dying. Atm I've got no drive to create anymore and I don't like anything I produce visually I just feel kinda stunted in general and I'm ngl I'm not totally sure how to fix this. If anyone DOES want a commission from me feel free to note me and ask considering there are somethings I do like drawing (ferals especially) and I still need to feed myself. :'D
I'm all ears for tips on severe burnout though, if anyone's gone through how I'm feeling right now and has advice on how to fall back in love with creating I'd seriously appreciate it otherwise I'm just gonna vibe for a good while and hope that not thinking about drawing does something good for my brain. Feral's are SFW only UNLESS It's a mythical animal and not something that exists IRL, but anthro's can be NSFW or SFW. :)

Emergency Commissions (please read)
Posted 3 years agoI don't know if people really read journals but I figured it doesn't hurt to try...
Came back from the vets today because one of my dogs was acting very out of normal and very uncomfortable/painful etc. and turns out he's got a good sized mass in his abdomen and were unsure rn if it's cancerous or not; I have yet to book the ultrasound to see if it's attached to his liver or is removable at all and then it'll probably be either explorative surgery or removal surgery.
Essentially I now need to come up with the funds for either surgery/ultrasound so I'm opening for emergency commissions!
If anyone's interested in helping a pup out hmu with a note on here and I'll get back to you ASAP. :)

Posted 7 years agoWhy do people get so edgy when another artist has finally "made it" within the community? I can admit to being jealous of the money they make, or the fan-base they gain from time to time but over all it mostly encourages me to do better, to try harder. But consistently I see people nagging on about "Oh this artist locks stuff behind a Patreon" Or "This artist charges WAY too much for xxx" Like???
Everyone's fast to preach that art is a valid job/career but the second someone actually makes it a career people begin to winge that it's not fair or that the artist is only charging x amount because of how popular they are. GOOD THEY SHOULD. Artists deserve to make a living wage! If you don't want to pay for a commission or sub to their Patreon then hey? Don't. Nobody is forcing your hand to even interact with said artist if you don't wish to do so. But don't turn around and get snarky about the fact that the artist is more successful, they worked for it. They earned it.
EVERYONE on this site has the potential to "make it big" you just have to want it bad enough. Those artists wanted it so they got it, and you can too. But don't be a dick to them just because they made the effort to make art their full time job.

I'm not one to ask for anything from people but I'd briefly like to explain why this journal is being posted.
My room mates have recently moved out of our current house, which is great because my partner and I have run of the house now! But now I'm trying to get my 2 Dogs here with me and pet deposits ain't cheap. The price for both of them together is $700 yikes I know so I need to begin pooling that sweet, sweet dough in order to pay for them to be with me. Now I know "But Rune, what does that have to do with me?" nothing. BUT If you'd potentially be interested in a purchasing an Adopt, a YCH or even a small commission from me it'd mean the world and would really help me out.
Nobody is obligated to spare their money for this cause by any means, I'm just posting this just in case someone wants to. <3

Does anyone else just kinda get down in the dumps when no one takes interest in your art? Like I know my art isn't bad or anything (I hope not xD) but it's like no matter what I offer, YCH's, Adopt's, PWYW, or even under priced commission's it's like I've got the Black plague or something. :'>

I've seen some people on here who have way more watchers than I do but they don't draw anything themselves, they just pay money to use bases to make money and it feels idk sleezy? You won't get any better at art if you don't actually do the line art yourself?
I guess it's my unpopular opinion but it tightens my knickers to see people who put vague effort into something they didn't make themselves and someone buys it for $$$$$ when one of my adopts I spent hours hand drawing doesn't find a home.
Rip I guess, better keep trying.

Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some advice on something that I really don't know what to do about... 5 months ago I bought an adopt from an artist and that adopt (once adopted) would have another picture drawn of it's adult form for free for the new owner. So I bought him and he had some "rare" attributes that I also liked, I don't really remember how much he was I don't believe it was above $20 though. Anyways, I contacted the maker and let them know I wanted him etc. etc. got him and everything was good, she said she'd start on the adult form soon...It's been a few months and I still have yet to receive the adult form from the artist...I've brought it up twice now to which they say "they moved" or "I'm really flooded right now" "I'm not at home" and it's getting really irritating given that I can see them completing other people's work before mine which should have been done way sooner, or at least been done before someone bought the adopt.
So now I don't really know what to do, the artist has been posting journals talking about how they are really sick/are going to the doctors all the time and I don't want to hound them about getting the work done but I'm honestly getting tired of waiting...They don't even note me often to let me know whats going on, any contact from the artist is from me asking only. :I
Help would be appreciated!
**EDIT: The said artist now posted a journal saying they got a job/and school and that commissions will be taking longer...

I'm hoping to raise --> $41.98 <-- For the new Slowpoke merch being released at the PokeCenter!
1. Non-colored sketches.
2. Non-colored/colored Busts.
3. Flat colored full body.
4. Colored and shaded Full body.
5. Multiple characters (2 maximum for now).
6. MAYBE Nsfw, It really depends on my comfort level.
✩I'm starting the price at: $5.00 but It can be raised to $6/$7.00 USD depending on the complexity of the character(s).
✩I also have the right to refuse anything I'm not comfortable with.
