Some of you know already that I've been out of work for a while, but recently I finally found a new full time position! The pay isn't as good as my old job, but it's still pretty decent.

I've still got some debts to pay off and savings to rebuild, but perhaps I'll be able to start buying some art again before too long, even if it's just a few cheap pieces at first :3

Really might be my favorite holiday, too bad were getting rained out here today (even if its desperately needed). Hope you all have a great safe and fun time!

Last night I was informed that one of my favorite relatives, an aunt of mine that used to take care of me as a baby, had passed away at the age of 90. She was a part of many of my earliest memories and will be greatly missed.

Then, this morning I was awoken to the panicked cry of "Jazzy is having a seizure!"

After bringing her to the ER, and then to her regular vet when they opened, the consensus was she in all likelihood had a brain tumor. There was a small chance that it was a blood clot, but either way it would cost thousands of dollars just to try to diagnose it further. Whatever the case, she had completely lost the use of her hind legs, and her mobility probably would not be returned even if they managed to diagnose and do something to treat her condition.

As a result, a few hours ago much to our pain and sadness we let her rest. She spent over an hour in our loving embrace being pet and purring despite being in the vets office while we waited for all her loved ones to gather. We think it likely that the paralysis had cut off the pain from her old hip injury, allowing her to spend her final hours mercifully free of pain. She passed quietly surrounded by those who loved her the most. She is survived by her adoptive brother Punkin, who tormented her as brothers do till her last night.

Jazzy was an amazingly sweet, gentle, and frail kitty, she had a strong and sassy, but deeply loving, personality. Though I myself only lived with her for about a year, I loved her with all my heart and spoiled her relentlessly... she was "daddy's little girl."

We plan to intern her ashes in a hollowed out rock with a memorial plaque. She will be placed in the back yard where she can visit with her feral friend Foster who always came to our screen to see her and explore the outdoors she was so fascinated with whenever she wants...

So I got laid off a while back, and I've been job hunting. The job I thought I had in the bag hasn't contacted me for a week, they might just be waiting till after the 4'th of July holiday but idk.

Also dealing with a plethora of health issues, which is resulting in a lot of trips to the endodontist and the doctor, including my first actual check up in like 15 years... yay health insurance severance package!

Anyway, been trying to keep up with at least the high priority day to day stuff on FA (such as notes), but I'm way behind on some other stuff... like almost 6k journals behind >.<

I think there's only like 1-2 people that read my journals anyway and they probably already know all this, but if your wondering why I've been slow on anything/less available life clobbered me lol

I just got home from downtown Santa Cruz, which attracts Halloween goers from hours away, great place to see lots of costumes if nothing else :3

Incidentally one of the most popular costumes this year were girls dressed as foxes just waiting for someone to ask "what sound does the fox make!?" Which conveniently included one completely topless girl x3

Being alone on a holiday like this is always a bit of a bummer, but at least I managed to find the energy to go out (after working late yet again), and many pics were had!
