Posted 7 years agoOverwatch is seeing some new events coming soon such as the Year of the dog Event as well as possibly the Uprising and Anniversary Event.
But one thing players can look forward to right now is the soon release of new maps such as BlizzardWorld and possibly new skins and items for loot box.
Now though there is talks from Kaplan himself who is game director about a new character coming in the future. As of right now they are calling him Hero 27. There is much talk yet on who this character might be but they do say this character is 'very much needed'

While I still love Overwatch, I no longer have the time to play much, or to manage this page. For now, this group is on hiatus.

Overwatch Double XP Weekend: June 8-12
Posted 8 years agoTo celebrate the first Overwatch Anniversary, all players who log in this weekend on PC, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One will receive double experience.
This bonus will apply to nearly all sources of in-game XP, including:
-Time spent in a match
-Completing a match
-Completing consecutive matches
-Winning a match
-Backfilling a match in progress
-Earning medals
It will also stack multiplicatively with existing group and IGR bonuses. The only experience it will not affect is your First Win of the Day bonus—which will remain at 1500 XP.

Overwatch: New Hero - Orisa, Bastion rebalance

"Your safety is my primary concern."Orisa, the re-purposed OR15 civil defence robot makes her way onto the battlefield! After Doomfist's attack at the Numbani international airport, eleven-year-old Efi Oladele - a brilliant girl whose early accomplishments in robotics and artificial intelligence have already earned her the Adawe Foundation's "genius grant" - salvaged and purchased the parts needed to create something better. She updated the OR15's software and firmware, installed a hand-made personality core, and upgraded her to an adaptive, real-time AI, dubbing her new creation 'Orisa', as all heroes need real name.
Orisa combines some of the best elements from numerous heroes;
Her primary fire - the Fusion Driver - functions similar to D.VA's primary in that it can lay down sustaining fire at the cost of movement speed.
Her Fortify ability behaves similarly to Ana's ultimate, making her immune to action-impairing effects and reducing damage taken for a short time. Mei mains, beware!
'HALT!' is a miniature version of Zarya's ultimate that travels like Symmetra's alt-fire; Orisa fires out a mini-graviton in a straight path that slows anyone caught in its range, and implodes to pull all those tethered to it into one spot. Countering bastions hiding in corners has never felt so good!
Orisa's Protective Barrier is a cross between Reinhardt and Winston's shield; It projects a forward-facing but stationary shield that allies can use as cover for a push. It's not as strong as Rein's, but it's going to be an important part of Orisa's kit.
And, last but most certainly not least, her ultimate; The Supercharger. This wonderful little device applies a damage boost - much like Mercy's - to all allies in her line of sight. Judging from her official hero page, it's going to have a pretty hefty maximum range!

Our main-man Jeff Kaplain has recently made a post stating his thoughts and opinions on the current state of the latest reworked hero; Bastion.
"I want to share my personal opinion on Bastion (which is dangerous because I know I am a spokesperson for the game). I play every night. I'm playing both Quick Play and Competitive (I played 2 games of CTF to get my loot box). Over the past few nights I've played with, as and against Bastion. My perception is that he is a little too powerful right now. "
So, please ignore the lunatic at Kotaku that claimed they were rolling back the Bastion changes. There's nothing confirmed yet, just some rebalancing in the PTR to see how it goes. Our favorite bird-loving robot isn't going back to the trash heap just yet.

Capture the Flag:
Capture the Flag is now in the Arcade with new versions of Nepal, Lijiang Tower, Ilios, and Oasis, which gives you 12 maps to try when creating a Custom Game.
Competitive Season 4:
-Players with a skill rating above 3000 will now need to complete at least seven games per week to prevent rating decay.
-Animated season spray/icon will only be awarded to players in the top 500 at the end of the season.
-A respawn time delay will activated when the attackers outnumber the defenders on a contested point. If the point hasn’t been captured and the defense hasn’t regained the advantage after a specified time, the defender respawn timer will slowly begin to increase until it hits a maximum value. If the defense manages to gain the upper hand, the timer resets to zero.

It's the most wonderful time of the year, and we hope you'll join us for some holiday cheer!
That's right—Overwatch is getting into the holiday spirit with a brand-new seasonal event. We’ve decked the halls of Hanamura and King’s Row, stuffed our Loot Boxes full of festive goodies, and arranged an extra-special snowball fight for you and your friends. So, grab a mug of hot cocoa, put on your favorite ugly sweater, and get ready to jingle all the way to Overwatch's Winter Wonderland!

Photon Shield
Replaced with the new Photon Barrier ability
Photon Barrier
Replaces her existing Photon Shield ability
Generates a large energy barrier in front of Symmetra that blocks enemy fire as it travels forward
Shield Generator (New Ultimate Ability)
Symmetra's Ultimate ability now offers a choice between her Teleporter and a new option: Shield Generator
Shield Generator places a device that grants additional shields to any ally within the its effective radius, regardless of barriers, walls, or obstacles between heroes and the Shield Generator
Photon Projector (Primary Fire)
Range has been increased from 5 meters to 7 meters
Sentry Turret
Number of turrets that can be carried has been increased from 3 turrets to 6 turrets
Cooldown has been reduced from 12 seconds to 10 seconds
Teleporter
Decreased health from 200 to 50
Increased shields from 0 to 350
Developer Comments: When looking into changes for Symmetra, we wanted to address two main issues: she didn't feel active enough, and she often felt weak in certain situations on different maps and game modes, due to her Teleporter.
To address the first point, we removed her more passive Photon Shield ability, and replaced it with a much more active ability: Photon Barrier. Now, Symmetra can help lead the charge on offense or help shut down a big push on defense by actively blocking damage for your team.
For the second point, we noticed players would often switch off of her when they felt like her Teleporter wasn't as useful. For example, when playing her on defense on an Assault map, players often only used her to defend the first capture point, then quickly changed if that point fell. To help her feel more useful in more situations, we've given her an alternate to her Teleporter. The Shield Generator is just as important for the enemy to deal with, but is useful in more situations than her Teleporter.
The turret changes allow her to rebuild her turret nests faster. Even if all her turrets are wiped out, it's now easier for players to build them all back up before the next push.
The last change increases the range on her Arc Welder to make it easier for her to build up and keep a powerful charge on her weapon.
