I'm alive and have a tablet once again if anyone didn't notice! Okay so I made a blog on tumblr https://mrgordusk.tumblr.com/ and I'm so confused. I feel old and not with it and barely understand Tumblr right now. <x3 anyone else running one? I checked in the settings that it would be an explicit blog, is that all you have to do before you submit those kinds of posts? Also I read something about explicit blogs not showing up in search results which I find really confusing, because why would you post at all if no one could ever find what you posted? Most importantly is there a significant audience for the kind of content you find around here on there? I really can't tell either way. Anyway ... I'm probably going to post things both here and there from now on just to experiment.

Remember my thinkpad? Yeah it's a paper weight now. I've tried EVERYTHING to get this bastard to turn on and nothing has worked. I even opened the shell and removed the non removable internal battery hoping MAYBE it would reset something like people on the forums were saying had worked for them. Useless.

It has this stupid tablet style power button on the side of it and one time in like twenty the power light gives me a single quick blink. The other nineteen times, nothing. I tried the hidden reset button on the back under the fans too. Nothing.

I don't understand how but I have a talent for picking the absolute worst tablet computers. I have no clue what's wrong with this piece of shit.

Mmmmmhmm so remember how I said I got a new computer for art? I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga. So far, it's been wonderful. HUGE Wacom compatible screen with a digitizer pen, I've never use a more comfortable interface for art. It's had it's issues, like the fact that if you use it for more than half an hour it won't shut completely down and you have to hold the power button and kill it, and the screen has some very noticeable ghosting issues, but at least it'd been things I don't have to worry about.

Until tonight. I thought my screen was getting dirty, so I grabbed a cloth and went at it. But I could still see what looked like some substance on the screen. So I cleaned harder. Turns out no, it's damage. To the screen. FROM DRAWING ON IT WITH A FUCKING DIGITIZER PEN. Is it really that far from the intended use of this machine that I would be using it to draw artwork??

There are these odd squared patterns of dying pixels showing up on the screen exactly where my pen is usually contacting the screen when I'm doing artwork. And in bright light you can see there are patterns of thin scratches and wear from the pen tip on the screen. So despite literally being intended to be used with a digitizer pen the screen is too delicate to fucking draw on long term. GREAT.

Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a tablet PC with WACOM (definite requirement for me) that isn't absolute trash? I'm sorely disappointed by this issue. Don't misunderstand, I'm going to use this motherfucker until there's a hole in the screen and I can't see what's on it for the time being but it's obviously already time to save up for a brand new unit due to this unbelievably shortsighted design problem. And before you ask no, I absolutely am not one of those people who draws pushing the pen down with force. I wish I WAS, because then all I'd have to do is get used to drawing lightly.



I mean how do you design a tablet computer screen so poorly that it gets DAMAGED BY CONTACT WITH ITS OWN FUCKING PEN.

Just wondering if anyone else got ahold of one of those. They look so sleek and neat! But if they're not that much better than just using a plain old tablet I wouldn't think they'd be worth that hefty price tag. But they look so neat! I'd imagine drawing right to the screen would be easier and more intuitive than looking at a screen instead of your hands. But is it??

As for what I'm willing to do - just look at everything I've already drawn and painted. Please note that I DO NOT DO FEMALES. I have no idea how to draw female anatomy. Blah blah blah. So I'm back around drawing up a storm again. :3 I might have had to quit my job buuuut at least I got a very nice PC out of it LOL. Gonna enroll in a college program for culinary certification, so yay! Direction in life. WHOOO. And not that it's quite as important but I'm still thinking I wanna go for a new sona. For some reason the old one personifying me kinda brings me down these days since I feel like a whole different person than I was when I came up with it. I dunno! Apparently a few people hate that idea so who knows. xD

SIGH so ... I finally have a job. Still don't have a computer, but I have internet again and it's a start. I'm saving up for one, but that could be another six months I'm so broke lately. I'm Starbucks right now lol. Things are kind of mixed up for me; I lost my internet and my phone basically, since my unemployment ran out recently. I'm getting help with a car though, so you'll all know once I start working again. I was going to ask also if anyone has experience with anxiety/panic attacks, and whether anyone has advice regarding such. I've had a sudden onset of it recently, so I've been on the lookout for advice related to it. I'm perfectly fine health wise though.

I felt like I owed an explanation for my absence, since I tend to disappear a lot. The good news is though, is that I did manage to fix my computer after it blue screened on me, so I'm drawing again. I'll be working on some stuff offline, trying to figure out a way to get my internet/phone turned back on. I'll upload some stuff if I can find a way to get enough privacy lolol.

OOOOOH god this weekend was fun. So I went as Ke$ha, and if you know who that is than you rock just that much more. First half of the weekend I went to a friend's house where we all smoke/drank and played brawl for a while, before I hit the town with the girls for a nice drunken walk around in drag. I had no clue walking around for no reason was so much fun drunk, because I usually don't partake. But yeah, the next morning I found out last night I was going on about being a hardcore bitch with a joint in my mouth LOL; I was ready to wake up in the bathtub at that point.

Second half of the weekend I party hopped with my bff who was poker face Lady GaGa, and that was kind of fun. I couldn't bring myself to drink again since I get sick super easy, but I smoked when it was around. There was this party in a big mechanic's shed with strobe lights, fog, these weird dancing green lasers; it was too bad we got there as everyone was leaving lol. So we went over to my bff's fag hag's house and danced to skanky pop music with a black light the rest of the evening. I faintly remember a song that had something to do with sizzurp LOL. She was damn funny drunk, always trying to make out with the gay guys lol

Anyway the real point of this journal is to say it was a relatively safe weekend and I'm rested and I'll be on YIM and stuff tonight to anyone who cares. :P I love you all and I hope you had FUN but are fine now. <3

... I never realized how irritating it is to talk about yourself in third person perspective for extended periods of time. LOL. In the time I haven't posted anything, this is all that has changed for me. I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing, but there's the update.

:3 Hi all

So yeah, I've been gone forever lol. I've had a major shift in my focus all around lately, and my artwork is no exception. I'm learning 3D CG at the moment. There's an ENORMOUS learning curve, but I'm finally starting to climb the cliff face so to speak. It's pretty damn exciting to see a model you've been working on coming to life too though. I keep finding myself spending 10-11 hours at a time just sitting around fiddling with verticies and stuff x.x;

A while back I just kind of found myself hitting a dead end with 2D animation. It was just too much work to make a slow scene, to add effects, to try to animate a background, or a scene with more than two characters, etcetera. 3D modeling is no less amount of work, sure, but once you get a model set up you can really start to get things done; the work you've already done is reusable.
I'm not too sure what I plan to animate yet, but you can count on seeing the usual fun stuff from me. >:3 what I did before in 2D is what I'll be doing in 3D. So yeah, a little update for anyone who's wondering where I've been.
