I've been really craving Co-op type games (I've always liked them, just moreso recently) but I've nobody to play them with. All my reality buddies prefer strategy games but I like action games and such, and I would join public games but it's not quite the same and you never know if you're going to be the guy who drags the team down or if everyone else is just a derp. This is especially true in progression-based games like Payday 2. I've usually had more fun with a group of lower ranked players who were newer and just liked to play the game and have a bit of fun and I can even try to teach them a thing or two if necessary.

Kinda figured I'd bump that old journal off, even though I think it's still fairly relevant at least for another few months.

Ermmm... now time to wait for the actual "next gen software generation"

The more I hear about D&D, Pathfinder, and other such games (between Spoony's videos and stuff I've read and heard from various other places) the more tempted I am to want to play them.
However I know that I'd not be very good or interesting in such a game, plus there's the whole commitment thing which I know I'm bad at as well.
It is quite a dilemma, and it tortures me so.

Dunno, just felt like posting something aboot it. I have attempted to play various little DnD type things before but never really had an actual session before.

I like games. It seems not only do I like to play them, but I like to watch people play them, and thus I like to watch LP's of games and other things like that.
However, Television and I do not get along. I'm not 100% sure what it is about television but it just cannot keep my attention like videogames do. Also, sports. Watching sports, for the most part, is pretty much a snorefest for me. As for actually playing them, I suppose it can be alright given the right sport (baseball is a yawnfest even while... "playing" it...). This is especially convoluted when I enjoy watching certain people playing sports videogames... yeah, I don't get it either XD

I'm primarily a PC gamer, and the most exciting thing about the ;next generation' of gaming to me is definately that game developers will no longer be creating products based on ~7 year old hardware, and my modern gaming PC will not be bored as it renders "high-end" games like Skyrim at ~200 FPS at which point I have to manually try to control the FPS to avoid overheating my graphics card because it's working way harder than it needs to... and don't tell me to turn Vsync on because Vsync is terrible unless given some very specific conditions, and the reason for that is control responsiveness, for the most part.

Soo, what does this all lead up to? Well, I suppose I just want to give my own reaction to Microsoft's latest reveal of the Xbox One. All you guys have to do is keep all of what I have said in mind... while you watch this short video.

Anyways, at E3 maybe we'll have a 'proper' gaming console reveal and all will be fine. Hopefully that's the case, because as much of a PC gamer as I am I don't want to see consoles doing bad, I just want them to not suck and (inadvertently?) end up making PC gaming a nightmare of some kind.

There's little to no info aboot the game aside from what's in those links, but if I were to hazard a guess I'd say it would be more of an adventure game than an actual simulator, but you know... =p

Apparently these guys made the puzzle platformer Pid. I never played it but it's starting to seem that most indie devs need to have some kind of puzzle platformer, hehehe. (EDIT: I mean to say they're basically required to have one, oops =p )

It could be interesting to see a game in this style mixed with Stranded 2

I've always liked the idea of having nonhuman characters in games, especially the more animal-like ones (Guess that means I'm a furry huh?). I also always liked the idea of, instead of a nice cheerful happy children's story setting, having them in a more 'serious' or dark setting, kind of a little like Nimh I suppose?

The game's in early alpha right now, I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's more complete, and hopefully it'll get funded so it'll actually become a reality =o

Oh, people have been saying they're getting Dark Souls vibes from this, and if it's anything like Dark Souls then that'll be pretty awesome. It's also been compared to Gothic, a game which I haven't played but apparently it's pretty good.

Hey guys, hope you're having a nice and politically correct holiday.
During the politically correct holidays it's customary to give and receive presents and gifts, apparently, but have you ever felt guilty about it? For the past few years I've never really wanted anything for christm- the politically correct holidays, and I've never asked for anything, but I get stuff anyways. This year wasn't so bad because I got useful stuff which is never really a bad thing... But... I didn't really have anything to give back...

I guess the point of a gift is to... "voluntarily transfer by one person to another without compensation" but the problem I have with Chri- the politically correct holidays is that it's almost expected to give something back.

Honestly, I think if you feel like giving something to somebody, you don't need to wait until a predetermined politically correct holiday to do so. That isn't to say that the politically correct holidays are a bad thing though, sure it's got all the commercialism and stuff, but then there's all the warm, cheesy stuff that goes on that makes people happy.

With that said, I'm going to try out my new headset ^^ maybe I will get a TrackIR for myself after all...
