Posted 16 years agoI will Ustream on Friday, at 7pm EST. The theme will be Egyptian. I refuse to draw Anubis. You were warned in advance.
Rasslor's work is nearly all sketched out and will be shown to him shortly. Everyone expect Spiritwolf who is on vacation has seen their drafts with one exception. Cyberwuff's second round is coming up. I wish it were all done, and finished, but I am enjoying working on them slowly.
1) I hate cute things. The disturbing truth is I enjoy drawing them though, then I hide them.
2) When it comes to nostalgia I am often a victim of the 80s, early 90s. Captain Planet, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, etc.
3) I tend to worry too much about everything.
4) I like drinking, but cannot since I live on a dry campus. (They instituted it the year I joined. Enforced it the month I enrolled. Yay for stupid people dying due to over indulgence).
5) After 11 years I am still not sure why I draw. I was asked if I saw drawing as a craft or something more fluid which depends on mood, and I cannot answer for the life of me.
6) I will keep myself from doing things I enjoy, to spare myself scrutiny from others. It scares me when I am having fun.
7) Blonds completely devastate all rational thought for me. I cannot think around them. That goes for men only.
8) The only real advice in art I remember is from Zaywulf aka Paul B. "All artists are equal." Apparently some more equal than others =3

I expect these done in a timely fashion, but will not rush. My apologies for the broadcast in the zoo, the reason people kept getting disconnected was because of frequent times the internet in the hotel would wander as I had wireless up. I did however get some nice saber tooth sketches that
mainlion wanted.

Ac is going well
Posted 16 years agoI have had a variety of pictures, as well as good moments. Everyone here is in high spirits, and aside from that elderly man who collapsed outside of the convention center everything has been incident free. I wish Kage hadn't mentioned specifically at the beginning of opening ceremonies there was shenanigans going on, since now everyone is mimicking what was pissing him off constantly.
A special shout out to
rftigermode As her badge has had me stopped and complimented more times than any other AC. Everyone I have run into has not only mentioned her work, but is looking forward to the conclusion of her current issue of Pride of Life.

All that planning
Posted 16 years agoWell despite all my planning and preperation windows Vista gave me a big middle finger. Not even open canvas is working let alone photoshop. So once again I have no means to work on anything.
This is highly annoying. I made so much preperation and even got photoshop working off a jump drive that worked anywhere on campus on any machine. My only mistake, not testing any of my backups on a vista machine.
Gah. I wanted to work on the damn comic let alone commissions. I need to find an alternative and fast. I have the cash, I am wondering if I should just pay for it all again, but I was told numerous times that Adobe will not support Vista/certain issuses. So I might be sunk.
Is there anything out there that Vista won't throw a hissy fit over?

Nearly at the end
Posted 16 years agoMy first year at graduate school is nearly at it's end. I wish there were more time left to get work done, but it's better things finish up.
Teaching thus far has definitely been different from what I expected. Regardless of all the pitfalls and students I survived and managed to work past the problems that sprung up. One of which involved students hijacking my administrative account. That was fun. Thankfully no permanent damage.
Thank you again to all the patient people waiting on me for artwork, as it stands I have a laptop now I will be bringing home with my tablet to work on things.
I may not get a chance to submit something to the Ac conbook this year or hang out in artist alley but I will be coming to Ac if only to wander around and say hello to people. I have been looking forward to that for a while now.
Life certainly does seem different with an income and a job and a higher education. I just hope I can keep this up, it's very draining and demanding work. I don't even get weekends to myself let alone off from classwork or homework.

Posted 16 years agoMy computer crashed and looped in restarts, it took 3 virus scans and 3 hours later to fix things and I liked how ustreaming went so I will be happy to do so again.

Hard Drive Failure
Posted 16 years agoWell after two weeks of trying, it is evident from the noises from the drive that the spindel is broken. In order to get the machine working I needed to reinstall windows twice and flash the bios with my old supposedly broken hard drive. So I lost my back up, and am now mostly working off a usb drive for fear of another crash.
The problem couldn't have been avoided, as it was a hardware failure.
What does this mean? All the commission work I had done over the break was lost and I need to start again. Also I no longer have photoshop. Should homework let up and I make it to the spring vacation I will invest some money into CS4 and a new Westeren Digital Drive.
My apologies to everyone waiting, as I was about to send out updates when it happened. The blue screens just kept coming, and I fought for over a month to keep the thing alive thinking it was a video card, memory or driver issue from advice I had from people and forums.
As of now I only have OC on my computer to do things with, and I will have to make due with it. I have a scanner so work can continue at least with traditional sources.
