Of legal age!
Posted 18 years agoI'm a senior in college, and I'm still too young by law to have alcohol. Thanks to campus rules, people can't even have alcohol in the room while I'm present. It's always been such a bother, but now it's all over. This Sunday, I'm turning the magical age of 21. I'm going out to one of my favorite restaurants, and leaving school work and other anxieties behind.
Between work, school, and play, the only thing I've touched my tablet for recently is to make textures for a 3d game my mate's creating. Hopefully once I get my tutorial shmeer and all that out of the way, you'll be seeing a ton of art from me. Until then, hang in tight, and give a cheer to me on the 23rd. Woo!

Yaaaay! Incoming!!!!
Posted 18 years agoI'm so, so happy. Thanks to Freaka's help, and a final decision on a web address name, look what I've got!!! http://happypumpkin.net/ Right now I'm busy packing, and soon after I'll be busy unpacking. Then..classes...yeah. But keep an eye on it for a lot more of my art then you'd see here on FA. This semester school's almost entirely art classes for me too, so there should be lots of yummies.

Comic-ing
Posted 18 years agoAbout 3 weeks ago, I took a piece of paper and wrote "Comic Ideas" on the top of it. Since then, I've filled in every inch of that piece of paper with cute one-liners, funny scenarios, and storylines. On a post it note on top of all that is a few more, labeled "Challenges:" things that I thought up while talking with friends that they basically requested I illustrate. The problem? My drawing style fails miserably when used for comicing. It simply takes too long, and doesn't look as good small. I need to experiment, and figure out a good solid way to miniaturize my art. I also need to find a good tutorial for page layout, or something like that, to get me started-- does anyone have any on hand? Tips? Pointers? I've got a lot of comicing to do. Comics and men. Yum.
Men men men
Posted 18 years agoI've come to the conclusion that I am the worst in the world at drawing men. I will remedy this. Stand by for loads of men.
Summer's Here!
Posted 18 years agoI'm glad, I've been getting a lot of time in on Photoshop this summer. Even more time sketching. Even more time cycling. Look forward to some huge uploads, now that my class load is zero. :3 I plan on riding my bike out to some pretty places and drawing up a storm. Glee for actually being active!
Busy few months
Posted 18 years agoThis is technically my first semester in college where I haven't taken 18 credits. At 15, I have a little more free time. Sadly, the effect has been counteracted through my working at the writing center on campus and some rather enormous personal projects that are no where near completion. On top of that, I found myself with some extra responsibilities: Observations, finding a new roommate, beginning research on my honors thesis, and working around the stubborn honors department to allow me to use a professor that isn't full time...plus a few odd tasks, like entertaining my boss's request for me to help her interview a work mate, and design and script a web page (Which I ended up having Steve do for me, because of my limited/nonexistent CSS knowledge) for an online magazine she decided to create... Yet, I did all the creating.
But to the point- Spring break is next week. Besides the ten hours of observations I need to complete, and the three major papers due right after break, hopefully I'll finally have time to complete the myriad of unfinished drawings and Photoshop works that have been sitting around in my "incomplete" folder. This journal is more of a note to myself- a promise to myself to start pulling all that stuff out of that dang folder where so much stuff seems to get lost and find it's ultimate demise.

Tablet, Zomgu~!
Posted 19 years agoSo, I bought a Genious tablet. I already read through a lot of reviews, good and bad, about the brand. It's was funny, what one person refered to as an outstanding feature of the tablet, another person would put down. I've never used a tablet, so we'll see what a tablet-nooby thinks about it all. When it comes in the mail I'll be able to test this all out. I'll be finally shading the newest lineart I submitted as well-- it'll be the first product (besides my OMG tablet doodles in Photoshop) of the new yummy thing.
Yay, tablet. <3 I should have it by Friday.

Scanner
Posted 19 years agoI'd upload 2 new pictures, if I wasn't so lazy... Laptop's downstairs, scanner's upstairs...wireless router isn't working well- rather have the laptop stay upstairs. Afraid I'll feel bad bringing it back downstairs and get upset trying to fix the router again. How sad. Eventually, they'll get put up. Promise.
Unpoofed
Posted 19 years agoWork has me all puckered out-- It's taking extra long to finish my current anthro picture...But when I finally upload it, it'll be well worth the wait!
