YES! after some careful planning and saving, I finally FINALLY am getting my internet hookup! No more having to walk my ass down to Starbucks! As I've mentioned, been so damn hot that I try to keep outings as limited as possible.

Anyway, expect lots of new stuff! Art, updates on my MLP audio play and so on!

Oh yes, I am aware that PandaJenn.com is down. I guess my last payment didn't go through. I'll see what I can do to fix that.

For the past 6 or 7 years now, I've been going in and out of art slumps. I remember years ago, when I would consistently be inspired and couldn't go a day without the urge to create or draw. But in recent years that feeling has been dimming gradually and has neared the point where I would eventually ask my self, "what's the point?" I've hit a block!

Recently I made a realization, and I can't believe that I've never considered this before! Since 1999 I haven't been active in any medium aside from CG coloring! My pics always start out hand drawn, but anything else after that would be done on my tablet and paint software. Due to this, I feel like maybe I've lost complete sight of the rewarding feeling of completing a fully traditional, hand drawn, colored picture. So, I decided to take a break from digital art and take some time to rediscover traditional mediums, such as prismacolor pencils and experiment with tools I've rarely used like, acrylic paints and so on. I really feel like this might do the trick! In addition, I'll be using this traditional medium practice to focus on background studies and still lives possibly some impressionism, aside from my usual character art.

Summer is fast approaching, and the hotter it gets, the harder it gets for me to make the trip to Starbucks every week to get caught up on my internet activity. On that note, I want to remind all of you who have been waiting to get replies from me to please be patient. I do check my notes and emails whenever I can, but because my net access is so limited, things tend to pile up rather quickly and not every note or email will get acknowledged right away. I know that no matter what I say or how I try to explain this, someone WILL take it personally, but will say it anyway..... PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY!

Onto other updates...

Not much to report on new art really. All my energy and free time has been poured into working on my house. I finally bought a sofa set with my tax refund, and the place is really coming together with every little bit of work and touch of decor. At some point, I will post some photos of it's progress, but I'd like to add a few more touches first. I am happy to report that for the first time in years, the old house is feeling like a home again.

My audio play is still in production. I just received the last of the lines from my actors, and just need to listen through and send my final notes. Other then that, I'd say it's about half way there. I'm still looking for a crew if anyone is interested. Finally completed the second draft of my MLP/SPN audio play! Before I finalize everything, I'm just getting some second opinions from fellow MLP and SPN fans. I want to be sure I'm writing everyone in character and that they are interacting appropriately. It's rather challenging to write a crossover for two very different shows. My next step is to complete the website and open auditions for the main cast, extras, etc.

A while back, I opened a voice experiment for Spicy, which was free for all to participate.
However, no one seemed to respond but one person.

This was miss Rina-Chan's submission and I thank her very much for taking the time to record this for me.

Okay, so this is the first time since I moved that I've been able to get online! I'm at Starbucks at the moment, which is pretty much where I need to go if I want to use the net. I do have net on my phone, but it's a pain in the ass to navigate.

Anyway, I'm all caught up on my trades and commissions, which I just finished posting! :)

The move went very well, the new carpet looks fantastic. I so miss having an available net connection though lo, but I'm sure I'll thank myself for that once I receive my first utility bills.

Almost there folks! The house is pretty much cleaned up, and the new carpet is scheduled to be installed on Monday, which is the same day that I will be officially moving!

As for the bad news, after shopping around for wireless net hook ups, I've come to the conclusion that it's way too expensive for me right now. I'm already cutting out cable, and due to budgeting sadly, internet will have to be on that same list.

However, I won't be gone entirely and you will all still get you're commissions/ trades because thankfully there are plenty of hot spots (Starbucks, McDonald's etc.) within walking distance from the house and I'll be able to head down a couple times a week to check mail plus send, receive commissions.... and if any good comes out of no internet, it'll be that I won't have any distractions or excuses for not getting any artwork done... so, silver lining YAY!

By now many of you have met my MLP OC, Spicy. I've noticed allot of talented VAs around Youtube who have explored voice possibilities for other OCs and /or background ponies (Derpy, Doctor Whooves, Vinyl Scratch, Colgate, Wildfire etc.) and it's had me curious as to how Spicy might be portrayed.

If you like to VA and are interested, please feel free to send in some voice sample recordings of what you think she would sound like? This is for anyone and everyone to try BTW, not just limited to actors, and certainly not just girls. Bronies are more then welcome to participate as well! It's just a fun experiment, and all voice samples will be posted to my youtube! (note: if you don't wish to see your submission posted, please let me know and I'll keep it private.)

Spicy is a demon pony from Tartarus and as such, is not a very nice pony.
She's playfully mischievousness, flirtatious and considers herself to be quite sly.
She's always willing to make a deal for someponie's soul. In fact, one of her catch phrases might be, "Do we have a deal?"
Her special talent includes anything having to do with fire and heat, loves spicy food (of course) and hates being tied down or told what to do, especially not by her boss, the lord of the underworld himself. Spicy considers herself more rebellious and will always fight to do things her way. She would much rather spend her days in Ponyville, tormenting it's town folk than stuck down in boring old Tartarus.

For those of you who would prefer some lines, here are just a few suggestions (as I know improv isn't for everyone.):

"Everypony knows if you want to make a deal with me, you need to have
something to bargain with."

"Do we have a deal?"

"I'm the S to the P to the I C Y, and 'aint no other pony heats it up

*sigh* I know, these "update" journals must be getting annoying by now... believe me, I'm just as annoyed as you are, if not extremely agitated! Sadly, there's only much I can get done over there at this point, and I've been busting my rump for the past 2 weeks on this place. Tomorrow, is supposedly the day that the pro carpet cleaners are suppose to show up and bid on the job... well, weather or not they plan to show up remains to be seen. My mom's boyfriend is handling the carpet cleaning stuff, which is great, because I have enough on my plate! However, it would be nice if "professionals" would act professionally and promptly to a situation! It's almost February and the stuff that needs to be done before I move in, (carpet, new floors etc.) is NOT getting done, and once more I feel like I have to do everything myself! Hows the saying go? "If you want something done..."

Anyway, time to crash, weather or not these "professionals" show up tomorrow, I'm gonna try to head down there to see what more I can get done!

Hey guys... earlier this week, I had to deal with yet another unexpected expense, and between that and Rent,
I'm now broke until my next paycheck. I just need a little money for food and bus fare, to get me to and from work.

With moving and everything else I have on my plate, sketches are all I realy have time for, and I really could use the cash. Sketches are about the only thing I can get done quickly at this point.

I'm only $3.00 a sketch, and an extra $1 per added character and/or background.

I have the next few days off work and will be using that time to see how much I can get done over at the house. Still lots to be done, but it's coming along. Starting tomorrow, I'll be pulling a 48 hour all righter and seeing how much I can accomplish in that amount of time. Currently, there is no net connection over there, so I will be without my comp during that time. It's just as well, because we all know how distracting the internet can be, right? LOL!
