General | Posted 13 years agoAs I stated in my previous journal, I need to make some cash for foord and bus fair (because I can't
get myself to work otherwise)
I don't get paid till Friday and I'm flatt broke, so for the first time ever, I'm doing a "pay what you want" stream!
This is for doodles and sketches only. And remember, the more you pay, the nicer the doodle. ;)
All payments must be sent via paypal: pandajenn01[at]gmail.com
Please note all requests and refferences and when you send payment, I'll add you to the list.
There are only 2 rules:
*Payments must be sent before I can include your request.
* Please keep them simple, no major poses or backgrounds. I'll have to draw each pic as quicklyas possible.
The stream will start at 2:00PM Paccific time and will go on, depending on the number of requests I recievce.

Hamster update and name reveal!
General | Posted 13 years agoCongrats to those who guessed right. I'll have your sketch done soon! To everyone else, great guesses and thanks for participating.
Anyway, his name is Sam! I've also dubbed him the nicknames Sammy and Samster. Just like his name sake, he's very active and full of piss and vinegar! Getting a decent photo at the moment is next to impossible since he doesn't stay still for more then 2 seconds and all the other times he hides. I did manage to get some last night and somewhere in there is a decent enough one to post, which I'll do soon as I can sort through them. He spent all night trying to escape his cage, thankfully he hasn't been successful. I feel bad watching him though. I got him a Hamster ball and they told me to give him a week to get use to his new surroundings before I start trying to handle him. In the meantime he has everything he needs from food, to chew toys, and of course plenty of water. I am however going to pick him up a bigger weel today. The one that came with the cage is about as big as he is and he needs more room. The cage itself should be bigger, the girl at petco said it should be big enough, but he's a pretty big boy and a very active one at that. For now it's gonna have to do. I want my Sammy to be comfortable and get all the exercise he needs.
One of the things that drew my me to him, aside from his active personality was that he has this little chip in his right ear, similar to the way I designed my Dean hamster. http://pandajenn.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d5g19lr -- I thought that was a funny coincidence, and of course it just gives him that much more character.
This is my first Hamster and aside from the research I've done, I'm greatful for any advice you Hamster owners can give me. I got a book on Hamster care along with everything else, but I know hearing from personal experience can be just as beneficial if not more so.

General | Posted 13 years agoI appreciate everyone's words of encouragement. After all the hard work I went through to get myself and my life on track, I've found myself falling into some old habits and ways of thinking. I'm trying to catch myself before I fall any further. I'm still in a good situation, better then the one I was in and I'm trying to focus on bettering my life and future back on track while I have the opportunity to do so. I'll be fine, as long as I keep my eyes on the prize, things will all work out for the best I'm sure.

General | Posted 13 years agoThe last couple weeks have been hectic, regards to this New York move. It seems like everything's falling apart and there's very little I can do about it.
I was really hoping that this would be the start of something better, but once more I find myself waking up each morning and asking myself, "what's the point?" and "what am I doing?"

Welcome my little ghoulies! It's time time of year again, we can indulge ourselves in all things creepy and odd. We can reveal our true selves without judgement or pretend to be something we're not.... it's Halloween!
This witchy panda has some tricks and treats up her sleeve just for you as I open my door once more, to some Halloween commissions!
Tell me my pretties, what scary and magical things do you wish me to draw you? My one and only rule of course is that it must somehow be Halloween themed. Would you like to see your character as a zombie, or a vampire... or even a witch like myself? :D

I'm actually looking forward to it this year, at least I can face 31, and finally be exactly where I wanted to be at 31... a place of my own, a boyfriend... yup, everything's finally coming up Jenn!

Yes, I do have good news... I finally got my scanner back so now I can get caught up on all those trades and commissions I owe you guys!
I plan on spending my next day off doing lots and lots of drawing!
Also, I'm still planning on a commission stream in the very near future, so keep an eye open for that real soon. ;)
Thanks again everyone for your patients while I've been drifting aimlessly the last few months.
Now all I have to do is keep up on rent so I can stay here for a while.

General | Posted 13 years agoI just moved into my cousin's house today! Finally, out in the real world and living on my own!
Even better news, I should have my scanner here soon so I can finally finish all the trades and commissions I owe you guys. Speaking of which, I'm gonna have to start taking them on again to help play for rent, utilities etc.... don't start rushing me with requests just yet though, I want to get my current batch done before I do anymore.
Somewhere down the line, once I get comfortable with Sai, I would like to do $10 sketch streams. That will be open soon for anyone who'd be interested. Once more that money will go towards living expenses.
I'll keep y'all updated as things progress!

Home crappy home...
General | Posted 13 years agowell back in Cali after a long flight from Buffalo to phoenix and an even longer layover in phoenix. >_<*
I'm still stuck on NY time, so right now I feel like it's 4:30 in the afternoon when it's only 1:30... damn jet lag!
All that aside I had a great time and did pretty much everything I set out to do when I got there.
of course there's still drama going on over here and I'll still be house hopping until I find a permanent residence. Hopefully that won't be too much longer. I have to return to work on Sunday so we'll see what happens from there I guess.
I'm just so bummed out that I had to leave. I wanted to stay there forever, seriously!
I'm still stuck on NY time, so right now I feel like it's 4:30 in the afternoon when it's only 1:30... damn jet lag!
All that aside I had a great time and did pretty much everything I set out to do when I got there.

General | Posted 13 years agoMy cousin turned me onto this show, been watching seasons 1-6 the last few weeks. Supernatural is my new obsession and Sam Winchester is my new imaginary boyfriend! LOL!
I took a big step this evening...
General | Posted 13 years agoTonight I saw my dad for the first time in over 10 years.
The last time I saw him was my HS graduation in 2000. Long story short, we didn't part ways on good terms.
Recently, he got remarried to this lovely woman who out of no where decided she wanted to contact the her new step daughter (me)
and invited me to attend my dad's birthday dinner.
I decided to bite the bullet and go for it, if anything for some closure and personal growth. Between that and getting on a plane for the first time, that's like 2 fears I've nicked in one month... I think I might be on a role.
Anyway, the dinner turned out great and I really think my dad has changed and I think he wants to make things right. Right now I'm feeling very proud of myself for taking this chance. I also feel like it helped to mend allot of my emotional tears, especially that regarding men and relationships.... weather that makes sense or not.
Also double bonus I finally got to meet my nephews, Julian and Dillon and I just love them to pieces!

General | Posted 13 years agoBack in '98-'99 (can't remember the exact year) when I first got net connection, I stumbled upon an amazing anthro artist (back before I knew what anthro even was or that there was a community for it.) who went by the screen name "Unicorn"

Anyway, I never had the chance to really contact him back then and after much searching, contacting dead emails, LJ accounts, etc he seems impossible to track down.

It's possible he may have just left the furry community all togeather, which of course would be sad. More updates...
General | Posted 13 years agoI meant to post this yesterday, but got bust dealing with allot of drama. By then, I was really too warn to type all this up.
Since I have to leave for work in a few moments, I'll give the short version...
Basically, after putting it off for the last couple weeks, animal control finally showed up yesterday and I assisted them in getting all the cats out of the house. I'm rather surprised with myself as to how I handled the situation. I was expecting to start falling apart, especially when I had to watch my cat's be taken... but I was able to hold it together.
After that was done, we got the locks changed on the house so my crazy aunt won't be able to go in and steal more things.
There's a few other things, but none of it's relevant at the moment.
Yesterday was a long, emotional day. I'm just glad to finally have the cat thing dealt with. That was a major source right there, lifted right off my shoulders. I would have of course rather they gone to good homes then to the pound... but this is one of those sad cases where you just have to accept reality I guess, especially for that am mount of cats and I just keep thinking that they're in a better place now then where they were. Lets face it, they were living in the same toxic environment that I was and it's really amazing that they were able to survive it for so long..... but then the fact that they were getting fed better then I was may have helped.
This situation is very close to being over at this point, especially with that issue out of the way.
Meanwhile, I got my plane tickets all set, the stuff at work should be getting settled now and all that's left is to pack my bags and get on that plane to New York!
I'll be spending about 2 weeks at :icon"'s place, in which case I'm sure he'll let me use his scanner so I can finally get back to those commissions and trades I owe people.
Once I get back to CA on the 29th and figure out what I'll be doing from that point, weather I go back to NY and stay or stay here in CA or whenever.... that will all depend on how soon I'll get my scanner set up again.
Just hang tight a bit longer guys and I'm sorry again for the delays.
Since I have to leave for work in a few moments, I'll give the short version...
Basically, after putting it off for the last couple weeks, animal control finally showed up yesterday and I assisted them in getting all the cats out of the house. I'm rather surprised with myself as to how I handled the situation. I was expecting to start falling apart, especially when I had to watch my cat's be taken... but I was able to hold it together.
After that was done, we got the locks changed on the house so my crazy aunt won't be able to go in and steal more things.
There's a few other things, but none of it's relevant at the moment.
Yesterday was a long, emotional day. I'm just glad to finally have the cat thing dealt with. That was a major source right there, lifted right off my shoulders. I would have of course rather they gone to good homes then to the pound... but this is one of those sad cases where you just have to accept reality I guess, especially for that am mount of cats and I just keep thinking that they're in a better place now then where they were.
