I moved to Missouri, about 7 years ago from Los Angeles, where the 2 cultures are as far apart as the States are. I was born in Los Angeles California, and lived there most of my life.
In Los Angeles we are more liberal in religious views because there are so many and to gay people and stuff of that nature but here in Mo, they are very conservative religiousley. Los Angeles has the second largest Jewish community in the entire world outside of Jerusalem, my brother is Jewish; my teachers were Jewish; I have friends that were Muslim too and I knew a lot of people that didn't even believe in God. My culture in LA, was respect. I want to say that I totally love God and Jesus, and all, but I don't go to church, and I don't care for religion at all.
The a large minority of people who I associate with via work school etc, are very religious. It is scary honestly it is such a culture shock for me. People have Bibles on then wherever they go and say things like, I'm married to Jesus, or God is watching you. Quite literally, no joke, and they really mean it. For example this person I know named TJ, he sits next to me in computer science class. I was asking him what video games he plays and he said back "well, I am not allowed to play xbox, because my parents feel that it will lead me to sin. So that part of our conversation was over about video games. I wanted to know what else he wasn't allowed to do. So we sat there and gave me a list like he can't have a Facebook or watch TV after 8 o'clock he can only read Christian books. He said, if I want to watch a movie it has to be a Disney film or on a couple different channels he gets on TV, and really the list just goes on. I then asked him what he thought about sex and he said that his parents were actually okay with him having sex. No just kidding! lol what did you expect? and of course his parents won't let him even have a girlfriend :c poor guy. I have met a lot of people like this her in Missouri, I think its freaking child abuse ignorant and ridiculous to think like that honestly, but that's my culture VS their culture. I have nothing against religion the church and God but this is pure oppression and this person is 19 years old by the way and can't have a girlfriend and has never had one either. I asked him one last question before I had to leave to my other class. I said TJ, would your parents be okay with you being gay if your guy. In response he said.
"Well if I was tempted with that I would chose not to sin like I choose not to sin now. I would pray for strength from Jesus to overcome being gay, and my parents would support me with that challenge."
O_o seriously he actually said that to me....
Now I'm not gay but I really love people not sexually of course I'm talking spiritually. I I'm just 1 of those people who has so much love in them. I know TJ, does not hate gay people he just sees them as sinners and people who are sick where I see the as people and I really don't care what the hell any one does in the bedroom, but I don't see them as being sick or flawed but a lot of people here in Missouri like TJ, have that same point of view. It is just a total culture shock for me. I was stunned that he feels that gay people can 1 chose and 2 view homosexuality is a sin, but I am getting used to people like this.

Well I want so say that this Journal is for adults, but its nothing awful.
So about 3 to 4 weeks ago I changed my settings from PG to the adult one. I don't really have a reason I was just really curious to see what would show up in my mail box. It is not the first time I have don this, but I has to be like 8 or 9 month now that I have kept it on the PG setting. Like I said it is very accurate it's just the people at the cons- are "middle aged" and up and just look odd plus there really where not any fursuits it was people dressing up as animals which is more cosplay then furry. If you know the difference you know the difference. It's really hard to explain the difference between cosplay animal and furry, but in the vid you will see the difference.

Apparently I've been sending too many friend requests to people who I do know but the people are just not accepting them. Like 3 weeks ago I was suspended from sending friend requests for 7 days. I didn't learn my lesson I guess so now facebook says I can't send friend requests for 14 days. This is a new low for me I didn't know I could go lower. lol I'm so pathetic. Facebook asked me to only send friend requests to people who I know in the real world with real world connections. That's really funny that Facebook had to tell me that. I'm both sad but laughing at my self on how absolutely pathetic this is.

I just wanted to say FurAffinity compared to Facebook for making friends and getting to know people, FurAffinity is a much better social network.
I can not believe somthing as big as Facebook is so bad. Ther is no personalization other than one picture. That you can put on the top of your page. I don't think you can have a moving profile picture like you can with FA. Ther is no real format to blog about things we see or give praise to or to give a rebuttal to an idea like you can with FA. You can't comment on comments on Facebook like you can FurAffinity, witch is really fun and handy to be able to do. I like and go on Facebook daily but it is mostly people and family complaining about something, or reposting a funny pic someone else made. I do both by the way, why not? It is what Facebook is for, but FurAffinity is for art and sharing our personalities and interest. That all relate to or revolves around anthropomorphic or furry stuff.
Plus I don't have as much fun going on Facebook as I do going on FurAffinity.
The only thing I would like FurAffinity to have a Instant Message system like Facebook does. So we could communicate better in our fur community. Not having that is holding us back, a lot.

Draw more Kangaroos and Bears pleas, and less Dog and dog like anthrose like Wolvs coyotes foxes and all that are in the K9 phylum. I wove them all I do, but I think we need more Roos and Bears. Especially Roos. No one Draws Kangaroos any more, and I dont know why. Thay are so damb cute, with ther ears and big silly feets and tails. Oh and did I mention the Ears lol? Im not saying pics of puppys and drawings of them are bad, and I want less because I think ther bad. No its not like that at all. I love them a ton I do really, but I rarly get any Drawings of Bears and Kangaroos. Plus, I'v had a hard time with people who are good at drawing kangaroos. So I bet we all heard that a bunch of poor lil kids died in school yesterday. There were shot to death by a crazy person who had 2 hand guns. I think the count was 22 kids under 7 shot to death and 6 adults. I think he killed his mom then shot himself after. Wow guys that sux. I marked this journal as Gun control, because I would like to make a statement about guns and frivolous gun laws. There are good and there are bad people in this world. There are people who are moral and follow the law. The vast majority of people are those types. Then there are the ones who are mentally sick people who need to more help, or be placed into prison. Not that they did anything wrong just that they are mentally ill and are dangerous to themselves and others. The definition of crazy is, someone who can’t be a part of society. That is why we have prisons. Part one of my statement on this is that those people can get a fire arm as easy as a good and sane person can and a law wouldn’t prevent criminals or crazy people from getting them. It well only prevent sane good people from getting them who want to defend their family’s life from said crazy person, or criminal. It would make the problem worse. Criminals do not follow the law so how would a law prevent them from obtaining a gun? Crazy people well are crazy enough said, right?
The second part of my point is that if we had a magic button that when preset would destroyed all guns and we all decided to press it. Would it prevent these kind of tragedy’s?
My answer is yes it would, but instead of a gun the person would have just used a different means of killing those pore kids. I’m sorry to say that I am, but taking one form of killing device away wouldn’t stop them. Millions of people have been killed by sticks, rocks, ropes, knives, bats you name it.
Oh side note so many people have died from communism, Hitler’s Germany, Mows China and Stalin’s Rusha mass killings of just people not soldiers and the first thing those governments did was to disarm the population so they couldn’t fight back from the total rape and enslaving of millions. That’s another reason I want to keep my guns. Thanx for reading.
