We at Indyfurcon are sad to announce that Roxas, iFC 2013 & 2014 chairman, and Board of Directors member since its inception in 2010, has voluntarily stepped down from his position as Chairman of Indyfurcon for the 2014/2015 year.
After a year of battling cancer, his mother has just recently passed away, and he has, understandably, opted to concentrate on taking time to focus on family and other matters at this time. We here at the Indyfurcon family send our thoughts and prayers to him and his family at this time.
Effective immediately, and at Roxas' nomination, the staff and board have opted to elect Paul "Pandez Panda" Crozier as Chairman elect for the remainder of the 2015 con year.
"My thoughts, obviously, are with Roxas and his family at this time. It will not be easy filling this role. Tora Nightprowler started this convention from scratch. Roxas Panda came in and revamped the organization and how it ran in so many ways, and took it to a whole other level. I promise to do my best in this role for the remainder of this convention year and hope I can live up to the standards that have come before me. I know we have an amazing crew and if they have as much faith in me as I have in them, 2015 will be an outstanding year for Indyfurcon." Pandez

September was... kinda crazy

So sept was kinda crazy.
After iFC which was a rounding success (some minor hiccups - to those who submitted feedback THANK YOU AND I WILL BE GETTING BACK TO YOU I PROMISE!!!), I went back to work without a day off for like 9 or 10 days then had a week vacation to visit my brother for his 50th birthday and attend Montreal Comiccon
(you may have noticed the pics) :D
And then my boss (pharmacy manager) has been on vacation for the last week so i've been working extra for her so.. yeah it was con, work, vacation, work and now next weekend will be like my first two days off back to back to actually relax and respond to iFC emails and stuffs since con shut down o.O
Thanks for being patient - and - yeah - hope everyone is well and you all had a great September.
Oh and my transfer got approved so I'll be relocating to lower MI sometime (from what I gather) before thanksgiving - thought it's not official no date / store that i'm moving to as of yet - but i happen to know they've hired my replacement so... there is THAT at least >>

Feeling pretty damn good (Ego Panda Journal)
Posted 11 years agoSo iFC is one week away. I mean we have to still HOLD the convention but - conbooks tshirts managing the twitter everything i needed to do all year leading up to is I managed to take care of. I feel exhausted but a real sense of ACCOMPLISHMENT too.
I missed Anthrocon this year - but i took my two days off and caught a flight to Toronto and filmed a music video (which i've been tweeted the hell out of) in fursuit. Damn i love this song. Album for Megan Lane drops friday guys n gals check it out.

I'm about 5 pounds away from cracking 299. I haven't weighed this since high school. I was 425 back in 2011. It's been a LONG and EXHAUSTING freaking road getting here but DAMN i'm happy to be here again.
My boss talked to me to day and my move is in the works. I'll be officially working somewhere in lower MI later this year. The official date is TBA but it's gonna happen. I'll follow up when I have more info but it's good to know i'll be nearer Detroit (and indy / S.Ont / IL) so i can be nearer all my friends down there.
I'll admit - about 4 months ago i was down. Was really into someone and - yeah - nothing happened between myself and them. But um - been getting some - interesting tweets / facebook messages out of nowhere from a few people the last month. TOTALLY not expected I tell you what... Got me feeling ready to get back out there again so YAY that.

I had the AMAZING experience of filming this music video July 4th weekend in my Panda suit!
(when we are "climbing" into the back of the truck i "flopped" in the back and yelled" GO GO GO and they peeled away - they didn't show the "flop" but you can see me laying down in the truck bed feet hanging out the back LMAO)
This is the first single to her new album.
"Some Day We Will Leave This Town"

MCFC wrapup

That was absolutely insane.
We were expecting 600 to 700 and we had just under 1000 people - wouldve had 1000 if all the pre-reg people had shown up o.O
you guys... you guys... our badge printer cried tears of ink at the end of the con AND THAT S**T's EXPENSIVE!
Also $7000 for charity OMG you guys rock!
uber thanks to ronnie for letting me help MC the fursuit dance competition that was SOOO MUCH FUUUNNNNN!
Thanks to our GoH's (names will be edited in later i'm heading to work and i can't look their FA names up right now #derp)
Firestorm was a hoot to talk to (Strange Brew!!!) and OMG i loved my badge from Danji (I'm sure i spelled that wrong.. i have like 8 brain cells functioning like i said editing later).
The website is getting revamped soonish to something with a better friendlier user interface. Reg has some upgrades planned for next year.
We hope to make oodles of improvements for 2015 but FEEDBACK!!!! is super important from you guys. drop me a note. send us an email. Feedback is how cons learn and grow and get better and improve every year.
Let's make 2015 rock even harder!

MCFC Forums
Posted 11 years agoDue to the overwhelming response from the attendees for the need for a forum, we have put together a message board system for attendees to utilize. It is still 'under construction' in that we are still adding graphics and making it more 'furry', but we deemed having it up and running NOW, so you could make use of it as soon as possible, was of more importance than looks.
So please head on over to http://mcfc.bbforum.co/ and make use of it for ride shares, room shares, dinner meet ups, or watching for general announcements about the con. We hope this comes in handy in the days and weeks to come. Sincerely, the MCFC Board of Directors.

This year at the first-ever Motor City Furry Con, I am proud to introduce the Fursuit Dance Competition happening at this event! For those that have never attended a fursuit dance competition before, this is a heart-pounding and wildly-fun event that features some of the furry fandom's greatest talents on the dance floor!
The main event will take place on Saturday April 12th at 8:30PM in the Main Ballroom! We will be opening doors around 5-10 minutes in advance for audience members to find seating and set up all your fancy cameras and prepare your throats for a lot of cheering.

mmmmm Rich Thick Journally Goodness

So I'm alive and thats of course a good thing. :D
Just letting everyone know some randomness about goings on in my life at the moment.
Firstly - for those who didn't hear I have stepped down from Programming at iFC for 2014. I'm head of Marketing this year, and my awesome buddy Alkali took over as programming. If you have programming suggestions you can still talk to me about them and I'll forward them along to Alkali, but he's the main programming dude for 2014. I just felt this would be a better use of my skill set to help make iFC as awesome as I can make it.
Secondly - I HAVE A PANEL AT MIDWEST FURFEST! Yes I have my own ONE HOUR stand up comedy panel at MFF2013 in 4 weeks.
4 weeks from TODAY as a matter of fact! (technically this will be posted after midnight so it's friday morning EST now LOL)
11pm Friday night it will be R rated because there was NO way i could put together a PG show nope nope nope. So if you're ready for a whole bunch of innuendo and blatant OMG DID HE ACTUALLY JUST SAY THAT come to my panel! It'd be super awesome if I got like... more than 10 people there ^_^
Thirdly - I know everyone is still in MFF mode right now BUT I want you all thinking about two cons in the spring. FurSquared and MotorcityFurcon. These are two cons I am full backing to the best of my ability. I don't have a position with FurSquared but Alkali and his group running it REALLY seem like they have their act together and I look forward to hanging out there that weekend and having a blasty blast. As for MotorcityFurcon - well - I'll try and let you guys know about my affiliation with them when everything is official - and that's all I can say about that for now :D STAY TUNED!
Fourthly - Back to MFF - on MFF weekend it is the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who's first airing. The special 50th episode featuring the 10th doctor's return, the 11th doctor, and JOHN HURT (OMG SO AWESOME) will be released in select locations worldwide. If this gets to a cinema in the Chicago area that weekend I SOOOO want to organize a trip to go watch this. I'll be keeping an eye on the website with the locations of what theatres will be showing it. If theres enough interest maybe we can like order a bus to take us from the hotel to the theatre for the showing. Anyways if you're up for that hit me up below and we'll see what we can work out.
EDIT - according to http://www.doctorwho.tv/watch-the-d.....-of-the-doctor there is a theater at 7000 Carpenter Rd, Skokie, IL 60077, United States about 17 minutes away from the hotel. Not exactly SUPER close, but good enough for me! I'm totally looking into this now! ^_^

We at Indyfurcon believe that YOU the congoers are what makes this con happen every year. Your imput – your thoughts – your feelings… THOSE are what help us shape the convention into what it is and what it CAN become. So we’re looking to ask you something very important. WHEN should Indyfurcon be held?
Due to the convention-congestion of late august in our area we have decided to open up the discussion as to “should we still be in August”. Do you feel iFC is a summer convention? Would you prefer us to be in the fall – the spring – the winter? We’ve been early/mid august for four straight years and it has done well for us. BUT … what do YOU think?
We ask that you send us your opinion (and as best as possible your reasoning behind it as well) as soon as you are able. Please email head of marketing pandez[at]indyfurcon.com at your earliest convenience.
And on behalf of all the staff and board - for your time and your continued support of iFC - Thank you!

Been a while (pre-iFC) since I posted a journal.
I owe everyone an iFC wrapup journal and update but there's SO much I need to put in there if I'm going to be brutally honest I want like a solid HOUR to sit and ponder what I'm going to say.
Meanwhile I'm gonna be stopping by Furlaxation next weekend - yay a nice relaxing con where i don't have to DO things. Almost forgot these existed...
