So my mum got tickets to go see a production of "The Producers" for it's last night tonight. Now I've been to concerts and comedy shows but I haven't been to a play since before i graduated college > 10 years ago. But I thought hey I could go to half the show then cut out at intermission and go hang out with my friends.
... then something unexpected happened.
THE SHOW WAS AMAZING.
oh goodness i forgot just how amazing theatre can be. The last play that rocked my theatrical soul like this was a version of Sweeny Todd from back in the 90's (that was wayyyy better than jonny depp's version - sorry depp).
Part of me hopes that i never win the lottery cause if I did i'd be in LA in a heartbeat auditioning for any role i can get
(minus the ol "pizza delivery guy oh ma'am how about i tip YOU instead" kinda rolls :p )
Ah to have the soul of an actor, yet the courage level of the cowardly lion from the beginning of Wizard of Oz instead of the end...... Le Sigh.
Why do i have John Candy's body and the comedic ability of Steven Segal , and not vice versa.

Well fcn 2011 was a good time. Glad to hang out with my usual pals, and saw a few old ones I hadn't seen basically since fcn2010. Will upload pics when I get home.

yes I'm not home yet.... see 10am monday, all packed up ready to leave the con for home, I get a call on my cell.
dad and mum, while driving from florida back home to canada, stopped to stretch their legs in lima, ohio and 5 min later my dad passed out.
techinically.. he was dead for 2 minutes. No breath no pulse. Mum was right beside him annd gave him cpr... not actual cpr but 'the best she could do from watching ER and stuff over the years". It worked tho cause he gasped and pulse returned as the aambulance was pulling up. Luckily for dad they were 2 min from a major hospital.
So I drove striaght tthere and have been in lima since then.
wont get into his medical details but suffice it to say he is frickin lucky to be alive.
He was stable enough that they flew him home by air ambulance so he's at home city hospital.
I am taking the long way towing their van behind my truck. Was hoping to be home but its been windy and haven't felt comfortable towing it at more than 55 or even 50 most of the way,
just stopped for the night in gaylord and should be home lunchtime wed.
So if you were expecting a goodbye monday morning and didn't get one from me... I do have a reason :p
later everyone. Oh and if you get a chance go learn cpr!!! True my mum managed without official training... but what if it was your mum/dad/sibling hmm? As for me I'll be renewing mine in august like I do every year!!

So for those of you who dont know me well IRL.. I work in a customer service field. I deal with customers all day long. Sometimes - no matter how much of a balance you try to have between getting things right and getting things done promptly - it's NEVER good enough. Customers will berate you for not being able to do things instantaneously. It gets downright depressing sometimes. Then - out of the blue - after helping a customer - they send you a thank you. In this case - Meatloaf sent me a picture signed "Paul - keep on rocking - Meatloaf"......

This made not just my day... but my freaking month ^_^
As much as 70% of the population needs to get that stick out of its collective ass... some people really do appreciate good customer service. Next time you go shopping at the mall, or eat at a restaurant, or anything 'customer service-y' - if you find someone who truly is working hard and does a good job - tell them/us - sometimes a simple "Thank you" can mean a LOT - or if they REALLY did a good job - call/email the company about them.
Also if any of my watchers went to iFC, please PLEASE send me, or any iFC staff member, feedback. We thought we did well this year - we want next year to ****ing kick @$$ ^_^ Be honest! What did you like, what didnt you like, what would you change, why is my punctuation so terrible in this journal.... ok don't answer that last one :p

Everybody needs a fursuit, I like to wear mine at the dance

although all fluorescent green might make me want to spew.

The best part about fursuits is,
most are so imagnitive
and a bit reflective
of the thoughts inside your head.

Everybody needs a fursuit – something I have always said
Just legs and arms don’t count you also have to have a head.

All my life i had lived alone in the dark. My eyes widened and yearned for any hint of light to brighten my surroundings, yet none appeared. I lived alone in my world for so long - searching, yet not knowing what it was i was truly searching for. One day, a candle appeared. It shone bright and hot - or so i thought. To one alone in the dark for so long a candle can seem as the sun. At first it was blinding, and maddening. But now, as time has passed, i see more clearly, in more ways than one. True - the candle illuminated parts of my world i thought i had truly known, yet had actually gone unseen for so long. However, the candle was, and is, just a candle. What i seek is the sun - the brightness and heat of that which i know exists, yet simply have not found yet. I no longer see the candle as a sun... but finding it has illuminated the path on which i may find the exit to my dark solitary world. I know not where i shall find my sun yet, but i am on the right path now, and someday, i shall flourish in its light and warmth.

Why it has taken so long for me to see everything clearly, I know not ...

Then again - i did drink a bunch of booze before heading to bed, and woke up at 3am with this stuck in my head - so maybe that had something to do with it ^_^

(what can i say... i've been doing a lot of story/song writing the last week or so - some day i'll have to post some of my stuff on here lol)

Just got back from FWA - my first one. Was fun. Didn't know anyone there except 1 or 2 people though - and i'm kinda shy even in suit so i didn't really get a chance to meet too many people. New head didn't arrive before i left but I *DO* have it now - will post a pic of it right before FCN, where it will make its debut. Kinda seems right to debut it at FCN anyways - it was my first convention 2 years ago in 2008 and my 2nd anniversary of being part of the fandom, and now i'll be debuting my second suit there :D
And if I can spur my creative thinking into overdrive i *might* have a furry version of an 80's song to sing at the FCN talent show ^_^
