Hey all! Melde here. This is a major announcement! As you might recall, Panhandle Furs has partnered with AnthroHUB on the Telegram messenger app. Well, we're taking it one step further! Upon much deliberation, we have decided to merge with AnthroHUB completely. This might seem scary, but I promise it's exciting! Allow me to explain:
The Panhandle Furs Fur Affinity page will remain open, but will no longer be active. Your lovely moderators (Melde and Theo) are now a part of the AnthroHUB team and will be migrating our PF way of doing things to the AnthroHUB FA page. We invite you to follow us over to our newest home on FA! The biggest difference you will see, besides the logo and the obvious switch to a new account, is that much of our interaction occurs on Telegram. While you are always welcome to post on the AnthroHUB FA page and the admins will always be there to update the page, we encourage you to join the Telegram chats for the most up-to-date information on events and the easiest way to meet other local furs.
Why we decided to merge: The AnthroHUB admin team consists of furs that have had a ton of experience running local groups, including the massive (now part of AnthroHUB) Gulf Coast Furs, and the Pensacola Furs Yahoo group before that. Their knowledge of growing furry groups into active communities is an amazing chance for the Pensacola Furs to continue to join local furs together. The AnthroHUB community already consists of a fantastic group of furs that we are incredibly excited to be a part of!

Furries on Telegram and other local groups?
Posted 9 years agoYou all have probably noticed we are pretty dead in this group. While I'll still keep updating the calendar and hosting events, I just wanted to let you all know about the exciting things organized by our friends in other groups!
We have a Telegram group! Well, anthroHUB has a Telegram group; but we are 100% affiliated with it! There are three groups that are a part of the HUB: The general chat (SFW), the mature chat (18+), and the events feed (SFW). The events feed will often feature the same events as on here, plus even more!
You can join any of them by contacting me (@dragonmelde) or the head of AnthroHUB (@CorporateKabba).
More excitement! We are working with the other regional admins (SCF, GCF, MobileFurs, AnthroHUB) for better coordination of events that should bring more fun to the community as a whole! Both SCF and MobileFurs are very active communities, both in person and on their various social media platforms, so I urge you all to check them out as well! Their FAs are all linked on our profile. We are very happy to be partnering with them!

You've probably noticed that we haven't been very active on here in a loooooong time. Real life gets in the way sometimes and unfortunately running a furry group got left behind. But now things are seeming to calm down and this group is back in business!
Keep an eye on on here for an updated event calendar! If you want to host an event, note us on here or to my personal account dragonmelde
You might have also noticed that we have partnered with AnthroHUB! They are another local furry group that has been running unaffiliated events for awhile now. They also have active Telegram groups! Unlike our group, their events are solely planned and announced on Telegram.
Don't worry, we aren't moving over to the app! All of our PanhandleFurs events will still be posted here in the monthly calendar. However, joining forces with AnthroHUB allows more furries to see both groups and an easy way of discussing events! I'm pretty excited about it!

HELP THE SEACREST WOLF PRESERVE!

Of probable great interest to area furs, the wonderful Seacrest Wolf Preserve in Chipley, Florida has recently suffered an egregious loss. One of their wolves which escaped during the recent extreme weather was intentionally and unlawfully killed by the local FWC branch, which had deceived and manipulated the Seacrest staff with clear and unarguable intent to kill a non-dangerous wolf they had every possible ability to recapture easily and humanely.

Posted 11 years agoSorry my dear friends! I was in my final semester of college last semester so I really didn't have time for anything other than school stuff. I'm so sorry! Now that I am graduated, I am going to try to get this group back up! Right now I don't have any events planned, but rest assured that I am getting my own schedule in order so I can host things once again.

Welcome Our New Mod!
Posted 12 years agoThat's right, we have a new mod for our little community! Please help me welcome theothefox!
Like many of you know, I have been super busy with classes and other real life things, so moderating Panhandle Furs has been low priority (not that I don't love you guys!). Theo so kindly mentioned he might be interested in helping me mod, so I kind of forced him into it XD (thanks dude!). Theo is an awesome person and a fantastic artist (go check him out, especially if vore is your thing!), so if you haven't had a chance to meet him at events, you're missing out! I'll still be around and trying to host as many events as possible, but if you need something, he is now a co-mod so we are sharing responsibilities for the group!
