Unexpected treasure
Posted 15 years agoTwo weekends ago and as a late decision, a few work buddies and I ventured up to country New South Wales, Australia for a friend's party. We caught an early flight to Sydney and killed some time. One thing I wanted to do was ride the monorail, and we stopped at Paddy's Markets just for a photo op, since some people call me Paddy.
While wandering through the markets, my friend spotted this amazing hat which looks like the head of a fox or a husky when you tilt your head down, with furry flaps down the side connected to a set of paws to stick your hands into. Although I felt a bit ridiculous, I walked around the streets of Sydney and partied all night with this hat on and absolutely loved it. I'm not much of an attention seeker, but I certainly enjoyed being a "noted character" of the night and having a few people come up and give me a scratch or a pat.
I've been wearing it again this weekend, down at the pub, at my place for drinks and at another party where I only knew a handful of people. It's got me excited about going to a furcon and maybe getting a fursuit soon too! And all because of some lucky decisions that led me to stumble upon some treasure!
