100 Freyjas!!
Posted 4 years agoMy wife Freyja and I created her vixen fursona back in late 2013 just in time for Christmas.
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/12312289/
Since then, she has become more and more enthusiastic for the furry fandom and we've both grown to love the character. We've seen her depicted by many talented artists, at all different ages and in many different contexts, for a total, so far, of 100 different images. Below is the gallery on Deviantart.

Update: Upcomings Cons
Posted 6 years agoYes, that's cons, plural!
My wife Freyja and I will be attending our first furry cons besides Anthrocon (which I have done four times total, twice with her).
We'll be attending Anthro Northwest this November, getting a chance to spend a week in Seattle, my first time going to the west coast in over 25 years.
Then we'll be heading to Furnal Equinox in March 2020, along with
ruinhorse and
charlesbunny , and possibly others! The "Retro Rewind" theme of this one is incidentally perfect for a special fursuit cosplay that we have in the works. And in a stroke of awesome luck (which really sealed the deal on this), I'll finally get to see my Lakers in person, as they are at the Raptors two days after the con!

Happy Holidays!
Posted 9 years agoBeen a while since my last journal and a lot has happened. Namely the potential end of civilization in the form of an orange human time bomb. More than ever, we'll need the Christmas spirit to get us through the darkness.
I was involved in a minor automobile accident last week, but no one was injured and all is well.
And finally, my children's book, illustrated by the wonderful Mariah Medlin is now available for online purchase.
http://www.blurb.ca/b/7435438-alain-et-julie
I want to thank her so much again for the work she's put in!
It's been a while since I did any art myself; it was during the holidays last year in fact. So I'll be taking requests or trades for holiday art up until Christmas once again.
Wishing you all the best of the season!

Returning to Anthrocon!
Posted 9 years agoLife is pretty, pretty, pretty good right now.
I recently got the new job I wanted, which is actually a return to my original job on a temporary basis, after which I'll be exactly where I want to be in St. John's. So much less travel away from home for now and eventually none at all.
At this most happy time, I'll be traveling to Pittsburgh for Anthrocon for the third time (first time since 2013) and this time my wife's coming with me. This is our only trip for the rest of this year so we're planning to really go all out and have a sensational time. Love the Roaring 20s theme this year. My wife, while not up to wearing a full suit, is getting a fox tail and ears, which should be here soon. Also, I've already got a couple of sweet badges pre-ordered that we'll be picking up at the con and we'll undoubtedly be looking to commission more art while we're there as well. So anyone else who's going, have an eye for us!
Also, planning to meet up with friend of a friend
tomazilla to exchange some badges/art.

Our first Christmas as Mister and Missus
Posted 10 years agoVery excited for the upcoming holiday season. Christmas is one month away! It's been an amazing year, with a new job, seeing U2 in Montreal and, of course, marrying Brittany and our honeymoon in New York City.
I'll be taking requests or trades for holiday-themed art once again this year. It's been a while since I've done some art; will be nice to get back into it!
Additionally, my novel is now available as an ebook www.amazon.com/dp/B018EVI58U@
Either the electronic or paperback version makes a great gift!

Wedding Day!
Posted 10 years agoMarrying the foxy love of my life tomorrow. After over a year of planning, it's all come together into one day. I'm grateful for the support we have received from family and friends; the efforts of all will surely make it the most magical day and night ever.

Afterward, we'll be Honeymooning in New York City. We'll be seeing three Broadway shows (Kinky Boots, Fun Home and a sign-language utilizing revival of Spring Awakening. Also going to definitely properly see Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum (two things that were rushed in my previous NYC trip).
Anyone with greetings on wedding day, you can post them on your social media platform of choice with #PrattanyWedding

Wedding, new job, storytelling
Posted 10 years agoMy wedding is now less than four months away. Invitations have been sent out and most everything is really coming together! The main task that remains is writing the ceremony. So exciting!
I commissioned a furry wedding portrait from
talkstodogs
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16650332
We both adore it and much thanks to her!
I've gotten a new job recently, one that will involve some travel. I've just returned from Central Newfoundland, a tour of four towns; saw some amazing icebergs north of Twillingate.
Finally, with the Stanley Cup finals on the go, I've been thinking again about my Alain et Julie story and where I will take it going forward. I certainly hope that they get to see the Canadiens bring home the Cup in the next few years! But that'll have to wait at least another year. I'm also pondering if Alain and Julie should have another cub. It would have to be pretty soon, as Julie will soon be beyond her reproductive years. Any fans have an opinion?

Pay what you want Valentines
Posted 10 years agoI've had fun doing a couple of vintage-style Valentines for friends, with water color pencils.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15601943/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15628464/
I'd like to offer them to anyone who'd like on a pay-what-you-want basis - just a few bucks, most likely. My skill is modest, but I think they're pretty cute! Trades are also a possibility.
Happy V-Day to all. It's my second one with my fiancée and this time next year we'll be husband and wife! I'm very grateful for all I have and aware that not everyone is so lucky.
For anyone still single who doesn't want to be, I was in the same situation for many, many years. Take heart; it's amazing how quickly things can change!

One Month Til Christmas! Requests?
Posted 11 years agoDespite all the bad things happening in the world, it is one month until the big day! So for the purposes of this journal, I am wishing you all a very Happy Holidays!
It has been an amazing year for me to say the least; a new house, a new job, a new cat; trips to Florida, Montreal and the UK and my engagement! I hope everyone has a New Year as good as the one I just had.
Once again I will be offering requests or trades for holiday themed art. Anyone with an idea, let me know!

Greatest Hits - Five Years and 100 Submissions on FA
Posted 11 years agoI've been on Furaffinity for a little over five years and have finally reached 100 submissions. I've gotten 222 favorites or 2.22 per submission, far exceeding my initial goal of 1 per submission on average. So, I'm not exactly popu-fur yet, but am appreciated by a scattered person at least!
Here are a few highlights by the numbers:
Most favorites: Rarity! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8444823/
This amazing MLP fursuit seen at Anthrocon 2012 has proven consistently popular.
Most Comments: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6753060/
This wolf Jack O'Lantern from 2011 caught a lot of eyes.
Most Views: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8709344/
Ironically my most viewed submission was a non-visual piece: the third part of my Alain and Julie story (the one with sex in it, unsurprisingly). This was also my most favorited work of writing.
Most favorites (drawing) - A tie with 4 each "Hockey Night Babysitting" http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7807106/ and "One-horse Open Sleigh" http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3126900/ both featuring
twisterhusky
The latter makes me kinda sad actually, as it features my best furry friends all happy together in a less contentious time. Wish we could go back to that, but that's it.
What was your favorite work from my gallery? What would you like to see more of? Feel free to comment!
Numerical breakdown
Submissions: 9 Writings 39 Drawings 51 Photos and 1 File used for Kiribans and such
Favorites 18 on Writings (avg 2), 36 on drawings (avg 0.92) and 168 on photos (avg 3.29)

Assumption meme - and engagement!
Posted 11 years agoStolen from

Here's how it works:
Write a comment with an assumption you have about me and I'll let you know if it's true or not!
In other news, I recently returned from the United Kingdom, a wonderful time, the highlight of which was proposing to my mate in Oxford!

Holidays Holidays! Requests?
Posted 12 years agoAnother year is almost at an end and it was certainly a memorable one for me. A quick run-through: my long time co-worker won a $30 Million lottery, I presented on furry fandom at Sci-Fi on the Rock VII, went to New York, went to Pittsburgh for Anthrocon (including an unscheduled extended stay in PA due to the weather in Toronto) and I released my first novel, which has now sold over 60 copies worldwide. And of course, I've found the love of my life!
I hope everyone's holidays are as good as mine are going to be! I'd like to do a bit of holiday art, though I don't really have any ideas. I'm open for requests or trades, so if you have one let me know!

In other news, to go along with the release of my novel (sold nearly fifty copies so far), I've now completed the word portion of my children's book, which is a shortened simplified version of my series about hockey-loving French-Canadian canines Alain and Julie. To make this complete, I will need an illustrator of course, so if anyone is interested, please let me know. :)

In other news, I'm back from an extended stay in Pittsburgh. Anthrocon was great fun once again; can't wait to attend with some friends someday!
On the first attempt at a trip home, I experienced a double wammy of my flight being cancelled AND my luggage misplaced, but all is well now.
Anthrocon?
Posted 12 years agoI'm in a bit of a dilemma here.
Basically, my plans for Anthrocon with
elysium and
animalgirl79 have fallen through on their end, due to a series of unfortunate events... I'm left with a hotel room with room for four and a flight to Pittsburgh. I think I could probably at least get a credit for the flight, and I don't mind losing the deposit on the hotel, but I'm kind of vacillating back and forth as to whether to go it alone at this point. Only thing is I need to decide in the next couple of days, if I want to get my registration money back. I fear I'm going to regret whatever I decide lol

In general news, things are mostly going very well. I had an amazing trip to New York City with my family, my skill at horsemanship continues to progress and I now have my first real girlfriend (though this is actually a different person than the one mentioned in my last journal a couple of months ago lol) It's been a long time coming but it was totally worth the wait!
