I guess we're doing this?
Posted 3 years agoHey there everyone! Its been a terribly long time since I've made a habit of posting and consistently producing content, so I want to thank those of you who have stuck with me and stayed loyal followers and viewers. Life has changed an awful lot in these past few years with COVID-19 being a massive influence on our lives and I'll admit, with it showing no signs of letting up any time soon, the food delivery (second) job is looking less and less worth the effort. As such, I'm going to be focusing on something a little more fun and creative and I need YOUR guys' help to do it! I am opening commissions full time again and would love any and all support I can get to make my upcoming plans for this year a reality!
So far, this is what I have planned for this year:
- Launch an official Discord for the brand
- Attend Anthrocon 2022
- Attend Furrydelphia 2022
- Attend MFF 2022
- Attend Furpocalypse 2022
- Launch a professional website for both my artistic and voice acting ventures
- Launch a line of merchandise for both apparel and art for con season 2023
With your help, we can make this happen! For commission work, feel free to reach out to me via email at combatspace@live.com or to volunteer your assistance! I cannot thank you all enough for being awesome contributors and supporters and I look forward to making these plans for this year and next a reality!
For the record, I am now active on the following platforms at the following links:

NYFB 2021 and updates.
Posted 3 years agoWell shit. 4 years its been since I wrote up a journal for you poor, unfortunate souls. A lot has happened since 2018; two major relationships come and gone, three groundbreaking career moves, car paid off, making the choice to transition and officially go on hormones, living on my own in the heart of Wilmington, DE now with a new motorcycle and a bunch of awesome new friends. COVID looming overhead nearly the entire time. Sheesh, its been such a ride and I'm so thankful to my incredible family and furry friends for supporting me so much in these confusing times.
Alas, we've made it to 2022. So far it's shaping up to be more of the same, but its another year for us to make resolutions for that we know we won't keep. Speaking of, I had the pleasure of attending this year's New Year's Furry Ball here in Newark, DE which is practically in my back yard, hosted by the awesome Furst State Foundation. Furst State Foundation is a group of Delaware local furs organizing social and charity events throughout the year culminating in the pawsome party that is New Year's Furry Ball. This year they did some incredible numbers for attendance, charity money raised, and did so all while ensuring the safest possible environment despite the pandemic. Truly, massive props to the staff and volunteers who made it all happen. Check them out over at https://www.thefurststate.com/ I really wish I'd taken more pictures of everything, but with the festivities at such a fast pace and the convention only officially lasting the one night, I was moving too quickly to really take a breath.
Looking forward into 2022, I am hugely grateful for the position this new career has put me in and I'm working harder than ever to make sure it sticks. I'm in the best place I've been in a very long time, and while the finances can be a little tricky now and again, I have a primo studio apartment in a desirable part of the city, I've signed the paperwork on a new motorcycle (pics incoming) and have been having an absolute blast on it. The noise it makes paired with the soul displacing acceleration is just unreal; Such an experience. Also, I have started dating again, which is something I thought I'd sworn off after breaking off the engagement back in September. These two incredible came into my life rather suddenly and tickle my brain in all the best ways I haven't felt in years. So far things are going really well and I'm so glad to have these people in my life right now. The gods know all too well I need the help. I've also been taking my spirituality much more seriously in these last few months. I'm now starting to build a small library of reference material and components, collaborating and mentoring a few young souls and helping them find their way. All in all, between the transition, my spiritual growth, and the love I've come to cultivate in my friends and family, 2022 is looking to be one of the most affirming years I've ever had, and I couldn't be happier.
Also, for those of you interested in picking up a commission, I've posted some new adverts over on my official commission page:

ANTHROKHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!
Posted 8 years agoSo yeah, I am so stoked to go. I have from wednesday allllllllllll the way through Monday off work and I am already getting antsy. My boyfriend and I are not leaving until tomorrow, which gives me allllllll night to work on this door sign that i was totally supposed to do like...a week ago? Bah! No matter, it will get done. For those of you going, I hope to see you there, and for those of you who can't...well tough cookies; maybe next year. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and may even upload them here!
Welp, I done did it...
Posted 9 years agoSo I finally ending buying a few commissions and frankly, now I feel obligated to pick up the pen again, myself. BAD COMBAT!!!!
But seriously, I really have been wanting to draw more lately and haven't due to my crippling perfectionism...its especially bad when sketching digitally, because its so easy to simple CRTL+A and delete everything. I have found that by sketching traditionally and transposing those to digital media for finishing, I can actually make more progress. At least, I hope I can manage that...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!
Posted 10 years agowell...technically it was yesterday, but whatever. Anyways, I had an awesome time this past weekend. Saturday night a friend took me out to dinner and a comedy show in NYC and Sunday night my parents took me dinner as well. Got a few things I've been wanting for a while now, including a vape so I can finally make the push to stop smoking...only my stupid butt didnt quite do the research I thought I did...apparently cigarettes only have a nicotine content equivalent to 6mg...and I asked for 18mg. So...smoke breaks are very...short, lol. Also got a new processor for my computer, that I look forward to installing when I get the rest of my upgrade parts in. So yeah, just a short update this time around. Always feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions.
Til next time!
Til next time!
Jersey Devil Furbowl and more!
Posted 10 years agoFirst and foremost, I'd like to thank everyone who attanded and supported this pawesome event. Final attendance count was sixteen (or more...?) people which I find astonishing considering the competition with two other northeaster events also being held this weekend. Its you guys that really make this event worthwhile. While I know not everyone bowled, the general consensus was that everyone had a blast and we look forward to seeing this event grow into a permanent installment for the New Jersey area. THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!!!
Also, I know that I said I would closing down commissions for the time being while I worked on some personal art, but with so many people attending, it was hard to resist the influx of business. As such, I did take some orders while at this event and I look forward to working on all of them. In fact, I had an awesome NY fur commission me for a sketch which I managed to crank out while hosting the Artist's Alley table. Look for that to be uploaded shortly. Thank you
raikuma for allowing me to pop your commission cherry!
Current commission queue:
-BluffytheHusky (Digital Bust Badge)
-Whistler the Punk Rock Wolf (Digital Bust Badge)
-Azu Gabu (Digital Bust Badge)
-Korrie (Digital Bust Badge)
-Darrius (Digital Bust Badge)
-Vixks (Digital Bust Badge)
-DavidStorm (5x 500x500px Headshot Avatars)
Looks like I've got a lot of work ahead of me so keep an eye out for lots of uploads here on my commission page!

10/22/15 Update
Posted 10 years agoHey guys! So here soon I will be shutting down commissions to pursue some more of my personal art. I have a few ref sheets of my characters I want to do (Quota, Combat, Cheri and Monte) as well as some doodling with subjects I haven't touched too much on in a while: Females. While Cheri is a female character, she is going to be redesigned into a Charr, and won't be a sultry, busty, voluptuous woman. I have a few people in mind for the pieces I'm wanting to do, but if you want to volunteer your female character for sketches, I'll gladly take suggestions. (Note: This does not guarantee art...)

Caen under control again, new friends, and a convention!!!!
Posted 10 years agoSo with my last update I was in a bit of a rut over some of my coworkers and how they operate and realistically how my new job operates as a whole. Now, after working there for over a month, I feel confident in saying I am one of the hardest working people there, and I've accepted that. When it comes time for reviews and raises, the leadership already knows what's going on and trying to make a difference in the dynamic would only end poorly. They say that patience is a virtue...
Also, I've been much more active in the community as of late (like the past few months) and have been connecting a lot with other local furres. As with normal people, some are great, some are not so much, but when you find the right people, you like to keep them close. I've been attending a regular meet in the central New Jersey area and have met a lot of awesome furres. Unfortunately, I don't know if all (or any...) of them have FA accounts, so here's a shoutout to Dante, Pryde, Shy, Azu and all the other awesome furres I've met since moving from Texas. You guys have made a huge, positive difference in my life so far and I want to thank you all!
Finally, I will be attending FA:U tomorrow so expect to see me wandering about. Keep an eye out for the Jersey Furs like Beeton, Shy, Chal, Matt Fox and the rest of the gang! I hope to see you guys there and if any of you, my followers, are going to be there, feel free to drop by and say hello! I will likely be wearing my HI! shirt from Rukis for the Sunday festivities and I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to pack for tomorrow evening...hm...
Anyways, as always, I am taking black and white badge commissions. I will be selling them for $15 plus shipping (which should be negligible) and this will include lamination and a lanyard. Drop me a line on my commissions page:

Welp...Caen is taking the reigns again... >.>"
Posted 10 years agoSo I've really been trying to make sure I don't let my emotions get the better of me lately, but these past few days at work have been so damn infuriating I just need a good emotional release...like punching a baby...in the face...with a screwdriver. Recognizing that I'm back in this emotional pattern, it would seem that Quota has taken a back seat to representing who I am, and Caen stepped in...or maybe Caen was all like "step aside, I'll handle this...*clears throat and cracks knuckles* RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR!!!!"
Either way. Yeah...I'm angry. But I'm employed, so I can't complain. Still...grrrr.

Finally!!!! New reference sheet is up.
Posted 11 years agoAfter a grueling 8 hours of working, erasing, deleting, starting over and over again, I finally finished my new reference sheet for my current fursona, Quota. He underwent some minor changes this time around as I started to really think about his design and what he is meant to express. Anyways, my hand is absolutely killing me...I think it's pretty much done for today. Be sure to check in with me periodically for new submissions or just to say hi. I'm cool like that.
Ciao!
Ciao!
Still here...again, I guess.
Posted 11 years agoI am getting better about checking out my pages, but I am currently in the process of looking back at some of my old projects and seeing what can be salvaged...I may just upload everything that hasn't yet been uploaded and work from there. Share your thoughts?
Still here.
Posted 12 years agoYes, people, I am still here. I haven't been submitting anything lately due to a new job and a muse that seems to be failing. Regardless, if you need to talk to me or bounce ideas off of me, feel free to note me or send me a shout.
I may be uploading some stuff here soon, but there's no guarantees.
Cheers!

Soooo, totally off topic...
Posted 12 years agoI just saw a piece here in the recent submissions that made me think about some things...a female furry artist uploaded a picture addressing the fact that she has been getting a lot of "Do you have a boyfriend?" questions lately, to which she replies that she is of the other persuasion. This made me think. On the furry personal site that i frequent (i'm trying to meet some furry peoples in my area) there is a whole section dedicated to people bitching and complaining about not being able to find a "mate." The majority of these individuals are teenage males that are straight and when it comes down to it, very socially awkward. To this, I offer some advice:
1. Stop using the word "mate", its annoying, its used out of context and generally gets people thinking about a lifetime relationship. For some (most, IMO) this can be scary and the idea of commitment is too much to handle when first attempting to reach out to someone. Also, this immediately implies that sex is involved and may also imply that creating a family is involved. That's plain creepy to mention on the first date.
2. Stop looking for a lifetime partner. Looking for someone to spend the rest of your life with means having unrealistic expectations of what you want from someone. Look instead for someone to be your friend, or if its your thing, a fuckbuddy. You can always work things up from there, but if you don't let anyone get close, you're never going to find anyone.
3. Look outside the fandom. Personally, I think this is the best advice I can give anyone, EVER! There are a few reasons for this...First, the fandom is saturated with people of alternative persuasions, which means straight furries are hard to come by, let alone single ones. The likelihood of a teenage, straight, socially awkward male finding an equally teenage, straight, socially awkward female in the furry community is slim, though it does happen. Instead, there are plenty of nerdy, straight girls out there in the world that will have no problem with you dressing up like an animal. In fact, if you can, find one who likes cosplaying and they'll be more than happy to accompany you in their best japanese schoolgirl outfit...Personally, I have only had one furry partner since I joined the fandom four years ago, and I've been perfectly happy with the other non-furries I've dated since. Sure it took a bit of explaining of what the fandom is, but if someone really likes you, they really won't give a damn. Second, furries tend to have a stigma related to their species, you'll be setting yourself up for failure if you immediately make assumptions based on their species...by dating outside the fandom, you don't have those stigmas associated with you and you have the chance to (believe it or not) get to know someone.

Wooooooow, its been a looooong time...
Posted 12 years agoSo anyways, I'm still alive and well living in Wichita Falls. Times have been a little rough lately what with losing three jobs in as many months and the bills piling up around me....yeesh! Things are looking up though, I have a promising new job opportunity, just single-handedly (and fairly successfully, I might add) rooted two Samsung phones in a night, fixed three computers (all of which are mine and are becoming ancient, decrepit, pieces of- erhhem...sorry, where was I? Ah yes, I will be officially taking commissions on my other page
until further notice. There will be no slots, there will be no limits, and the prices of the larger pieces will be slashed!!!!!! Well, maybe not that dramatically, but hopefully I can generate some revenue. Feel free to PM me on my other page about commissions, or if you have a question for me, I can be reached here.

Taking commission...
Posted 13 years agoSo, now that I feel I have gotten past the point of confusion in my life where my spirituality is no longer a question and I have a stable job, I will be reopening commissions on my old account in full swing. If you have any questions or concerns about my prices and what not, please send a note to my
combatspace account and I will happy to answer it for you.
That said, this account will be used strictly for my personal art, gifts, requests, other stuff not related to commissions.
Thank you for supporting me!

It has come to my attention..
Posted 13 years agothat people may not fully understand the reasons behind why I change my fursona so often. Since I started Rp'ing with anthro characters way back when I believe I've a grand total of nine separate characters used to identify me. That said, there were always design changes and what not within those nine characters and thus if you count design changes, I've had something more to the effect of 20+ unique designs to express myself on the internet.
THAT SAID:
My idea of a fursona is similar to an outfit you wear when you're in the mood for it. I can just as easily step back into one of my old sona's or create a new one as I could go to the store and buy a new shirt, pants and boots. If that makes me a *not* furry, so be it.

Finally changing my fursona again...
Posted 13 years agoand this time, it will more accurately reflect how i feel about my involvement with the furry community. I'm not that cutesy, adorable, wants-everyones's-attention-even-at-my-own-expense type of person like I may have led on with my last few characters. This one is more...bland, more fitting for my personality and how I wish to be seen and interacted with. It also will express how I see myself on a deeper level in terms of emotionally and mentally rather than spiritually (like my last character did) or sexually (as the one before my last did). Expect to see a picture of it soon as my tablet pen mysteriously disappeared in the three moves I've had to do in the past three months.
As for an update on my current state:
As stated, I have had to move and change residences three times in the past three months. For those of you who don't know, moving is a real pain in the ass and an extremely stressful situation. Once the Air Force decided my obligation had been "fulfilled" I was jobless for three weeks following my discharge. Since, I've started a well paying job here in Wichita Falls and have a wonderful boyfriend who (drunkenly) proposed to me last night (you can bet your ass I'll be making sure he didn't just do it because of the alcohol...). I've gotten a new car and am in the process of slowly modifying it to my liking. Now that I can relax for at least a little while, I will be picking up the pencil again and trying to reestablish a connection with my artistic roots by designing tattoos and doing personal art. I will still be offering commissions, but at my discretion. Basically, if you want me to draw something for you, let me know but don't expect me to go chasing the almighty dollar with sketchbook in hand.
TL;DR: I'm still alive.
