Commission changes
Posted a year agoHola! Just a quick update on the way I'm taking comms + some price changes.
First off, I now have a commission form! This should streamline the process somewhat and make things more convenient, especially for people who don't have/use FA. I've gone ahead and added links to the form to the original 'commissions open' journal as well.
Secondly, I've adjusted the prices on most of my options, and I'll now list the changes like video game patch notes because that's the only way I can think to do it:
+ Halfbody (Simple): $15 > $20
+ Fullbody (Simple): $20 > $30
- Icon (Rendered): $15 > $10
+ Halfbody (Rendered): $20 > $40
+Fullbody (Rendered: $40 > $60
Lastly, I've gotten rid of the 'Scene' item and instead replaced it with the option to add a detailed background and/or additional characters. These will be considered 'extras' that you can slap onto any of the other items. Their prices are:
Background: $20
Additional character: $30
That's about it! Thanks for reading, I love you.

Commissions open
Posted a year agoFor I think the first time, I'm opening commissions publicly. As such, I don't have a dedicated journal for guidelines or terms of agreement yet, but I'll have a FAQ at the bottom. For now, check out this handy dandy page to see commission options and pricing. If anything is unclear, you can shoot me a note here on FA or email me (pawnking2212020@hotmail.com).
If you're interested in a commission, comment below so we can get things rolling - or fill out this form for a more streamlined process.
FAQ:
Q: I'm interested, but I don't know what to comment.
A: It's best to keep things short and direct. "I would like a commission", or even a simple "Me!" is enough. If your wording is vague or your interest is buried at the tail end of a paragraph, that's not helping anyone. Alternatively, you can fill out the form linked above.
Q: What happens after I comment?
A: I'll send you a note on FA to ascertain/confirm which option you'd like. If communication is too slow over notes, we may exchange Discord information.
Q: How do I pay?
A: Payment should be sent to pawnking2212020@hotmail.com via PayPal. You have the option of sending half of the payment once things are finalized and the rest upon completion, or you can send the full payment up front. Either way, note that progress on your commission will not start until payment is received.
Q: I forgot to tell you something when finalizing my commission. What should I do?
A: For the options labeled '(Simple)', it's best to contact me with any corrections as soon as possible (please do your best to keep it contained within a single message. Bombarding me will not help).
For all other commission options, wait until a WIP is sent your way. At the end of each phase (sketch, ink, color, render), I will send you a WIP file. You will have 24 hours to issue feedback and corrections, after which progress will resume.
Q: My commission is taking too long. How do I get a refund?
A: If a commission is not completed within 30 days of the initial payment, a refund will automatically be given. Naturally, this also means progress will be permanently stopped.
Q: I'm not satisfied with my commission. Can I get a refund?
A: If you are wholly dissatisfied with the final WIP file sent to you, you may cancel for a partial refund. The amount refunded will be half your initial payment. If you have approved the final WIP, a refund will no longer be possible.
Q: 30 days passed, but I didn't want a refund. Can't you continue my commission?
A: If you wish to have your commission continued in spite of the passed deadline, contact me. All stages of every WIP will be saved, so progress can be resumed if payment is re-sent. Your place in the queue will also be reclaimed.

not into adoptables? you are now
Posted 2 years agoi've decided that you have an avid interest in adoptables and that you should check out the daily adoptables my friend is posting for super affordable prices.
pokemon ocs? got 'em. fantasy races like dragborn and kenku for your d&d games? got 'em. miscellaneous ocs that aren't either of those two things? also there. some come bundled under a theme, and others are even paired and are cheaper together. if you are still reading this instead of checking out her journal for more details, i will cast a hex upon you so that you will feel mildly guilty for not checking it out. you don't want to be hexed now, do you? i've decided you don't, so get out of here.

as you may have guessed, i successfully moved into a new house despite your attempts to kill me. not only that, but i am continuing with my super secret project which is still 40 years from completion. i will not stop working on it even if my skeleton is ground into dust, so please put that bone saw away, jennifer.
as for things that aren't my super secret project, you can still expect porn at the same old infrequent rate i've forcefully conditioned you to grow accustomed to. i mean, i uploaded a picture of a snake jacking off a few days ago. that was pretty cool, right? what more do you want from me? my soul? i don't have one, and i never will. please put your soul saw away.
anyway,

Posted 5 years agoi'll be moving house on wednesday so don't expect me to be very active for the next few days. don't expect me to be active for the next few weeks, either. matter of fact, don't even fucking look at me. what? what're you gonna do, shoot me? This is a fucking journal, Carol. You can't shoot me through the computer, and even if you could, I would dodge your bullets with my incredibly fast reflexes, okay? But it's cool; I get it. You want to prove that you can do this - that you're not the coward they said you are. Well, go ahead, try and kill me. You haven't got what it takes, and you never will.

in other news, porn is good. i'll still be drawing debauchery at my usual slow and staggered rate, but just know that there's a super cool project being worked on. "but pawn, are you sure this incredible, amazing project won't impede you in drawing gay ivysaur ass, or whatever it is you draw? it's been like 5 years since your last upload so i forget what kind of stuff you make lmao." hey well first off that's rude, and secondly: yes i'm sure. like, i already said it wouldn't. you never listen, do you? huh? you just never fucking listen. well that's fine.

Creatively torn (nondramatic vent)
Posted 6 years agohey what's up fellow youtubers, it's ya boy fucksmyowngrandma79 and today i'm gonna be talking about the fact i can no longer decide what i wanna do. let's list them off because lists are cool. i want to:
- draw several pictures i have ideas for
- write several stories i have in mind
- make an rpg, a platformer, a fighting game, a dating sim, learn blender, unity, and get better with game maker
- learn to compose music
- practice animation
- draw several comics
"but pawn," you scream, digging into the earth to find the root of all evil. "why don't you buckle down and just do one thing at a time, you fucking slut?" well jennifer (this is your legal name now), that is good advice and you are correct to suggest such a method; however, fuck you. each thing on this list would prolly take months/years to learn/do, and while i do want to do these things, i feel like another solution would be to just trim the fat. the problem is, i'm not sure what to trim.
drawing makes me better at art, which i need if i want to make games.
writing helps me get better at story-telling, which i need if ever want a good script for a game.
learning blender would definitely be a good thing to have under my belt, since 3d modeling is such a big part of the game industry.
unity and game maker are also pretty big, and coding is probably the area i need the most work in. knowing how to program in 2 languages would be very handy.
music is nearly a necessity for most games, so if i learn to compose my own music, i won't have to put that responsibility on someone else.
animation means i can move the art assets i make for my game. obviously useful and not a skill i want rusting.
comics are the only area that don't really contribute, but even then, i have ideas that are scratching the inside of my head wanting to get out.
i know from a logical standpoint i should start doing one of these things instead of wringing my hands, but it's just a discombobulating experience. i think writing this journal has helped clear my head and given me some kind of plan of attack, though, so thanks for listening, jennifer. i hope you find the root of all evil

xenoblade chronicles 2 rant
Posted 7 years agoi have feelings about this game so i'm going to type words so that maybe i will feel these feelings a little less.
- Ffuuuccckiinnnggg tutorial simulator. I don't mean this in a pompous, arrogant way, but I am legitimately curious how this game has such positive reviews. Every 30 seconds a prompt is thrown at you explaining a game mechanic, most of which are obvious - or at least not obscure enough to require a tutorial. "But pawn, this game has a billion mechanics, they need these tutorials so that--" why. why do they need this many mechanics. That in itself can be considered a fault, but this excuse also implies there are literally no other methods of teaching other than pop-up text boxes. Which is proven false by the game itself when it displays a FFufucking LADDER icon above a climbable object, and yet STILL feels the NEED to SHOVE a PROMPT onto YOUR screen TO TELL you HOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW to CLIMB. With WORDS. HHHHHHHHHHHHHH,
- But let's put aside the tutorials and focus on the other 8% of the game, namely the sound design. The sound design is awful. There are way too many repeating voice clips, there's no ambient sound in cutscenes, and there's very few sound effects. If you're not hearing dialogue in a cutscene, you're hearing radio silence or a single sound effect with too much emphasis. If you manage to find a part of the game that isn't a cutscene or a tutorial, then "LET'S SHOW THEM A THING OR THREE" is mostly what you'll be listening to. The protag repeats this line at the start of every battle, and also enemies are incredibly common. I think everybody who playtested this had their volume turned off, or maybe getting professional sound designers was too expensive. "But Pawn there's a lot of voice work in the game already, you can't expect them to record more than one line of dialogue for the start of a battle", cool then just use zero lines of dialogue. Also the voice acting sucks, but maybe it's because everybody's lines are so ffuccking isolated that the lack of quality stands out. You know, because the total absence of background noise. Also can we talk about the fact that fucking uhhhhhhhhh
- The writing in this game is Bad. The exposition is hamfisted, obvious and way too drawn-out, everybody is at least 5 tropes played as straight as possible, and there's a real, actual cutscene in the game where somebody sneaks up behind the main character, stabs him, and says "Nothing personal." I'm sorry?? Sorry???????? S? Soorrry>???? Is this a real game or an edgelord RPing a broken character? Why is everything wrong??
If you like running in open fields and real-time RPG combat, then 2% of this game is probably for you. If you like incompetently directed cutscenes, painful exposition/bad writing in general, tutorials, 500 different mechanics with absolutely no hint of focus or cohesion in their inception, shoddy voice work, and hate the idea of paying sound designers, then 98% of this game is probably for you.
