12 Year Update
General | Posted 11 months agoI'm literally only writing this to make the ancient journal entry get off my page, because goddamn it's cringey looking back on yourself from a decade ago.
If any of you are members of y-gallery...
General | Posted 13 years ago...you might want to go and take a look at the most recent news post. I didn't realize what it actually meant until a friend of mine pointed it out to me, and I think site admin AsianDude probably worded it that way on purpose.
The TOS has been updated -- without consulting the community or even his staff beforehand -- to turn y-gallery from a m/m refuge, to what amounts to a generic "anything-but-bestiality-goes" art site. His excuse? "We have more space, so we don't need to limit content."
AsianDude, if you really, truly think that's why y-gallery was dedicated to m/m media, I think you seriously misunderstood things when you took on the admin position. But the disgusting thing is, I don't really think you're that unaware. No, I think you purposefully did everything this way -- the sneaky wording, the lack of consultation with staff, the conveniently dropping out of sight afterwards, even the inability to contact you directly via e-mail, all of it -- because you knew how it would go over with the community: exactly as terrible as it's going.
That's just slimy.
ETA: The TOS has been reverted back to it's original "males only" state, either by a certain admin frantically backtracking in the wake of massive backlash (likely from his advertisers as well as the community), or by a pro-active mod taking matters into their own hands. If it's the former... way to dig your hole even deeper, AsianDude, by not making a peep of admission or apology. Still, good to see it's back to what it was.

Rivendare Is a Troll...
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I've been playing WoW for about 7.5 years, and for at least six of those I've been farming Undead Strat for the Baron's mount. I gave up for a while during my most recent break, then tonight after I finished RPing with some friends, randomly decided to poke the place once or twice.

RMFC 2012 Report!
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I'm back from my very first con ever -- RMFC 2012 -- and I had a blast! I roomed with sidian, bierzun, and ralley and they were great at helping me find my footing. I met all sorts of great people, including a couple from Laramie (*waves at wafflestheraccoon*), and spent way too much money, which I hear is normal for your first convention. XD I already can't wait to go again next year, so thanks to everyone who made my first real con such a great experience.

Home Again, Home Again
General | Posted 13 years agoBack from sidian's place and had a BLAST. Ended up staying an extra day, although that might also be because Saturday night ended up becoming very early Sunday morning before we made it home from game night. Saw Magic Mike that afternoon and we were all terribly amused by the old couple that got up and left halfway through. Maybe they were offended that there were TWO boob shots in a movie about male strippers. :O
Came home to find that my comics from FurPlanet had arrived, so I had something to read tonight. :3 Going to take them to RMFC and hopefully get Rukis to sign them. I'm really excited for the con now, especially since the furs I met in Utah seemed so nice and fun.
P.S. Balloon volleyball is BEST GAME EVER.

Utah WTF
General | Posted 13 years agoCurrently taking up part of
sidian's couch while we all look for terrible movies because apparently that's what you do in Utah at midnight? :P Had some awesome sushi at 930 at night and fell in love with all her animals and even the drive was easy. Really looking for the rest of the weekend. There -are- other furries in the world!

Fucking People...
General | Posted 15 years agoAnd their fucking "outdoor" cats. Seriously, fuck you. Your cat belongs IN-FUCKING-DOORS, not just for the cat's health, but for the health of every small walking, crawling, scurrying, and flying thing in your neighborhood. Outdoor cats are a goddamn MENACE.
In our front yard today, we found an injured robin. Her tail was completely gone (not just ragged or missing a few feathers, but GONE) and one wing was all torn up. I can almost guarantee you it was someone's fucking outdoor cat that did it. I tried to catch her, to take her to the local rehabilitation center, but she got away from me and I lost her in some bushes. I'm really hoping she shows up again, because I'm worried that if she doesn't, she's doomed to a slow death of thirst and/or starvation, if she isn't lucky enough to be picked off by some predator.
Fuck you, irresponsible cat owner. Fuck you sideways in the ass with a rusty pitchfork.

General | Posted 16 years agoIs there any way to turn off journal notifications for your watch list? Because the vast majority of people that I +watch, I really don't care about the adorable thing their [insert pet here] did this morning, or that movie they watched last night, or what they had for breakfast last week.
Does that make me sound callous? XD

The Furry Meme, ganked from Catcubus :D
General | Posted 16 years ago*Are you a furry?
I suppose you could say I am, although I prefer the term "anthro", because "furry" tends to have a lot of negative stereotypes associated with it.
*If you have a Spouse/SO - Is he/she a furry too?
I'm single at the moment, but the closest thing I have to a girlfriend right now, yes, she's also anthro.
*How long have you been in the community?
8 to 10 years, I guess? It's been a while.
*How did you find furry?
I was into anthro animals long before I found "furry": Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Street Sharks, hell, even Care Bears. I don't actually remember how I got into the online community.
*What's your reason for furry (what interested you to get into the community)?
Mostly the art. I'm fairly (read: very) quiet in the community itself. I mostly hang around to enjoy the pretty pictures, and also to indulge in a few kinks that are less accepted "outside" than they are among furries. Also RP. :P
*What's Furry to you?
This is too complicated a question to answer at 9 in the morning!
*If someone found out you're a furry and asked you about it how would you respond?
Yes, I'm furry. No, whatever stereotype you're thinking of, I'm not it.
*What are your favorite aspects of our community?
I'd have to say the art, plus some of the neat people I've met. :3
*Do you use any furry terms? (i.e. yiff, paws, murr?)
No. Most of those terms I associate with people who get a little too scary deep into the fandom.
*What do you wish furry was NOT associated with?
The fucked up sexual stuff, because that's what the world in general now associates with furry, which is why I actually even dislike using the word "furry". You mention it and people immediately think things like sex in fursuits, bestiality, weird shit (literally) like dirty diapers being a turn on, things like that. I hate having to constantly feel like I have to defend myself to "outsiders" as someone who DOESN'T do those things.
*How strongly do you feel about someone bashing the community as a whole?
I don't feel much of anything at all, to be honest, because I understand where they're probably coming from. Hell, I myself have something of a love/hate relationship with the community, because there are some really sick fucks in it.
*How strongly do you feel about anyone bashing you yourself for your interest based on the media's aspect of what furry is?
I've never been actively "bashed" for my interest. I'm usually pretty careful about who I tell about being furry, and more than once I've been pleasantly surprised by the response of "don't worry, I'm furry too".
*We all know furries have alot of sexual aspects in this fandom, What's your opinion on it?
What you do with your own time is your business, not mine. But I'm still going to think you're weird or outright disgusting if you go airing that stuff in public. On the other hand, I do enjoy the relative freedom the fandom gives me to enjoy my own more, uh... "exotic" kinks.
Personal
*What is/are your fursona(s)?
The PocketFox, a non-anthro fennec fox with green eyes and a taste for sitting in pockets, laps, cleavage, and other things; and Ambereyes, a gold wolf.
*Do you have any fetishes that pertain to the fandom?
Yes. Although the idea of actually having sex with an animal or a child in real life makes me ill, I do actually enjoy a lot of bestiality- and cub-themed art. Go figure.
*If you could magically morph into your fursona would you?
omg yes plz XD
*Do you believe you have a spirit animal?
Yes, the red fox.
*What other fanbases/groups are you a part of?
Anime, MMOs (specifically WoW and Aion), role-players
*Anthro/Feral, Therian or Kemonomimi (Not a furry, just a human with animal ears and a tail)?
Usually feral.
*Are you a fursuiter? If yes, how many do you own? If No, do you ever plan on being a suiter?
No.
*How many of your friends are furry?
Actually, only one that I can think of right now, but like me, she keeps it on the down low.
*How many pets do you own, if any?
Just one at the moment, my papillon Hope.
*Aside from furry what other interests do you have?
Reading, WoW, Aion, role-playing, anime, Hell's Kitchen, naps, yaoi, collecting fox things (pictures, figurines, plushies, etc)
*Are you confident enough in yourself to say that you're a fur, no matter what the media says?
To be honest? No.
Meetups
*Do you attend any cons? If no, would you attend any cons? If yes, which cons have you been to?
I went to Conifur once, when I was sixteen and very impressionable. It was overall a regrettable experience. I might go now that I'm older and more aware of what the community is like, but I don't know.
*Do you go to local meetups(bowling, public outings...etc)?
I don't know any other furries in my area, let alone enough of them for "meetups".
*Have you ever attended a furry party? If no, would you attend one?
Sure, why not. So long as things didn't get "yiffy".
Online
*Have you ever met up with a fur you talked to online?
Yes, I have.
*What furry websites do you attend?
Just FurAffinity.
*What non furry websites do you frequent?
deviantArt, yaoi-gallery, ThatGuyWithTheGlasses, MMO Champion, Netflix (for the online movies), Wikipedia...
*Has the fandom done anything for you that you're thankful for? Has it taught you anything or brought you anything you treasure greatly?
Um... to be honest, no, not really. Whatever furry friends I have, I met them outside the community, before I knew they were furry. For me, this is just another fandom, and not even as important a one to me as, say, anime or WoW.
In all honesty, the biggest thing I've learned by being part of the furry fandom is a negative one, and it's that in some cases, most of those bad stereotypes you hear about *insert group here* are actually true. Kind of sad, really.

New Icon!
General | Posted 16 years agoYup, a new icon. Not nearly as hilarious as Illidan's turkey, but meh.
The pretty blonde is Noishe Ambereyes, an elf rogue who... seems to have taken on a life of his own. He started off as a simple blood elf rogue and has grown into one of my favorite characters/muses. The picture was done on request, by my dear friend Lesatho on Y!gallery, so no touching!

So This is How a Troll Thinks?
General | Posted 17 years agoEdiskrad posted a journal entry (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/658756/) regarding the recent case of a doctor, a mother, and a 9-year-old girl who were excommunicated by the Catholic church because the daughter had an abortion after being raped and impregnated.
One user, Sangy, posted this delightful example of the state of human decency as a comment on the entry: "Am I the only one here who would've liked to see that girl go through with her pregnancy? >.> Though, I must admit that it's not for moral reasons."
Mm hm. That's right. Real life child rape and potentially lethal pregnancies are hot, yo.
The outpouring of wank is fast, furious, and completely expected. Normally I would just scan the comments to avoid raising my blood pressure, but reading Sangy's justifications for his comment made me honestly question his mental state. I posted a reply to him, mentioning I wasn't sure whether to classify him as an eloquent, stubborn troll or as an honest-to-God sociopath, with an afterthought that if I ever met him in person, I would happily punch him in the dick. It was, in total, a three sentence reply.
Several hours later, I received a PM from him, which I've copy/pasted here in full. Warning: It's rather teal deer.
The first comment was mostly a joke. It got so many comments from people with no grasp of the english language that I decided to have some fun with it. You're the first person to speak with intelligence, so I thought I'd let you in on it. Just don't tell the other people hanging around there. I don't care what they think of me, because I'm pretty sure they don't think a whole lot about anything.
In direct response to your comment...both would be true. I'm having fun egging on the idiots, and I must admit I'm a bit of a sociopath. I have my own reasons why I don't do certain things, but I don't believe in ethics or morallity. I believe in logic, and it is illogical to base my life choices on something as foolish as laws or social norms. It was illegal in my state to masturbate up until the early 2000s. It still is considered immoral by a large percentage of the population. I'm pretty sure everyone on this website masturbates without any guilt.
You're going to say that's not the same as "rape babies," and that is because it's not the same. It's just a much better example, because it's something we can agree society is wrong about. Morallity is foolish, and so are a lot of things society as a whole believes in. The problem is people aren't deciding things for themselves. By definition, that makes me a sociopath, because I don't believe in following society. However, having sex with another man and not feeling bad about it also makes me one.
It's amusing how people will tend to repond so viscerally in favor of something immoral that they believe in, but will make threats on someone's life for doing something they don't like. Example: Someone who marches in the streets trying to ban abortion because all life is precious, yet would be the shit out of someone just for being gay.
Anyway, just because I don't believe in morallity, doesn't mean I don't believe in boundaries. Reality exists outside of society's perceptions, and it is possible for a single man to be right and the entire world be wrong. A few hundred years ago, a man would be a heretic for insisting the earth revolved around the sun. It's because of people like me that society has progressed at all. It will take more of the same for us to progress further yet.
Where does one draw the line? Well, that is the real question, isn't it? A Jehova's Witness believes you are doing a greater service to let a man die than to give them a blood transfusion. I think that is absurd, but they don't. However, I would not force them to denounce their beliefs. You see, my line in the sand--so to speak--is that one can not force anything on anyone. Forcing someone to go against their beliefs is as bad as raping them, in my beliefs.
Well...that was way too long, so I'm stopping...hopefully, you are satisfied.
TL;DR: I really really reeeeeally want to tell someone what a clever and ingenious troll I am but if you tell anybody else they'll KNOW I'm a troll and it'll ruin all my fun! Also, I did it for the lulz, and I apparently think I am a Vulcan.
Why he picked me, I have no idea. But for the sake of hilarity, I'm glad.
