I've been approached by a small comics publisher based in Poland, who believes there is a market for "Rudek i Niedźwiedź" and has proposed collaborating on a campaign to print volume one's Polish translation in Poland, by funding it on the Polish crowdfunding site Wspieram.to.

Too much day job and side-hustle graphic design work piled up this last week ... my daughter caught covid and we all had to quarantine and juggle work and childcare. (daughter's fine, but it threw a spanner in the works!)

As we approach the end of chapter 2 of Rudek and the Bear, I have a few options for how to move forward, but I'm a little stuck on what would be best.

My comics are a passion project that I have been only somewhat successful in pursuing while working full time in education and raising a family. There have been a lot of stops and starts, creative blocks and self-doubt. One of my goals for 2021 (the 10th anniversary of starting this project) is to recover a sense of direction for my comics and creative output in general. To that end I've started a course of artistic recovery called The Artist's Way.

I'm resolving to maintain a weekly publication schedule, and communicate with readers when I need to take a week off here and there.

With all that in mind, I'm humbly asking for your input. After Rudek and the Bear Chapter 2 ends, would you rather see:

1. The launch of Zuzel and the Fox (pages weekly)
2. A new chapter of Rudek and the Bear (pages weekly)
3. Both concurrently (alternating biweekly publication schedule)
4. Something else (I'm open to all ideas and suggestions!)

Hi everybody!

I haven't been around much these days. Various other projects and responsibilities have shoved art and comics to the side. But June, July and August are looking good -- one of the perks of being a teacher is that I have the summers off :)

I'm truly thankful for all the watchers I've picked up in the last year or so, despite not being very active here in that time. The fact that folks are finding and enjoying my artwork means the world to me. So, from the bottom of my heart, thanks for watching.

Commission me to do a single-character bust or full-figure portrait in a historical style. Anthropomorphic characters only. Line art with basic shading or washes (one or two colors). $40 USD via PayPal.

I enjoy researching period dress and military uniforms to create as-accurate-as-possible representations of characters in different time periods. When ordering a commission, please provide as much reference material as you can.

To celebrate a few things -- the end of the school year, my ability to return to art/comics, my upcoming birthday, almost 500 watchers -- I'm going to stream for two hours +, on THURSDAY.

streaming has ended. It was great to see a few old pals and make a new one! So far I like Picarto, and I'm planning to do a sketch stream next week when I have off work. I'll keep you posted.

Thinking about trying Picarto for livestreams. Not sure which software to use for the streaming. They give two options for windows: XSplit and Open Broadcaster Studio.

Interested to hear if anyone is on picarto, which streaming software they use, if they like it, etc.

Hello furaffinity friends!

So, my wife and I had a baby in October. He was born 2 months early in distress, and spent five weeks in Intensive Care. He rebounded and is doing very well, but was very very in need of our full attention.

... to make a long story short, at 8 months old, our boy is finally getting to the point where he can amuse himself for a couple hours a day--which means I will start having time to pursue my art again. With a day job, and a sick infant, it was basically out of the question.

So, this post is mostly just to say hello, I've missed you folks, I'll be slowly returning with more art and comics, and thanks as always for finding room in your lives for my art and comics, which means so much to me.

Yikes. Every emotion ever!
Just wanted to share my life-changing news with all my friends here :)

My Mrs. and I are having our firstborn son in December. Which means I'll have to learn how to outwit Rumplestiltkin-types, and like not get involved in any blood feuds.

But to be real, I realize an infant means I'll have even less time for cartooning and art...almost none for a while. But rest assured I will continue plugging away at both the webcomic and the graphic novel.

In the mean time, I am enjoying a productive summer... I'm drawing and coloring pages of Żużel & the Fox, and I'll be putting out a new R&tB on Monday. So stay tuned!
