I am awful sick. And I haven't been at the shop since last Wednesday. :<

I'm sorry for not keeping up with my friends on here. Being busy is no excuse, so I shall have to try a little harder to check in.

Everything is okay, I've just been so busy, and a little stressed. Now I'm laid out with a nasty cold/flu. So, until that's all better, I'm sittin' pretty.

I've been offline lately, because my laptop broke. It's working right now, but I'm buying a new one. I'm trying not to use this one too much because I don't want it to break again before I can get all my stuff off of it.

It's been pretty busy here, and there's a daily stream of people coming in, asking questions, getting quotes, and getting poked. I come home drained, but I love every minute of it.

The grand opening is this weekend. We wanted to wait a month, to get passed all the inspections and follow ups and stuff. Now we're all square (we had to put trim up in my room, which was a HUGE pain in the ass). Luckily, my hubby is very, very handy! I think I'll keep him around for when I get a BIG building! LOL!!

Also...mah hair is purpil! I'm going to VERY QUICKLY post a picture in the scraps!

We went to Atlanta to drop Ms. Tisket off, and things have REALLY picked up at the shop.

This weekend is going to be a catch-up weekend, so expect some things from me!!

I am so sorely behind on everything!

Getting the shop started has been tough. I spent every day up there last week, and again all weekend. I did a tattoo and a touch up on Friday. I did a cover-up on Sunday and I redid a whole tattoo this morning, as well as a client consultation.

My house is a DISASTER area. For real....it needs a freggin' bath! :( I like my house to be clean, but I can't delegate my time to just one room. It all kinda merges together somewhere until I curl up into a ball in a heap of crap and rock back and forth into psychosis.

Also, we JUST closed on our house in Florida this last week, meaning it is completely sold and is not ours anymore. We went down there for a weekend and cleaned out the house. That was a near fiasco, but we got it all done, and now that is over.

We also sent back all the child support paperwork. It's been really fucked up, but we'll work through it. We miss the kids so much, but it's only going to be like this for a few years. Then we won't have to put up with her games or her bullshit anymore, and she can go on being the miserable person she is.

The last two weeks have been really emotional for us, and we've been trying to get through it the best we can.

Some people closer to us know that my husband has two children from a previous marriage that we both love and adore. We had them all summer, and it was the most wonderful time!! My husband has always done all he can to support the children, and even though his ex-wife is a vindictive, manipulating, gutter slut, he still tried to do the best for his children.

SHE wrote up an arrangement when we moved to Illinois for the support of the children, and my husband always payed BEYOND what they originally agreed upon. She ALWAYS asked for more, and he always paid. She wanted $500 for childcare one month, and my husband said NO. One child is 14, and a certified baby sitter, and the other is 11, and mildly autistic. She also has an illegitimate child who is severely mentally disabled who required extensive care. THAT child is the one who requires all the care services that she expects my husband to pay for. She also claims that she makes less than minimum wage, but since she owns her own business, she doesn't feel that she should work like everyone else does at a regular job. I'm wondering that if she is working so little, then why is it she needs $500 a month in childcare?

Well, it pissed her off that she couldn't get that extra money, so she served my husband a child support lawsuit ON HIS BIRTHDAY. The kids didn't get to take their big vacation this summer because my husband spent so much money having to fly to Florida to get all of the information filed and to make an appearance at a hearing.

The mediation was today. Her sleaze bag lawyer that she hired (with her less than minimum wage job-yeah right, my ass) verbally abused my husband over the phone, and threatened him to the point where the mediator made them stand in the hallway while he tried to calm my husband down and work on a CS payment. They wanted to take 80% of my husbands pay PLUS back child support (even though they had a prior signed written agreement that SHE wrote up). The mediator REALLY helped and worked the numbers as much as he could in our favor, because he knew that she was just out for money and not for the welfare of the children.

Our results were not as bad as they could have been, and it worked to our advantage. She will not get enough in child support to make up what she's going to have to pay her nasty lawyer AND we got a no contact order in place, which is delightful! If she calls my parent's house, or my phone, or his cell phone, we have legal grounds to sue her for interference and harassment. So now, she has nothing left to due but stew in her own shit life, and worry about who her husband is fucking while he's supposed to be working instead of bothering us. As much as I hate her for causing us so many problems, I really feel sorry for her, because karma is a bitch. She will die miserable and lonely. Her own family hates her, and they actually talk to my husband on a weekly basis.

Money is wonderful to have, but it doesn't buy you love, forgiveness, or happiness.

I've been so hectic busy it's not even funny.

I fixed my tattoo machine that broke. I'm rebuilding the other tomorrow, putting in a sink at the shop, putting up shelves, decorating, and moving my shit. Oh, and I have to reupholster my chair yet and get it up to the shop somehow. It's a 400 lb. chair.

And I have to get commissions finished and out. Not just furry commissions, but tattoo customers as well.

My inspection is on Tuesday. I think my head is gonna explode. :P

FIRST THING: I saw a badger today. He was a little dead, but I was still like OMFG! BADGER! ZOMBIE BADGER! :) So now I need to make a zombie badger suit, because it would be fun and awesome. :3

I picked up my Marley today!! He was so excited, he was trying to run in his travel crated. The boarder and I laughed! Only $21 to board him over the weekend! He will be going back! He's been so content and calm all day, so I knew he had a good weekend. :) I seriously need to get some boston terrier stuff for my room. I love my Marley.

I also made several phone calls. Health dept. called me, and she had some concerns about the hand washing station. Gotta go up there tomorrow and discuss some stuff with her. We've got some work to do, apparently, but it's not a big deal! We set an appointment, and we're going to be inspected on the 24th. We plan to officially open on September 1st! I am sooooooo excited!! :) I'll not only be the first registered tattoo shop in the city....I'll be the first in the county! Which also makes me the best! HAHA!!!

 RebelKat and I also went and looked at a house today. Yes, we're in the market for a new home. HUGE ASS HOUSE. Like 2400 square feet. Room after room after room. Plenty of space for the kids, some space for me, and most importantly, room for all of RK's crap! LOL!!! He was like "this could be my music room..." "No, THIS COULD BE IT!" "OH! LOOK AT THE STORAGE!!" Many lulz were had. So anyway, there is stuff wrong with it, most especially the roof. We've got water damage, and there is a LOT of work that needs to be done. We're gonna low-ball them and see what happens.

Ah well! Life is going good!! I hope it stays that way!!

I think I have a new favorite zoo!

It's very well put together, and they have a nice variety of creatures there too!! I REALLY got a kick out of the shark touch tank (yeah, you KNOW I was all up in that) and the dolphin show. It's a REALLY nice zoo. A little expensive, but it was worth it, srsly.

Okay, so we didn't get there until Saturday, which was cool. I got a little carsick, but I didn't berf or nothing, so it's all good.
 rebelkat and I stayed at the Drury across the street. Jacuzzi suite, baby!! It kinda sucked to walk across the highwayn to the Hilton (no crosswalk) but whatevers. I hope some people got a good laugh at my fat ass launching myself into traffic. Heehee! It's still better than the Hilton. Our three day stay cost us a mere $210.00, with free internet, free breakfast, free snacks all day, and a jacuzzi. Drury, I <3 you!!

The con was cool. They lacked a bit in some areas, but I'm easily amused, so I pretty much kept occupied. I attended the Girl's Meet with my bestie,  nubis-light and we decorated pretty, pretty notebooks and I painted his nails. Then we spread our unique brand of ghey everywhere. My otter brother from another mother,  Lascivus_lutra was in the den, and we loitered his table a lot. Well, we kinda loitered everywhere.

I saw  bucktowntiger perform for the first time! He must have been DYING in that suit, but it was so cool to watch it. I wish I had my camera to get some decent pictures. My daughter would have loved it!! You did awesome, Bucktown! I'm so glad I got to (finally) catch your show. :3

It was cool to see everyone again, especially  Deyna_Otter,  franticfox, Twiz & Otto and  quasiskunk!

Today, we're going to the Indianapolis Zoo, and then it's back to southern Illinois! I miss my Marley! I bet he's having a blast at the doggie spa! :3

Forbidden Lines Tattoo will be open for it's first business day on August 2, 2010!! I am so excited, and nervous!!

The next week I'll be finishing my paperwork, buying some furniture and gathering my supplies for my opening day!

Like everyone else, she's hit a bit of a rough patch with money, and she needs a bit of help to take care of necessary things to get through the week.

RK and I need a vacation, and Indy is only a couple hours away, so we think it'll be nice to get out for the weekend. We're thinking about getting a table as well, so I have something to do.

I just received my certification as a micro pigmentation professional.

This means I can do cosmetic tattooing (eyelids, brows, lips, areola) as well as my regular tattooing. I have to use different machines, of course, but the cosmetic is in really high demand here, which is awesome.

We're still working on opening up. This summer has been hella hectic busy for everyone. My goal is to move into my room and at least have submitted my paperwork by the end of the month. Business meetings to go yet.

When I open this shit up, I'm going to celebrate BIG TIME. Chuck E. Cheese style! LOL!!

My best friends cousin (also my brother in laws cousin) killed himself last night.

He was only 18....

It was in the online edition of the newspaper, and people managed to fill up 6 pages in comments.

Some were condolences, but most of them were political, and people bitching that the city needed more security at the college, and some people even saying that it was a TERRORIST ATTACK.

The kid ingested chemicals, and locked himself in his car, and left a note on the window not to open the door because of the harmful chemicals. He didn't want the chemicals to hurt anyone else.

After the 6 pages, his Mom wrote in. It was heart wrenching to read, and all the comments stopped....

If anything, if you don't pray, or believe in anything, please tell the people around you that you love them. Let them know. You may never know the last time you will get to hug a friend, or say something that needs to be said, like "I love you" or "I care."

I'm sending my love out to my friends, and especially my extended family.

He's going to be buried on Mother's Day..

It's just not happening this year.

I wish we could go, but with the kids getting out of school the same week, our resources and finances are tired up for the summer.

It was convention, or kids. And I can't miss out on seeing my babies. I miss them! We'll have a great time this summer, and  rebelkat and I will be back to furry stuffs come August!

I opened up my last batch of commissions for awhile. It's going to be a hella busy summer. Thank you to everyone who's supported me with either comments, watches, faves or commissions. More thanks to the friends who've been with me in this crazy fandom for so many years. I love you guys whole bunches. I'm so glad I've got to meet so many of you in person!

The City Council is very cool with the whole tattooing thing. Some other townspeople don't like the idea, but I plan to write something up in the "town crier" to give them a better perspective. Most of us nowadays know that tattoos aren't for scuzzy people, criminals and trailer trash. It was very hard for me to even get my family to support me during my apprenticeship because of that stereotype. Now, they're falling all over themselves to help me get this started. It's amazing, really. I don't think they've ever paid so much attention to what I'm doing. I feel like they are proud of me, and that feels really good.

I got my chairs, and we've got one working! I Never though I'd have a motorized chair. I'm totally psyched, and it makes things a LOT easier, and much more comfortable for my customers. AND the best part is,  rebelkat did the re-wiring so I didn't get electrocuted! YIPPEEE!

Next week, I think I'm going to put the filigree around my paw prints like I had planned. Not that I've been avoiding it, but it's hard to find the time and the want in the same moment. But I've been craving another tattoo.

This week, I'm working and having a meeting. I've got a bad ass dragon koi design I've gotta finish. Another cover-up job. I think it'll be bad ass. I'll post it when I get his approval.

After my next run of badges for AC, I will not be taking any commissions for some time. It might be all summer, and beyond. I don't know yet.

I will be opening my tattoo studio soon, and I have to focus on that, since most of what I do is custom work. This is a huge opportunity for me, and I want to make the most of it.

That, and I don't want to have a huge queue filled up that will take me impossibly long to finish.

My packet for my State of Illinois tattoo establishment registration came in today. This is truly a pivital event in my life. All of this is just laying itself out before my eyes. Don't pinch me, because I'm afraid I might wake up from this dream.
