So Why All The Old Stuff?!
Posted 10 years agoSome of you may be wondering why I'd bother to upload and show my early art. I mean, yea, it isn't the best but there is method to my madness.
My main point of displaying my early artwork is to give a sense of perspective to the viewer and more importantly, the artist which he or she may be, about where I started and where I ended up before my "career" as an artist came to a more or less close.
It shows an evolution of my style over the years and the increase in skill over those same years. So, for the artist starting out, my gallery here provides the visual evidence that with practice and effort, the art being done can, and will, improve.

WANTED: Fox One, Viktoria's Secret, Furlined Fanzines
Posted 10 years agoFor those who may recall, starting in the 1990s, I produced three fanzines. Fox One spanned three issues and focused on a military theme. Viktoria's Secret, as the name suggests, was lingerie pin-ups and spanned numerous issues. Furlined was the more fetish/full adult 'zine.
The problem is, I cannot find any of my table copies, let alone the original hard copy master files, or even an issue. I would really like to gather them for my own personal archives and also to digitally archive them.
So, if any out there has a copy or copies of these fanzines that they can part with, let me know!

Still Out Here
Posted 11 years agoHas been awhile but awhile hasn't been too good. Two weeks ago my mother passed away. She was a two time survivor of cancer but she could not win the battle a third time. I miss her and frankly, I am not dealing with the loss all that well. I tend to compartmentalize the bad and move on, hoping it won't resurface. Not the best way to handle things, I know. So, I'm working at it.
I realize that she is in a much better place, free from pain. When my father said her time was close, me and my family went to see her, bringing her great grandson which she had yet to see. She got to see me, my wife, two of her grand stepchildren, and the great grandson. The hospice nurse had said she had another 2-3 weeks to live so we returned home with the intention to come back then. But within 2 days, she passed away.
I think she was just waiting to see us all one more time and see her great grandson. Once that happened, she felt herself free to move on into the after life.
Me and my wife flew down for the funeral and I spent a week with my dad. As he is want to do, he made me take home some of my stuff which was still shoved up in the attic. One of the things I found was a folder of xeroxes of my artwork. I no longer have the bulk of my original art anymore and xeroxes are all that remained. Many of these I hadn't had so, I'll be posting them in the coming weeks off and on.

Back from the Dead
Posted 12 years agoSo, last Thursday, I'm taking my stepdaughter to see her pediatrician. My wife joins me there and sees the back of my right leg had a red hue to it. I had been in a lot of pain just behind and below my knee and had an appointment Friday to see my doctor about it. So, my wife suggests I just go into the urgent care which was across the parking lot from the pediatrician and let them look at it while she stays with my stepdaughter at her appointment.
The doc in the urgent care initially considered it was a sprain because how I described it made it sound like a cramp (which is kind of what it feels like). But, he changed his mind and said I needed an ultrasound just to be sure. So, went over to Mt. Carmel hospital and had the test done and sure enough, from my ankle to my groin was nothing but clotting in the major arteries. That meant being admitted to the hospital and later that night, a CT scan was done of my upper chest. This found the clotting in my lower lungs (pulmonary embolisms). The doctor wanted to do one more CT scan, this time of my abdomen, to make sure there was no clotting there. If there was, then it would have meant surgical, and risky, procedures to remove the clots.
Thankfully, that CT scan came up negative and so I was able to go home Friday night and am now on a treatment of blood thinners. Still to be determined is if my clotting was due to any sort of genetic disorder and thus prone to them. If so, then I'll be on blood thinners for the rest of my life. If not, it will be a six month treatment period.

Posted 12 years agoShameless promotion for a anthropomorphic novella series in the works. This is the debut issue. Currently only offered for the Nook or through this site for a nice, slick 188 page trade paperback.
