Hey there, I'll be working on coloring/digi painting a race of lizard type people for my friend Matt tonight, starting in about 30 minutes.

So I think I want to get a tattoo. I have wanted a simple pencil on the underside of my right wrist for a few years now, but I haven't gotten it because of the location. It would be very visible and if I wanted to get a job at a place that doesn't like tattoos, I would be screwed. I want it to be somewhere where I can see it easily, but also that it can be hidden.

Then recently I thought it would be cool to get a little heart with a pencil through it and a scroll that says "ART" on it, since I love art (the same reasoning is behind the simple pencil). I think the play on the old school "Mom" heart would be funny. Again, the problem comes up of location. If I get it where I would want that one which is right over my heart, then if I were to wear slightly open shirts it would show.

I dunno. If anyone out there who watches me has some advice on tattoo locations and where you can still see them easily, but they aren't necessarily open to the public I'd really appreciate the help. If I did go with the heart-scroll-pencil option then I could get it on my upper arm, which would follow the setup of the old school tattoos like that, but I just think it's a bit of a masculine location.

It is The Animator's Survival Kit (Expanded Edition) by Richard Williams (director of the awesome movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit?)

I just bought it last week and am finally getting the chance to read it. Holy cow!! It is very detailed and does a FANTASTIC job of explaining how things are or could be done.
I bought my copy at Borders for only $30, which includes a DVD in the back of the book. I haven't checked out the DVD yet, so I don't know what's on it, but it can't be bad if the book is this good!

Seriously though folks, it's a great resource. I am definitely happy with my purchase. I started reading and before I knew it I was 150 pages in, already with a new, far more comprehensive understanding of how to go about animating. I took a course on animation a few years ago (while I was still in high school) at an art school, and this book blows that course out of the water. This costs far less money and gave me a much greater understanding in much less time.

Hey there! Just spreading the word about this awesome webcomic that you should know about. It's by Doug TenNapel, the guy who gave us EARTHWORM JIM!!! Yeah, remember those games and all their glory? I sure do.

Anyway, the comic is called Ratfist and updates on a DAILY basis. Yes, daily. Monday - Friday (everyone needs their weekend).

It's only 53 pages in right now, but it's already shown that it has a great plot and lots of laughs!

And I'm going to tell you now that page 36 does make fun of furries. If you can't laugh at yourself though, then you should probably learn to. It's all meant in good fun. Be an adult and realize that.

So thanks to a friend of mine I have discovered the awesomeness of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I've been drawing some original characters in the style of the show (mainly based on me and my friends).
I'll post them when I'm done but if people like them then I may open up for $3-$5 commissions for them, since they are cute and don't take very long.

BUT SERIOUSLY?!?! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I HATE BEING SINGLE.
Not because I want to be with someone, but because I can't stand all the random dudes hitting on me.
For some reason (and I know it's going to sound really snobby/conceited to say, but) I can't seem to just be left alone. It's like, I tell one guy that no, I don't like you and I don't want to go on a date, and another pops up. I've had a steady stream of 1-4 guys trying to come at me for the last 4 months. I AM SICK OF IT.

I personally don't think I'm all that great looking or whatever, but for some reason I can't get guys to just leave me alone. I wish they would just back off unless I give them a signal. There's one guy who I am kind of interested in, and he flirts on occassion which is fine, but seriously, then a bunch of other guys who pop up out of nowhere, and I DON'T KNOW WHY (guys who I NEVER talk to, NEVER see, and BARELY know. I'm talking about like, a friend of a friend (of a friend), I talked to them once at a con, or not even that. I maybe was tagged in a photo of theirs from a con).


AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH.
It also doesn't help that they are awkward or generally unattractive (I'm not talking about like, my preference. I'm talking about general sense of attractive).

Whatever. This is just a rant post. I just can't post it on Facebook (for obvious reasons).

So I just got back. I talked to the people at the information booth (this older guy was there who was real cool, who seemed to be running it) and then I asked the photo people. Their response was both "We don't mind, but security might because they can't see your face and terrorist/shoplifting issues and whatnot. So we can't tell you yes but we can't tell you no. But if you can get here without being stopped we will totally allow it."

So I got changed, and just carried around my head most of the time, putting it on for photos with people and when I got pictures with Snivy. SO MUCH WIN.

So yeah, I didn't get approached by any Security Guards or anything, and I had a blast! I'll put some pictures up later, but seriously, it was so much fun. My friend cosplayed Dawn and we got a whole bunch of pictures and even got to ride the carousel for free because the staff thought it would be fun for the kids to see a Pokemon and trainer riding the carousel.

The three best responses from people seeing me run around as a big, fuzzy blue thing:
3) *I take my head off* Lady standing next to me: o.o "It's a kid!!"
2) *walking back to car right before leaving* Random chick: "WTF?!?!?!!? WHAT WAS THAT?!?!"
1) *walking to food court* Group of ghetto kids: "AWWWW DAMN. IT'S A POKEMON!!" ("poke-ee-man")

Seriously. The staff of the event were really nice too. They were eating up the costume. The older staff guy even took pictures of me and Dawn in front of the backdrop where the starters were supposed to be (in between starters for photos) to put in some report. I asked if it was ever going to be open to the public, but he said the report is for his Management company, which pulls together all the information from each day and photos and stuff and sends a report to the Pokemon Company, which can take the information and use it as they wish. Wouldn't that be awesome if they saw us in the photos? *dreams may come true*

Anyway, we stood around for like an hour or so, waiting for the starters to come back out. I really wanted a picture with Snivy, since he's my favorite, so we waited and waited and waited. They were getting their like, half hour break between 2:30 - 3, then Snivy wasn't out again til 3:30. But the staff were cool, when it was our turn they let us just chill to the side until he came out, then we were the first ones up.

Also, later in the evening right before leaving we were back at the information booth talking to that older guy and one of them came up and was all, "Hey... are you one of ours? No... you're not one of ours.... are you?" And I chuckled (cuz it was really embarrassingly complementary) and responded, "Haha, no, I made this myself. I wish I worked with you guys. Here, give us a free spin at the wheel thing and I'll be here for another hour. Just kidding. =P " Then she complimented me again, saying my costume was really well made and cute and like walked off. The older guy got a laugh out of it.


Oh, and there was this little girl who we kept bumping into who was ADORABLE. She couldn't have been more than 3, and she kept coming up to my leg and petting me and hugging the fur. So precious!!

And then there was this guy who came up to us while we were waiting for photos with Snivy who gave us 4 free tickets (even though they were free to begin with) to the 4 pm showing of the Zoroark movie. He said he was just about to return them when he saw us and loved our costumes, so we could have them. I had 2 friends with me, so we took 3 tickets and I gave the last one to an N cosplayer, as a reward for having an awesome cosplay, passing on the love. =)



It was seriously SUCH an amazing day. I got all the plushies and the t-shirt I wanted. Photos of me making silly excited faces with them to come too.

So my friends and I are going to this Pokemon Black and White Mall Tour tomorrow in Paramus, NJ. We are driving 4 hours (each way), about 200 miles (each way) and it's going to be AMAZING!!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!

I am getting so much merchandise. Unfortunately in my excitement I forgot to bring my DS from my dorm room (I'm at my house now) so I won't be able to download the exclusive Pokemon, but I don't care. I've never been one for the special downloads.

ANYWAY, I am bringing my Glaceon suit and am going to run around as that (assuming it's not too much trouble with the people and limited vision and whatnot). I WANT A PICTURE WITH SNIVY AND ME AS GLACEON SOOOOO BADLY.
And if I can get one with Tepig that would be cool too. The whole fire vs ice thing. OR MAYBE BOTH. OMG *dies*

We'll see how it goes! I am also getting a whole bunch of merchandise (plushies mostly). I want to see if I can fit into one of the children's size shirts, like a L or XL. I think one of my shirts that I own now (and wear regularly) is a L or XL, so I think I can pull it off. =P If so it's going to be the black Snivy shirt. I would get the Zekrom one, but I hate white t-shrits.


But for plushies I'm going to get a 12" Zekrom, a 6" Snivy and a 6" Tepig. I hate Tepig's final form, but he alone is just too cute. Also going to get a 2" Zekrom figure. I would get the 6" one but I have 2" figures of Lugia and Arceus, and I don't want Zekrom to outshine them with his size. Lugia is my favorite legendary after all. =P

I am going to spend so much money. XD I know I shouldn't, but C'MON. SHIT LIKE THIS NEVER HAPPENS. And if I were to get all that stuff (which I am at some point anyway) it's just going to be mad expensive. PLUS now I can say I got it at the mall tour, and have an awesome story attached to everything so it makes it even more special. =)

So I saw "Megamind" with a friend recently because she bought the DVD. OMG I AM IN LOVE.

When Roxanne "dumped" him I almost cried because he looked so sad. Seriously, he's so awkward and dorky and adorable.

But I also lost my debit card.


So now I need to scrounge for cash around my room so I can ship out the item tomorrow so it's still on time. Normally I would just pay with my debit card or use an ATM, but I CAN'T now, and the closest actual bank is a 15 minute drive away, and I don't have a car....

I used to be able to with no problems when I was younger. Maybe middle school/early high school.

I haven't been able to whenever I really needed to.

But I have things to make for U-Con, and so I must. I don't normally drink energy drinks either, since I'm usually fine about waking up, but to keep me going I've been sipping some purple Amp. I like green Monster more though... Oh well.

Anyway I just felt like taking a minute or two break, and so I thought that I'd share how exhausted I feel right now.



As soon as I get on the bus I'm going to just crash. It's a 2 hour bus ride though so I can get an okay nap in.

They there, for my Drawing 4 class we have to pick a theme and produce at least 8 pictures by the end of the semester. I chose to draw hairless cats, cuz they are awesome.

I have reference pictures from catteries online, but if you or any of your friends or anyone you know wants free portraits of their hairless cats, send them my way.

I need high resolution, quality photos. I don't care what pose your cat is in, the more interesting the better. I can't guarantee that I will draw it, but the more pictures you send me to chose from, the more likely I will pick one or more.

So yeah, spread the word. =)

Okay, so I have this friend who is one of my best friends and we've been like that for YEARS. I'm talking about since 3rd grade, about 10+ years kind of friend.
We have a lot in common, anime included, but there's just a little problem that always sets me off with her.

She does everything I do.

Like, everything. If I do something that seems to be getting just a bit of attention, she copies me in some way or another.
I cut my hair a new way, she cuts her hair in a similar cut.
I decide I'm going to make something, she makes nearly the same thing.
I started making Pokemon suits, she starts.
I enter a costume contest, she does too.
I decide I'm going to community college before real college, she all of a sudden does the same.
I decide I'd rather not go into something artsy, and rather go into business (because I was always good at math and liked accounting), she all of a sudden abandons her dream of being a film maker and decides to study psychology (randomly).

It's pissed me off for years, but she is one of my friends and with the exception of this one behavior, I love her to bits.

So I just wanted to know how I should go about telling her that the whole copying me behavior is pissing me off and that I've seen her do it for almost as long as I've known her.

What recently brought it up is the fact that I started making plushies and things to try to raise some money for Anime Boston. I've gone back and forth for about a year and a half about if I should get a table at a convention to sell things, and recently I found out about U-Con. It's entirely free so I figured, why not? It doesn't cost anything, so there's no risk really. And anything I don't sell there I can online.

Anyway, I've been posting on Facebook about it for the past.... 2 weeks I'd say.
All of a sudden she's gotten back into plushie making (she did it once prior after I initially got into it to make some gifts for friends). And what's this? It's for upcoming conventions? Just like me? Really?
What sparked this idea?

I seriously want to strangle her right now, and I know that I shouldn't think such terrible things of her, but this is really NOT the first time this "coincidence" has happened.

So yeah, again, how would be a good way of bringing it up to her?

GOD sometimes I REALLY hate being female.

I go from an ok mood to bursting to tears and feeling like shit for no reason other than I listened to a song that was sad and it made me think of myself.

Seriously, composure would be great right about now.

Thanks hormones for demolishing my motivation. Now I have to kick my ass to get some sewing done so I can actually have everything I need for U-Con in less than 2 weeks, all while praying that I don't randomly start crying again in the middle of sewing. Cause that wouldn't be awkward with my brother and his girlfriend lingering in the next room over.

So if you saw the edit from my last journal you would know that my ex boyfriend, the one I dated for 2+ years, recently contacted me.
If not, you know now.

I am choosing to ignore him entirely because he is a cheating dirt bag. I defriended him on Facebook a while ago, about mid December, because seeing his updates was literally driving me to insanity. My emotions were all over the place, and I so I fixed it. I told him I still wanted to keep in contact or something at the time though, which WAS true. I haven't talked to/seen him since mid November, but I found out on Christmas by a mutual friend, and one he's been friends with for many years, that he cheated on me, more than once, during our relationship. One where he said he never would because he's been cheated on too many times.

Apparently not enough.
He was drunk on both occasions, but that's no excuse, because drunken actions/words are just sober thoughts.

In any case, this is the message I received from him a few days ago:
so, i haven't heard from you in a while, and well... i kinda miss you.
call/text/message me if you could, even if it's just a "hello".
hope you are well, and that life is a little more fun nowadays.


He doesn't know I know, but I think he should be thinking to himself why I really would be avoiding him, since I AM on facebook a LOT (updating frequently) while I'm on vacation.
If he doesn't figure it out, considering I've told him that when people cheat on their significant others (and were in a monogamous relationship), no matter what their connection to me, I stop talking to them entirely.
Cheaters are douche bags. I don't talk to douche bags.


Then he contacted me last night again apparently. This is what he said:
if you are still interested in being friendly, at all, please respond via any method you see fit, message me, call, text, carrier pigeon, anything.
i'd hate to think i lost you completely, especially after 2 years together. hope to talk to you soon.



Well too bad, dirt bag, you've lost me. You should have thought about that before you cheated on me, because even if we were still dating, I would have found out eventually. Real friends let each other know that stuff, especially when it's such an important aspect to one of them.

I feel very good now-a-days. Comedic anger is so much easier to handle.

Guys suck. They really, really suck.

You get into a situation that seems really cool, and that you two could just relax and enjoy, and the instant you show that you don't want to fuck them, no matter the reason, not like you might actually have personal/self standards or trust issues or anything, they change their mind about you.


But I guess I should expect that by now.




And sorry for always ranting on here. I would just do it on my facebook but I'd rather certain people not see it, and I know for sure they aren't on here.


EDIT: So apparently the reason he has been flip flopping on whether or not he likes me (or so it seemed) is that he does like me, but he wants to date a girl who drinks and smokes, and he thinks it wouldn't work.
Honestly, I dated a guy for over two years who did EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING under the sun, with the exception of Salvia, only because he was immune to it. He tried to do it, but he is one of the approximately 11% of the population who is genetically immune to it's effects.
And I know this guy doesn't do any of that shit, and only smokes when like in a group gathering at parties.

But whatever. We are still going to be friends, which I already knew because we've been friends for years, but I still think it's a bullshit reason.

Thankfully if I need to emotionally cut someone off, I can. And this won't be the first time I've done it with him.



On a side note I think it's hilarious that my ex (the druggy from 2+ years) has contacted me recently because "I kinda miss you." He also said he wishes I would call or text "if only to say hello," and that he hopes my life is better and more fun nowadays. I found out on Christmas by a mutual friend, and one of his closer friends, that he cheated on me a couple times, and so I really couldn't give a shit about what he wants or thinks. Yes my life is better, but only because I was finally able to not have to give a FUCK about him anymore. =)
So I guess there's always something to look up to.

Hey, I kinda wanted to make a wintery/holiday Pokemon wallpaper since I haven't found any that I like.

Anyway, I've always been a fan of the Ash/Misty pairing cuz, well, you know, OLD SCHOOL IS LEGIT.


Anywhoooo, I am caught in between two themes:

1. happy cuddle fun time

2. sad i miss you holiday


So basically it would breakdown like so:

1. Ash and Misty enjoying an open fire and cuddling and yay happy pokemon at home warmth, avoiding shitty snowy weather

2. Misty is at home sad cuz Ash is still out adventuring even though it's the holidays and he should be back. Ash would be shadowed over or something (aka you would see both of their perspectives about whats going on).



So yeah, which would you rather see? Going to be done by New Year's hopefully
