My message to all Americans
General | Posted a year agoThe election is over. The shock has passed, and believe me I was going through it. The legitimacy of the election will not be questioned, because the guy who won has his puppet strings running through the entire federal government. All we can do now is wait, and hope that the people who voted him in will learn that they have not elected a president, that they have elected a king.
In the meantime, we have roughly two months until Trump mounts the throne, where he will have immunity, and, thanks to him puppeting all 3 chambers, ultimate power. We don't know what the future holds, but we know that, right now at least, our rights are protected under Biden. Or at least, they probably are. He's not that strong of a defense. Regardless, if I had three things to say to every American who sees my page, it's these: Buy a gun, buy books, and solidify your money. Four things; build your community.
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." These are not just words on parchment, these words guarantee the right of the people to have guns, and to organize militias. The question of gun control, whether you're for or against it, is out the window. The people threatening our rights are volatile, they are prejudiced, and most importantly, they are armed. Even if they're a minority, we've seen it in the past with Al-Qaeda, the KKK, and even individuals like Cesar Sayoc, that it does not take a majority to rain terror on the people. Therefore, it is all of our duties, now more than ever, to step up and defend ourselves. They cannot prey on the weak if there are no weak. Buy a gun, buy ammo, and so you don't end up inadvertently breaking the law, put the time and money in to apply for wear and carry.
Linked in this sentence that you're reading right now is the playbook for Project 2025. The first sentence of chapter 11 on page 319 says that the US Department of Education should be ultimately eliminated. I don't need to explain the ramifications of this, but I will anyway for those in the back. This will lead to mass defunding of all public schools, where we send our children to learn the facts of life and their role in the world, which has been previously paid for by our taxes. Just as it is your duty to protect yourself, it is now your duty to protect your children by educating them about the threats the face in the world and what they can do. Hence, I say to buy books. Whether or not you are a parent, buy books. Books on history, books on math, books on literacy, science, cooking, repair guides, gun safety, civics, whatever you can afford. If you aren't a parent and have time in your day, and aren't a pedophile or something, offer to teach your neighbor's children, this is the only way we can secure the future of our people.
That leads into my next point, galvanize with your community. Get to know your neighbors, make friends, make allies. My first two points will make no difference if we all do not act as a community. This is critical to personal survival and the passing on of knowledge. Humans are social creatures, the reason we are where we are today, societally, technologically, etc. is because we stuck together. Like the Black Panthers and the Seminole people, our cohesiveness is our true strength, and enough people can survive even the toughest of conditions.
Lastly, solidify your assets. This may seem like a tangent, but trust me it connects back. Last Christmas, me and my family watched Meet Me in St. Louis. It's a movie about a family getting ready to leave their home town to move somewhere where the dad was promised a pay raise. But the plot isn't important, what's important is the realization I made. Looking at the house, I saw paintings, I saw a piano, I saw fancy furniture, I saw the house itself and its condition, and I realized: all of that stuff is where their money is. Their house was their savings account. Now I'm not saying buy art and a piano and fancy furniture. If anything, be ready to sell it if you have it. Learn to repair and maintain it, and learn to create it. The value of the United States dollar is about to plummet, that is one thing I am confident of, and we must be ready to roll with that. Everybody, take up a craft. Me, my craft is mechanical repair, and minor carpentry from time to time. Offer your services to your community as well.
We must be ready for whatever comes next. They may try to kill us, they may try to tear down our future, they are already threatening to tear apart our families, but they cannot do so if we stand together. What's the phrase? United we stand, divided we fall. Do not fall, do not surrender to them, do not go gentle into that good night. This nation was founded on the people's rights, our freedom, and we shall not roll over and accept the new status quo of restriction and oppression. Protect your rights, protect your people, protect your future. Know that if you don't act, your enemy will act for you. "If not us, then who?" is a quote that comes to mind, spoken by a character in a game, but a powerful string of words nonetheless, one that I live by.
It is also important to note that, with our nation fraught with instability, we are going to be receiving propaganda attacks from all around. Trump, Russia, Iran, China, North Korea, they are all ready to confuse the people, bribe the leaders, all-in-all further weaken us. To that end, I say do not accept defeat. What we have to fight for goes above money and politics. We have our lives, we have our future, and we have our freedom to fight for. Never forget that, and never allow yourself to be fooled into thinking that we are not worth defending to our last breath.

I'm having a sale on brooms!
General | Posted a year agoOh, no wait. My programming is telling me I don't sell brooms. Maybe you should buy something else.
That's what we in the industry call a reference.
I am having a sale though. Lineless commissions 25% off. What does that mean? Well, it's still pretty hazy. Lemme lay some groundwork.
Ok, so I make $20 an hour at my normal day job, which is actually quite a lot now that I think about it. Knock 5 off that for shits and giggles, that leaves me $15 bucks an hour on art. Now let's multiply that by how long it took me to make this pic right here that is currently being hyperlinked, right here in this text. That took me four hours. One character, decent amount of detail I think, no background, $60.
Apply the discount, and bam, now it's $45. Now of course this isn't gonna be the price for everything. A second well-detailed character would double the price. A well-detailed background could also double the price, or even triple it. Before the discount is applied of course.
Now this only applies to lineless. Sketches and cartoons don't count, those are still normal price. What are those prices? Well I'm glad you asked. Click on this sentence right here, the one you are currently reading, to be directed to my commissions tab!

Aight, back to it.
General | Posted a year agoStill no job, but I'm not so distraught that I can't work on art anymore. So, expect a normal amount of art, which is none
Short break
General | Posted a year agoI just lost my job. Very stressful, finding a new one will take up most of my time for a short while. Don't expect art.

All is finally well
General | Posted 2 years agoDamn straight you read that right! Art works, games work, I am rockin' and rollin' babey!
Yeah, wouldn't you guess that an FX-8380 takes much less power than a Ryzen 5 7600. While gaming, the new CPU would ask more power than the PSU could supply, causing the PSU to safety-trip. The helpful people of Reddit were so kind as to let me figure all this out for myself, I couldn't have done it without them. Every agonizing step, like I'm America crawling my way toward Japan during World War 2.
What does that mean for art?
It means I can do art, commissions, requests, trades, all that, but I can also procrastinate on them again!

Commissions back on, computer still broken.
General | Posted 2 years agoI made a post last night, basically confirming that GIMP does work, and that I can start back on art. That means commissions, requests, trades, YCHs, and personal art are back on.
Gaming, however, is still not. I have a reddit post that I keep updated with everything I'm doing and each action's results. This is the link to that reddit post. Right here. This text that you're reading, this contains the hyperlink to the reddit post.
If anyone knows anyone that's good with computers, I implore you to show them that post. It's been a whole week since I got this computer and put it together. Every little step; from getting it to turn on, to booting into Windows, to connecting to the internet; has been a multi-day battle, and I still can't even play my actual battle games.

Commissions closed
General | Posted 2 years agoYou read that right! Commissions, trades, requests, YCHs, even personal art, are all down for the count!
Reason being that I don't have a computer anymore. It's been this way since like, February 14th. I got a whole bunch of new computer stuff, tore down my old build and packed it up, and now I can't even get into the BIOS half the time.
If you or someone you know is good with computers, hit me up on my Discord or Telegram, and make sure to read this Reddit post I made describing the full situation.
I can't even slack on commissions at this point, I've even had to resort to playing vanilla FO4 on Xbox. I am a shell of the gamer I once was.

Commissions Revival
General | Posted 2 years agoMan I wanna draw, but I don't have the creativity to come up with good ideas anymore.
I could try that old confusing commissions machine in the corner, even make a few bucks off it, but that thing's been rotting for years.
Wait. So has Miles.
Help keep me drawing! Favs, comments, and shares are appreciated!

Real talk for a second.
General | Posted 5 years agoSo, I've gone and gotten myself in some very hot water.
I was in a Discord server, where the atmosphere is pretty much the definition of shitpost. I went in there and said some very offensive things, to say the least. Just two days before, something very big happened in the US, the murder of George Floyd. Riots were already out in the street, laying waste to everything in their path. I do recognize the difference between the protesters and the rioters, and know that the police are very much to blame for the escalation toward violence.
I live just a 15 minute drive from one of the most dangerous cities in the United States, and I was very afraid at the time. All this fear leads to a lot of stress, and I was cracking quickly. So I went to the shitpost server and said what I said. I assumed it would just end there. Some people would get mad, some people would cringe at me, and it would just go down as another "oh, it's an edgy joke" instance. That didn't happen. Someone from another server, who's very sympathetic to the BLM movement among other similar ones, found it. They're usually nowhere near the shitpost server, and I assume only went there because someone tipped them off.
I would like to clarify that what I said, I don't stand by. It's like when your kid goes and shoots up a school. Yes I made it, but I don't support it and I don't want it in my life anymore. I said some very racist and provocative things, and antagonized someone else on the same shitpost server, things that I regret deeply, and probably will never live down. I can donate however much to MFF, I can continue to think nothing of skin color, I can say time and time again that I don't support those kinds of messages, but the screenshots will always be there, proving that I said those things. They'll always be there to bite me in the ass.
I am already working toward changing my ways, especially trying to dump the dumbass defense mechanism that started this whole thing. See, I have this thing, where under stress I'll just say the dumbest shit. People who know me on Discord would recall the age of consent in Oman and Yemen, ACAB, and the United States as a country. This defense mechanism has done plenty of damage in the past, and should've been dealt with months or years ago. I'm dealing with it now, trying to get it off my shoulders so it can't come around and stab me in the back again. I've already donated to MFF, and left the shitpost server so I can't be influenced by it anymore. Finally, I've changed my stance on certain words and images, I've switched sides as they say.
I wanted to make a public post, so that I could give my side and have a publicly standing defense. You can think what you want of me, and say all the nasty things you care to say. I'll accept the consequences of my actions.
