There's a lot going on, a long term relationship ended, I'm living with my parents, I'm still paying rent/bills and I have a really long commute to work-work now. SO. Things have happened, don't necessarily want to chat about it, JUST I'm in a tight spot and hi FA. I miss your furry butts
So here's the low-down. FIRST OF ALL You don't pay until you get the sketch, unless you're getting a sketch. Once the sketch is done and looks snazzy you send payment to cuddlycuttlefish@gmail.com. I produce a picture in a timely fashion then move the money out of my paypal, OR you get a refund. Typically I'd suggest 30 days to be the cap, as past 30 days you can no longer request a refund through paypal if memory serves.

Life update-- FINALLY MOVED.
Posted 10 years agoThis has been the most ridiculous move I've ever encountered. After those 17 rejections we were finally approved and supposed to move in on the 8th, right? Well, the 8th came and went and our "approved" application was still over at HQ in their "compliance" department. Monday we found out we needed to redo 2 documents, did that immediately.
I tried not to call on Tuesday, considering I had been calling multiple times a day for 5 days now. Later in the day I got a call and they said "So-and-so didn't call you??" SO I should have called for the 6th day in a row, lesson learned... they couldn't print one file like, God only knows why the file would open do its thing, but not print. I had to fax it to them. Tip: If you ever need to fax something without a fax machine but have it digitally: myfax.com/free/ use this.
My birthday was on Wednesday, the 13th. My birthday wish as I blew out the candles was that we could just move with no more complications. Finally Thursday the 14th we were good to go. I headed out and signed the lease, Sephi signed the lease on her way to work, and Saturday my parents came and we got the keys.
We went from around 9am to 2am getting everything over, it was absolute madness, and everyone is suffering from a flu at this point, since I brought one home from work, Sephi was on her worst day of it. If it weren't for my parents helping us I don't even know where we'd be today. I probably would have laid down in the street and cried.
In the end, this wasn't just an uphill battle this was like a mountain-scaling battle. I can't think of a better metaphor for it. Without my lovely mate on the other end of that lifeline, and without the help and support of everyone involved (basically my climbing tools) I can not imagine getting up this thing. I mean it might have been possible, but honestly between chronic illness disability and everything... I barely kept from shutting down as it was.
The place is small, but its ours, and its affordable. After a year at that other place, I never really felt like I was ever home. With Nick acting like he did I was always scared we were going to have to move and never fully unpacked. I never felt comfortable... but even just two nights here I already feel so peaceful and like I'm home. I'm exhausted, still sick, every inch of my body hurts, but we're homeeee.
I know we're going to end up with some struggles in the future. Nick left some of his stuff there, he never turned in his key, and he never gave them a forwarding address. I got them to sign something say when we left and what time and everything... but I already know when they can't find Nick that they're going to come after us. >:v So, I'm ready!

Posted 10 years agoI come here because I think FA is the only place I really feel safe sharing. ;v; so I'm sorry for all of you following me getting random blah journals. But the support I get and just the freedom of getting this out somewhere is a ton of help. Thank you~
Lets see... I've gone through 17 apartments. I'm having trouble finding anything else that's both within our price-range and close enough that Sephi could get to work and home again without going straight to bed the second she gets in the door. Everyone I do talk to is either a) no bad rental history or b) no bad credit...
I think its come down to the fact that I had some debts written off in um... 2010ish? Midland funding came along and bought two of them, about 1k each. (We wound up in a situation with 4 people living together and none of them having jobs, save for my disability income, so my credit took a nosedive while I tried to keep everyone fed and housed, but that's another story.) Despite being written off and unable to collect from me, they put it into collections anyways. I thought that was stupid, like what? You can't garnish my wages you're just paying for legal fees. Oh, but it turns out that if you need an apartment and something is in collections that you're FUCKED. That's how they get you I guess.
Its some special kind of bullshit that you can buy someones written off debts, debts they thought were out of their life, debts that were dismissed because of hardship in the first place, and then cause further financial strife... You're just making money off of people's misfortune, for no reason other than "hey, easy money, and they'll have to pay when they have nowhere to live!" Kind of pissed cause the attorney we went to said to just not show up and not fight it since they can't garnish my wages. Garnished wages aren't the worst of being in collections though, and no legal adviser thought to mention that?
Gonna try some of the 2-1-1 lines and other help offices like legal aids offered free by the state. Currently we have Sephi down for an apartment by herself with a co-signer. I'll see if I can pay these stupid collections (which makes me so mad that now they "win" but what choice do I have?) and be added onto the lease later.
The good news is I'm all applied for my license as a councilor! I have orientation on Monday, and the job looks absolutely perfect. Since I am on disability and I'm working on a ticket-to-work program its going to be great to be on call. On call for DESC is a set your own shift, however many hours you want, whenever you want. I only have one mandatory shift! So if my disability issues start to flare up I can pull back a little, or if not I'll continue on my "road to recovery" and blaze my path along the workforce! uvu <3 They had 139 hours of work available last week, so I can pretty much be full time if I want to! THANK YOU FOR THE REFERENCES, I wouldn't have been able to get it without them! @v@
For the 7 years I've been on disability I have never stopped working to try and get off it... Drives me up the wall when people act like its a free ride. I basically make 4 dollars an hour in a city where 15 is the min.wage goal... Trying to live off of that is next to impossible. But even if I could, even if I got paid enough to sustain myself, no one likes to be a "free-loader" and its so painful to feel like you're absolutely useless to society. But I digress...

Posted 10 years agoRoommate from hell has screwed us AGAIN without even being here. His 5 late payments, (FIVE LATE PAYMENTS IN LESS THAN 12 MONTHS) are now on our rental history and I'm told this will likely be reason for automatic denial due to company policy.
I asked about paying more deposits or having a co-signer and ugh. They're like "No once its there we can't override it." I'm just so mad. Like, why can't I just be done with this? I want to move on from this horrible experience and his screw ups are keeping me pinned here while he travels the globe with all his money doing drugs in Canada and whatever else he's up to these days. This apartment was perfect. He's officially ruining my life.

Posted 10 years agoUPDATE!!! I’ve been contacted by a anonymous benefactor who is going to pay the entire thing upfront. I’m going to cry, this is so generous and more than I ever expected.
I’ve changed the gofundme to cover the deposits on the apartment that is available on the 9th, minus the 400 I already have saved towards it. Its a much smaller and more reasonable goal, and I’m so releived that its now the only financial I have to deal with.
I’m so very moved by all the generosity and support I’ve received in such a short time. Just few hours ago I felt completely lost and alone, and had such a quick response. Thank you all so much, I couldn’t ask for a better support network. ;v;

My partner and I have been together 6 years now. I’ve been on disability for 7, so we’ve struggled financially for a long time. We’re used to pinching pennies and keeping a tight budget, but we’ve coped.
Last year a drug cartel moved into our neighborhood. We were witness to several large cash exchanges almost daily, and at one point had to climb over someone cooking heroine on our stairs at 1pm on a Sunday. When a friend offered us a place to stay it seemed stupid not to take him up on it. We didn’t expect to find out he had a drug problem… after trying to get him help over the course of 6 months, handling his hallucinations and constant blackouts, he abandoned the apartment in the middle of the night. We tried to help him, and I feel like doing the"right thing" cost us our own security, but I like to believe I would do it again.
My partner has gotten a new full time position, and I have gotten my BA and managed to file in my ticket-to-work and acquire an on-call position at DESC, a homeless shelter. We’re fully self-sufficient at this point, and I’ve even qualified for housing authority AND come up on the section 8! Everything would be looking up, if not for one small detail. We’re being evicted.
Us, and our adopted cats, are looking at the very real prospect of becoming homeless. We have until Tuesday before that goes on our permanent record. Every apartment we ever apply for will see that we’ve been evicted, and it may even make me ineligible for housing assistance.
The dozens of apartments we have contacted don’t have a move in until mid-May… but we will be on the streets on the 28th. I have no family in the area to stay with, and the only one that I could is a 3 hour commute away, and would only let me live with them and not my partner. I cannot abandon her.
I just need one more month. Heck, I just need a few more weeks…! We could move in as soon as the 10th and be rid of this place if we just had enough to pay this 10-day notice and cease the eviction process.
Anything will help us get out of this situation. Just a few dollars… if we don’t meet the monetary amount perhaps we could make enough to fund our stay in a cheap hotel for a temporary period of time.
Thank you for reading. I really hate to ask for this much money, but at this point I have no idea what to do to avoid getting this eviction on our record. Even enough to leave and go to a hotel would be great, as we don’t get any paychecks til the end of next week.

Posted 11 years agoKind of in a slump, having trouble with non-standard commissions, and in need of some money. The logical conclusion is to open another set of commissions similar to last time.
Full Body color+shaded commissions for $30, $50 for couple's, until slots are full or closed.

A reminder that I struggle in the winter months
Posted 11 years agoJust wanted to point out any lack of updates, contact, or failure of appropriate check ins isn't out of any personal spite or bias. u__u
Last time this year I was in the hospital, so its a marked improvement for me. But my BDI went 6, then 3, to now a 13 -- but last year it was in the 30s, like 36 I think -- so again, marked improvement!! And anyone who knows what a BDI is or if you don't I think you can guess by seeing that I was in the 30s and had a 3 a few months ago how good that is. xD The highest on the scale is 63 and anything above 29 is "severe"
So meds are working still but its taking a little more to get myself moving and motivated, and its taking much of my energy to keep up various daily living skills so I wanted to apologize generally, because I'm not sure if I have the focus to go and actually reply to everyone. I think there's like...3 people? But even then I'm disoriented and bah.

well I got bit by the bug and since I was having difficulty finding a well modded RP group I decided to start my own which... if you're on gaia you can get 1mil gold for getting referrals! And I'm also offering art prizes if anyone wants.
The last 4 days have felt like 3 weeks, so I'm a little mixed up on the rest of life so I'm still working on whatever I owe, I just need to get my head on straight again. Posted 12 years agoI explained the complication to the private grant I was working with. She took it to he boss and explained the situation and they said they still want to provide funding and that they think I'm the exact kind of candidate they're attempting to help with their grants. Woo! So they're going to not look at my cumulative GPA and only the 2 quarters I have left so if I can keep a 2.5 on these classes then I get to keep the grant.
So until spring quarter starts I'm going to be studying for the classes to come, working on some volunteer work (A skills group tomorrow and orientation for work at the zoo on Wednesday) and hopefully get some more drawings out uvu

I give up. I've been fighting this for a year straight. I just give up. Every time I get the hope "Okay, this route might work out." it dead ends. I'm tired of getting doors slammed in my face and trying to crawl through windows and there's no sugar for this lemonade so fuck it.
I'm so tired of getting "solutions" and having people tell me its okay, getting my hopes up that if I just work hard I can actually do this, and promptly smashing it against the rocks. A year of this crap.
"Oh you have trouble? Use your disability accommodation! What, no silly, you don't qualify for financial aid when you use that! You owe us 4000 dollars in the next few days or we kick you out! Good your mom was forced to cash in her life insurance? Well at least you paid that, but you still don't qualify for financial aid even though you took the courses we told you you couldn't take but forced you to anyways!! How is it confusing? Your accommodation that states you're a full time student is for "internal affairs only"... You're not even considered a parttime student! How about a private grant? Oh yay you qualify for this private grant, fill out this paperwork. Oh yeah PS your GPA has to be higher than 2.5. Its not because financial aid told you to take more classes that your disability accommodation said you couldn't do and then you didn't? Well college isn't for everyone."

I know they sometimes sell on Deviantart, but I hardly go there and... yeah xD Does anyone know if lineart has any cash value? Like lines that someone could recolor and resell repeatedly?

Posted 12 years agoOkay I've been on hiatus for school for a bit, okay a while xD Despite my midterm this thursday I've set aside Fri-Sun to focus on the things that got pushed aside. 1, cleaning the house, and 2, comissions.
If memory serves me well enough

a YCH for Leo omega
a minor edit for stray~ ((done))
I also need to recolor purna just give some alternate pallette swaps uvu
If I'm missing anything please let me know. I skimmed through my PMs as well, but my memory is not very high on the curve, so I don't often trust it.
That said once I finish those (which should be soon?) I will be working on any other commissions I can get. I hope to pump out a few while I have the spare time before i have to go back to the grind. (I happen to have a lull in studying right now because I just finished 2 midterms and a presentation)

Posted 12 years agoHey everyone! I just wanted to thank you all for being so patient with me. There is a reason I go on hiatus each time a school quarter starts, but I unfortunately didn't do all my commission work before that. I'm trying to find a weekend or a day where I can draw again...
I took up some practice drawings and I feel like I'm getting my spark back so now its just a matter of WHEN I can spend an appropriate amount of time for commission work. I draw fast but I really want to get that character in there so I spend a lot of time plotting a piece. More than 10 minutes in the morning, at the least xD
I'm on my way to school right now but I know there's been a lot of patience coming from a lot of people so I just really really want to thank you so much, you've made what would be a very stressful situation into something I know I can manage.
Anyways ya'll know who you are. Your pictures are NOT FORGOTTEN and I will give you the most beautiful work I can manage as soon as I can~ Again thank you so much uvu ♥

Regarding work and also personal stuff
Posted 12 years agoSo an update to everyone who commissions me or is interested in commissioning me.
School is starting in 3 weeks. In which you will not see ANY commissions from me, thus I will be closing all commissions, trades, and request work on the 20th and they will not reopen until further notice.
All commissions will be competed before the 23rd, or refunded on the 23rd.
The only exception is my comic work with hollandworks, whom I'm hoping to work on at school with the use of much better lighting and desks etc.
SO if you have anything with me expect it soon, if you are planning to get something GET IT NOW because I won't be working until the end of the quarter. These things tend to punch me in the gut and never let me up so I have to be very careful about my stress levels yada yada.
Anyways current prices are here-- and right now I'm still working on pricing so if you feel that's too much money for my art, PLEASE let me know and suggest what you would pay. I have no idea about the current market so I'm more than open to hearing feedback.
If I already owe you art, I'm sorry its taking so long! Its not normally this much of a wait from me, but as you'll see below my depression has had a little flare up so I'm trying to practice accepting that and giving myself a little leeway to drown myself in something meaningless and repetitive like WoW. xD But it is first come first serve, so when I pick up drawing again this weekend it'll be done pretty quick.

On a more personal note I've been reclusing pretty hard. My agoraphobia is flaring up like crazy, and the guilt and such that follows is making me avoid people. So I've been on WoW almost 24/7, to the point I looked in the mirror yesterday and was weirded out to see myself and not my character.
I'm letting myself ride it out though, hopefully I can get out of whatever funk is slowing me down. Bah. Until then, don't expect too much socializin'.
My downswings are pretty well managed these days, though. What would last months now lasts a week, tops, so I'd say the medication is pretty effective right now.
