Sorry for the Radio Silence
Posted 2 years agoOk, so I haven't been keeping up with these journal entries since June. You see I haven't been in town for the better part of two months now because I had a seizure. Good news is they removed the problem; bad news is I had to endure a month or two of rehabilitation, not to mention I had to be moved between two different hospitals. I only got out of the one hospital for outpatient therapy. I'm going through chemo therapy before I'm cleared to be on the road again. That's all and I'm going to be drawing while I'm doing it.
Things will Change
Posted 2 years agoOk, so I haven't posted a new journal in a bit but I felt like I should bring this up so people will know what's going to happen. I recently noticed that FA is potentially going to be putting more scrutiny in regard to the use of child characters and characters with child-like bodies with their upcoming update in this month. Now, some may know I have certain interests that are not safe for FA and I've been mostly avoiding posting any of that content on here for a while now but since this is extending to certain characters, I will likely be removing some of those posts and exclusively putting them on InkBunny. Now, I will not be leaving FA... yet. It's becoming tempting but there are still some people on here who I interact with and I don't want to leave here just yet. Some of my pics whether commissions or original art will be removed from here so anything that might get me flagged or banned so if you would like to have them, maybe save them to your PC or something.
Scammers Suck
Posted 2 years agoSo this last Wednesday was a very frustrating experience and is going to have an effect for at least until this coming Wednesday. What happened was I fell for a scam via PayPal request for money. I received a payment request for a bitcoin purchase and rather than just cancelling the request, I called a number on the receipt and spent about 2 and a half hours being strung along by them. If not for a combination of a panic attack and my grandma overhearing my distress, I would've been completely screwed. After ending the call, I ran over to the bank and brought this potential fraud to their attention. Good news – none of my money was taken by them and we avoided further potential fraud by moving my money into new accounts. Bad news – I had to change my passwords on the majority of my online accounts and my bank won't let me access my accounts online without my computer being scrubbed. I did get an appointment for a scrubbing of my PC this Tuesday afternoon but it will basically mean I'll have to spend part of Tuesday evening and Wednesday setting up my computer again. I still have my iPad but yeah it sucks. Not a good start this 2023.
A Difficult Year's End but Hoping for a Better One Coming
Posted 2 years agoSo... These last few months haven't been great. Now there have been some good things that happened as well but man, 2022 threw a lot of rough patches at me these last three months. October was kind of the worst which just makes me think the month has become cursed since 2019. Every October for the last four years have had major and difficult events thrown my way. This year, it was car trouble. Several indicators on my dash came on one Thursday at almost the middle of the month so I took it in for an emergency inspection. I had to take it to a Honda focused garage and even after having them focus on the major problem with the car, it still cost an arm and a leg and they didn't even have the car fixed for over a week. November was a bit better since it was my Birthday month but the Tuesday of Thanksgiving Week I came down with the flu which seemed to get better after Thanksgiving itself but some coughing and excess mucus from post-nasal drip stayed with me for almost a week. I had a week long vacation set up starting around my birthday into the first full week of December but I spent so much of that recovering from what lingered of the flu that much of what I planned on doing during that time was shot. It also didn't help that winter made me really lethargic already and I didn't really do anything Christmas-y until the middle of the month. On top of that, I wanted to get more pics out during these last few months but I think I only really managed to finish 5 pics and most of them were character sheets. While this has been frustrating some things have made these months better such as a couple outings with friends and family. I hope that this coming year will be better than the last few. We can only hope and try to do better for ourselves.
Hoping for a better October
Posted 3 years agoAgain, it's been a few months since my last journal. I've been kind of busy but have at least managed to work on some more original pieces recently but I should give some more news & details. To start, the apartment hunt has been put on hold until next year. My brother and I missed the window for trying to snag an apartment before the end of this year and we figured we could try to build up our shared finances and get some stuff in the next year. During the latter half of Last Month, it seemed like my eye condition from 2020 was trying to come back. About a week before August's end, my right eye was bothering me and was very red. It wasn't as bad as 2020 where I could barely see out of that eye but an emergency visit to my eye doctor and he said that it was the recurring symptoms. The last few weeks following the visit, I started to take some new drops and some pills and that seems to have fixed it, but I'll be keeping an eye on it...pun not at all intended. If things get bad again, I'll go to the doctor as soon as possible and we'll try a new treatment option. Beyond that, not a whole lot. As said, I made some original art recently mainly stuff for Palette City and I'm sketching some other stuff. I'm hoping to get some seasonal stuff sketched so I can have stuff out in October and December, though of course some commissions will be posted sooner. Look forward to them.
What's going on Right Now?
Posted 3 years agoSo it's been about 3 months since my last journal post and I've been a little infrequent. There's a few different things that have been going on. A large part of it is the apartment hunting. My brother and I decided we'd move into an apartment together as with our combined income, with the right place, we'd still have money available to us for groceries and other expenses. Unfortunately, the real estate offices for our first place turned us down because we 'didn't have sufficient income' or some shit. It kind of hit me hard the first day or two afterwards but we're still trying to look for a possible place or two. Another aspect is my new interest in figure collecting, mainly a figure or two that interested me and particularly the TMNT figures produced by NECA in the last few years. I'm also contemplating some kitbashing experiments to make figure versions of TMNT OCs of Mine and
nichan's. So there's that and of course stuff with work. I'll say that work hasn't been too bad...yet but we're getting some other drivers and cooks in and hopefully we'll be OK by this summer. I'm hoping to finish a couple original pieces related to this month soon.

The Year of the Tiger
Posted 3 years agoA new year has begun and this last year has had it's ups and downs. This last year certainly had some better moments than the year before; several online dates with
nichan, Going to my first Renaissance Fair and seeing a few really great flicks in the theater again like Venom: Let there be Carnage and Encanto. I'm hoping for some new things to happen this year like getting a different job and moving into my own place. Further updates on that will occur as they come. As a new year has come and I'm fond of the Chinese Zodiac, another kind of year long event shall be going on with me by in the Year of the Tiger, having some fun with Addy, Andi, some other members of their family and a couple other outliers among my OCs who could fall in that description. My aim is to do at least one pic involving a tiger OC a month. I've also got a new project I've been working on that I'll be showing in the next week or so. I'm not forgetting other projects though as I will continue to write some more chapters of Dairy Dame when I can.

The end of a Crummy October
Posted 4 years agoWow, I don't know if it was the same for anybody else but last month, kind of sucked for me. Now that's not to say that every moment of this last October was terrible as I did still get to enjoy something about the season I love so much like watching stuff with my parents, my brother and my girlfriend
nichan and I was able to enjoy my personals staples of the season but goddamn this last month still sucked a lot. Some were just frustrating alignment things relating to schedules with every person in my immediate family pretty much everyone except my dad work evening/late night shifts for work so we couldn't really hang out and watch stuff together throughout the month like we usually do. This also relates to again me not being able to see my close friends because most of them work during the week while I work on the weekend. Also work related, I'd been so exhausted from work that I haven't had time to draw and relax or do stuff like that. While I don't completely miss the financial uncertainty of Door Dash, Working for Pizza Hut can be so time consuming and emotional/physically draining some times. It doesn't help that the second to last week of October, my grandma and I lost our dog Murphy, I had a collision(I'm not hurt but there was some minor damage to my car) and my grandma decided to get a new dog who we've been adjusting to for the last week. It was just so much, I'm really hoping that this month, November and my birthday month will be better and not nearly as frustrating. Fingers crossed and I should hopefully have some more pics to post online and ones actually drawn by me.

Why So Quiet? I'll tell you!
Posted 4 years agoSo if you hadn't been paying attention recently, I've not posted a lot recently and there are a few explanations. First of which is work. My job at Pizza Hut hasn't been too bad but can be draining. I mainly work the closing shift on the weekends and since I live in a college town, that means I'm sometimes working till Midnight or 1am or even later depending on how busy of an evening it is. It can be very exhausting and drains my energy to where I just end up kind of relaxing most days if I don't have anything going on. The energy drain kind of prevented me from making progress on a few different pics. Additionally, my old tablet died. Luckily I bought a new one a while ago but I'm getting used to it so that's thrown another hitch in how my artwork has been affected. I'm gonna try to focus a bit more this next month since I have a few fun spooky themed ideas for pics and have felt inspired to revive some older ideas in relation to some new ones. Look forward to them.
Post-Suspension and Where Might I Go
Posted 4 years agoSo yeah, in case you weren't aware, I got suspended by FA for a week due to an old commission I got from Nori getting flagged after it having been posted for maybe a few years. Given that, I removed a few pics that had some elements to it that could get me flagged again. If something happens to me again, pretty much most of my stuff has been posted on my Inkbunny page. However, I'm considering having another place to post stuff if I get completely kicked from FA. I've got a Pillowfort but they've been down for a few months at this point so I don't know if I can post anything there. I'm considering an account with Newgrounds since their site isn't too bad. Once I get some things figured out, I'll post a journal with that information. In the mean time, I'll be posting some new stuff soon. Look forward to it.
Eye See You, Get Vaxxed and Other Updates
Posted 4 years agoI realized I haven't posted anything related to my eye situation since I had the procedure. The procedure went pretty well and the follow ups to check on how it was healing post-procedure also proved positive. My vision's back to 20/20(with glasses of course), no blurring and the only discomfort I've had has been a little itchiness from dry eyes or the feeling of putting an over-the-counter eye drop in twice a day. Relating to drops, my medications have been reduced to mainly the previously mentioned over-the-counter eye drop solution and anything I'm taking via pills which has mainly been the occasional ibuprofen and an allergy medication I've started taking since spring started. In other news, my new job at Pizza Hut has been pretty good if maybe a little tiring at times. I'm keeping busy with that and earning quite a bit of cash from tips and my bi-weekly paycheck. The schedule's kind of fluctuated here and there with next week having me work 6 out of 7 days but comes with the reward of 4 straight days off following it. I'm looking forward to it and hoping to do some pic work during that time. Additionally, I'm going in for help figure out my taxes this Friday and I'm getting vaccinated next Thursday. April's turning into a rather busy month. Look forward to new pics coming soon.
Eye Stuff and New Job
Posted 4 years agoSo some new updates on my life for anybody curious. First of all, an update on the eye situation I've had since August of last year. I'm having a procedure on it tomorrow(Monday the 22nd of February) and it will hopefully fix the issue. Fingers crossed. I'm a bit anxious but I'm just looking forward to it being over with. Secondly, I got a new job working as a delivery driver at a newly re-opened Pizza Hut in my area. The job's not too stressful, the pay's pretty good and the tips are an extra nice bonus. The only drawback is it'll keep me pretty busy, so I have to manage my time a bit better. Beyond that, I'm doing my best to get by and hoping that tax season isn't going to screw me over too much.
Closing of the Year & What's to Come
Posted 4 years agoIt hasn't been too long since I made a journal but I thought I'd post something about what is going on with me and what will be happening in the future. First off, the status of my eye condition. It's still not great. The condition I have basically means that while I've improved in some areas, I will just have recurring scarring that causes pain for the right eye but I'm managing it so far. My Doctor says that the best option at this point is for me to wear a bandage contact for now and take my drops until I can see a specialist for a kind of surgery. I got enrolled on an online healthcare market and am waiting to hear back from the state because I qualify for Medicaid and I need the insurance for the surgery. In other news, I won't be posting any seasonal giftarts this year. I was planning to but IRL stuff kind of got in the way of making giftarts for people and I didn't need the extra stress, so sorry my friends but no Christmas arts from me this year. ^^; There is some good news though. A few friends like
soldiersunstar,
batman123,
CO6268 and a few others on Discord server we hang on are going to be participating in an event we call The Year of the Moo! The idea being that a lot of us have at least one Cow character or a whole plethora of them and we thought it would be fun to do a year with a large majority of our art devoted to them. I figure this would be fun for me since I've got a few cow OCs I've neglected and have been meaning to do more with as well as wanting to do more with Dairy Dame, of which I've got the first story of her's 2/3s of the way done. I will be doing other stuff too. I've got a few ideas I want to draw and some that I've had in my backlog for more than a year now but Moos will definitely be getting a lot of love in the year 2021. Admittedly, I don't quite know what expect from the surgery but when I get more of an idea, I'll inform you guys. Look forward to the new year and what is to come.

Eye Update and Turning 32
Posted 5 years agoSo I haven't posted a new journal in a month and given my last one, I figure I should give you guys an update. So the current eye situation has improved but it took a bit to get there. Parts of last month kind of feel like a blur or blob mixing of work, pain and dealing with assorted stuff in my life. The long and short of it was that the pain came back once or twice but the doctor gave me a special bandage contact with some kind of amniotic fluid or fabric along with an anti-inflammatory. At my last appointment, the doctor said that my vision is back to 20/20 with my glasses on. He also made the plan is that we can slowly reduce my current regimen of eye drops incrementally. I have a follow up this coming Monday and I hope that I'm still improving. I'm also taking the following week off from work starting Thursday since I haven't had a real vacation since the Pandemic started. I've only really had days off or sick days and I could use at least a week off from work that wasn't thanks to a car accident, feeling like crap or my vision being so blurry that I can't see. Of course I'm working tomorrow and the next four days to make sure that I'm financially secure enough that taking a week off won't be a problem but that's the price you pay when you're a part of a company that treats you like an independent contractor. I'm hoping to take some time during my vacation to work on some pics and sort out stuff for next month so I don't have as much to be concerned about. Also my 32nd Birthday will be falling in the time of my vacation so I hope to enjoy that too. Hopefully, you guys will get to see some of what I'm making soon.
This Eye is Broken. Can I get a Replacement?
Posted 5 years agoSo I haven't posted a new journal recently because not a whole lot new or significant has happened to me...until last month. During July and August, my right eye would be kind of irritated, like a dry soreness. I figured the issue was just allergies so I made sure to take my allergy meds to try to deal with it and occasionally taking some pain killers. It seemed to work until the 25th of August when my eye was red, leaking, extremely sensitive to light, any attempt to close it came with pain and I could barely see out of it. So I had my grandma drive me to immediate care at a nearby clinic. They diagnosed me with pink eye, prescribed some eye drops to take and told me to schedule an appointment with a nearby specialist. After making the appointment with the specialist for the friday of that week, my mom called and had me go to a trusted eye doctor and I didn't really argue since she offered to pay and I don't have any medical insurance. So I went to the eye doctor and he said that the clinic got it wrong and what I had was some kind of trauma to the eye. He prescribed me some new drops and they seemed to work really well and a few subsequent visits over the last two weeks, it seemed like things were looking up. I had some mild irritation to my eye occasionally but it seemed manageable. I went over yesterday and the doctor said I was doing alright and would just have to take the drops indefinitely. Not such a bad thing...until last night. At ungodly hours of the night, my eye was feeling worse once more, like someone had snuck into my house and jammed a sharp pebble under my eye lid. I was a bit sensitive to light last night and this morning but I could still see out of it. I have an appointment later this afternoon to figure it out but I'm just so damn tired and numb of this situation. I just want to be free of this pain or at least have some kind of resolution to this situation. I don't know. I'll update you guys after this afternoon's appointment.
I'm still Here and Doing Better
Posted 5 years agoSo I realized I haven't posted a journal in a while and with how crazy things have been this year for...well, pretty much everybody, I figured it was a good time to post a new one. First off, the stuff with the Pandemic. I've been alright; been keeping safe and careful not to catch the virus. My work as a delivery driver for DoorDash has proven remarkably profitable during the previous months as I've picked up groceries for people and delivered for those who couldn't or wouldn't go outside. The only hiccups that have come up with work were when I was rear ended in a grocery parking lot and traded my old car in for my parents' Honda Fit nicknamed “The Tardis.” Like everybody else, I do find it frustrating about how this pandemic has thrown a wrench into any social plans beyond the borders of my county and limited certain things I could do or go to but I hope that this might not last too much longer and that I'll be able to visit with other people outside of my immediate family again soon.
For those who might not be aware, my girlfriend :nichan: has gotten a bit better. Some of her physical therapy has been halted due to the pandemic but her motor skills have improved well enough that she can use her tablet to interact with the internet. She and I chat almost regularly over Discord right now. It's made things much more bearable...along with a new addition to my family.
Around the end of April, my Grandma and I went to a local shelter and adopted a cat. Her name is Luna, she's a 9 yr old black/brown tabby and I've been taking care of her for the most part. She mostly has stayed upstairs in my rooms and has taken living in my study. She's helped me keep some sanity to a degree to take care of her.
I'm currently working on pics and will hopefully post some stuff soon. Look forward to it.

Late New Years Post and Incoming Pic Bombing
Posted 5 years agoA new year begins and hopefully it might end up being better than the last one. I was going to post a journal around the very start of the month but obviously that didn't happen. For those who might be concerned, I didn't have as much crazy crap happen to me in that amount of time but some new developments have occurred. For starters,
nichan has been improving and was recently discharged from the rehab center. She's back home but she's still recovering from a severe injury. I'm planning to go down to visit her. Additionally, my family had to say goodbye to a pet, my Uncle's Dog Sunshine who had to be put down just before the end of last year. It was sad to see him go but he was a large dog who had lived a long good life of about 14 years. Apart from that and losing my card for work, I've been managing and things have been going alright.
Enough about life news, lets get into the good stuff. I've been doing a bit more drawing recently and should hopefully have a new pic or two out before the end of the month. Additionally, I've once again been holding off on posting certain comms I've gotten in the last couple months, mainly sketches from
marauder6272. Much like last time, it was because either I was going to get them inked and/or colored but have yet to get around to it because of my schedule and expenses. So I'm probably going to bombard my page sometime in the next week or so with plenty of pictures. Look forward to it.

S***'s been Crazy but Improving
Posted 6 years agoSo I haven't posted a lot recently. Part of that has been because of an art funk I've been in where I've just not felt very motivated. The other part comes from this last October being an extremely stressful month where the Universe just wanted to throw shit at me after shit at me. Around the start of the month,
nichan had a car accident and has been hospitalized more than a month now. A couple weeks ago, my grandma went into have her knees looked at and at the doctor's suggestion, had knee surgery Friday of that week leaving one of her knees in a stabilizer. As such her mobility has been hampered and for a while, I took care of most of the household chores for her like cooking, doing her laundry and doing dishes. On top of this, Something changed with processing Billing information with the DoorDash app, so I wasn't paid for about three weeks. It wasn't helpful in the slightest. However things have been getting better; Grandma's been improving in her mobility, Nichan is recovering, I'm getting paid again and I'm trying to get myself out of my art funk. Hopefully, I'll have some new works posted before the month is out.

So much Stuff Going on
Posted 6 years agoI haven’t posted a journal in a long while. I’ve been kept busy with DoorDash and Life in general, I recently became a couple with
nichan. An additional aspect was that my parents helped me get a new computer which should be coming this Saturday as I type this. So that will be an interesting change. I’ll probably be adjusting to using Clip Studio Paint since it’s on sale. You’ll probably be seeing some new pics in the not to distant future. Look forward to them.

Dashing around
Posted 6 years agoSoooo, I realized I haven't put up a new journal on here and should probably update it given my last journal posting describing my jobless status. Thankfully, I did find a job and got hired near the end of February. I'm currently doing DoorDash, basically an online delivery service app where you get an order via your phone, pick up the food and deliver it to the destination. It's not been too bad; I can make my own hours, I know most of the food places around town and I get to go to places I've not been to in the area despite living in the town for most of my life. The only drawbacks are how often I have to gas up my car because of my deliveries and the occasional infrequency of my orders where sometimes I'll go for half an hour before I get an order, even during peak periods like lunch and dinner. Still I'm at least glad to have a job and getting paid. Along with the recent passing of my grandpa earlier this month and going to a convention last week, I'm doing alright. I'm hoping to set more time aside to work on pics and get some stuff sorted. Look forward to some new pics coming.
Job Hunting Again
Posted 6 years agoSo for those who aren’t aware I’m no longer working at UPS. It was a seasonal job that ended near the end of last month. I did have some money saved up but that only lasted so long. I’m posting this journal as a reminder that I’m open and accepting commissions. While I’m back in job hunting, I would appreciate if any of you would consider commissioning me, giving a signal boost that I’m open for comms if you can’t, or donating a few bucks to my Ko-Fi. Links below. Anything would help at this current time.
A New Year upon Us
Posted 6 years agoSo here we are in a new year, or an hour or so on the brink of it for me. This year has been an interesting one and brought a lot of change for me, my friends & family. I’m hoping to better manage my time so I can have some better output on stuff and more. You guys will probably see some new stuff soon. Happy New Year to all of you.
My Status and Plans for the Holidays
Posted 7 years agoSo I wanted to post this journal giving an idea of what’s going on with me and how it’s going to affect this month. So as I mentioned it in a previous journal, I got a job and in particular, a seasonal job at UPS as a preloader. While I get payed pretty well for my work and since it’s part-time in the early morning, leaving the rest of the day to me but has the issue of the start time for the shift getting earlier and earlier. It kind of screws with my sleep schedule and managing my time properly. In addition to stuff like other holidays and RL stuff, It’s thrown a monkey wrench into making progress on pics especially commissions and seasonal ones. I apologize to my commissioners who have been waiting a month or two for progress on their commissions. I do plan to do some work on them this week with most of my free time. I should hopefully have some wips to you guys soon. Additionally because of commission work and my other work, it doesn’t really leave me alot of time to do my usual giftart pieces to my friends and associates on FA & IB. Instead, I’m probably just gonna aim to get a festive pieces of my own out on time. Look forward to them.
30 years young!
Posted 7 years agoSo for those who may not know, I turned 30 today. Yup, I managed to survive in this world for 30 years. Would put something more profound but I just got back from work & need a nap. Comment Birthday wishes if you want. I’ll read them when I get up.
Halloween Pics coming Late from Me
Posted 7 years agoJust kind of a quick update. I was hoping to get another couple pics or at the very least one pic done for tonight but stuff came up like changing into this new job I have, I didn’t manage my time right and I’ve got nadda beyond some rough sketches. However the next couple days, probably dipping into next week, will probably have some late halloween pics posted. Look forward to them and I’m sorry to my commissioners, I’ll hopefully have some wips to you guys soon.
