It's Whitney's birthday! Go send her happy wishes!
Posted 9 years agoToday is Whitney's birthday, and while we're running around town, I'd like to try and flood her wall on here with birthday wishes. So head on over to
catsmeow to give her a bunch of love!
catsmeow to give her a bunch of love! Monday Stream: Peter & Company Pencils
Posted 9 years agoI got the stream up and running tonight, with the pencils for the next page of Peter & Company on the table. This page kicks off the next story arc, which will be focusing exclusively around Jeff & Eddy, so fans of those characters will have fun with this one.
http://peterandcompany.tigerdile.com
Now streaming (starting about 8pm EST) and will continue until 10pm, as usual. Hopefully I can get through the whole page, which should be easy since this one doesn't actually have any dialog.

Wednesday Night Stream: Whitney takes over!!
Posted 9 years agoWhitney has taken the stream hostage tonight to work on her own commissions and owed artwork! Tonight it's all about the lovely purple kitty (though the real-life version, not the kitty one), with the camera front & center while she works on coloring pieces in Photoshop. I'll also be around, though off-camera, inking through a few of the newer pieces (and cosplays) to the side while she takes center stage.
We're also getting a bit of a late start since we had dinner late, so we'll be kicking off around 8:30, give or take. So if you'd like to spend a couple hours watching her work and chatting it up with both of us, hop on over now!

Monday Night Stream: AND WE'RE BACK, BABY!!!
Posted 9 years agoYep, we're back live and running again. After what's been a good couple months of hiatus, the regular weekly Tigerdile streams have resumed, with new formatting and a new location in our now-renovated work room. Join the stream tonight as I crank through the next page of Peter & Company and chat it up over the next couple hours with folks in the audience. It should be a crazy fun time.
Oh, and something about a very limited number of character cameos available on this page, yadda yadda yadda.

Now streaming (about 8pm EST) and will continue until 10.

Current State: Productivity and Streams to Resume This Week
Posted 9 years agoHello, everyone!
I wanted to give folks an update as to the current state of everything here, since it's been about a month since the last P&C page and we've got a lot going on. We survived a monstrous flu bug, we have begun renovations on the house, and we have finally found a more regular work schedule to allow for productivity to resume. Most prominent is the fact that we FINALLY have rebuilt our old dedicated art area in the work room, where we used to always stream from to those who remember it. The past year I've had to work on all my art and host my streams from a temporary art space in the dining room, but it was far too cramped and annoying to have to work on a table that wasn't designed to handle art projects. So, we decided it was time to finally create a professional, solid art space: new tables, new hardware, and a new arrangement to give us plenty of elbow room and increase our productivity.
And what an increase we'll see: starting this week, I plan to resume streams on Mondays, Wednesdays, and occasional Saturdays. Mon/Wed will be at 8pm EST (as they were before), while Saturdays will be earlier in the day if I'm able to stream. It will vary week to week whether the Sat streams happen, but I'll post beforehand if they do. Regardless, with the upcoming launch of Peter & Whitney, I'll be starting a weekly Monday update schedule, with each week trading off which comic gets updated. So I'll be dedicating Monday's streams to working on either the next page of P&C or P&W, depending on which one just got updated, while Wednesdays will be spent working on either overdue commissions or additional content for the Patreons -- new wallpapers, character art, concept art, or anything else coming up.
And yes, that is Patreons, plural. We have a Peter & Whitney Patreon campaign launching this week, like within the next 24-48 hours! What this means is that the P&C Patreon will be dropping in price, and the P&W Patreon will have two subscription levels to it. I'll be posting additional details on that once the campaign goes live, as well as talking about it on tomorrow's first stream.
So yes! If you guys are able to, make plans to catch the streams this week. It feels so good to finally be ready to stream again and start cranking out work once more. See you all soon!

Peter & Company: Nominated for an Ursa Major Award!!
Posted 9 years agoWell, this caught me completely off-guard: Peter & Company has been nominated for an Ursa Major Award for 2015! To those who aren't familiar with them, the Ursa Majors are both a collected annual reading list and awards dedicated to online anthroporphic literature of all formats and genres. It's an honor just to be included in their "Recommended Reading" list, let alone being nominated for an award.
Specifically, P&C is up for the "Best Comic Strip" category, and is going up against several others, including the winner for several years running, Housepets by Rick Griffin. Voting is open to the general public (you just need to provide an email address to register to vote), so of you'd like to help support Peter & Company in the running, click below:
http://ursamajorawards.org/voting2015/
I'm not sure how long the voting phase will be open, but the results will be announced on May 22. I just want to thank anyone who may have nominated the series for consideration at all. I needed a boost to my morale after being crazy sick for the past few weeks, and this has just... completely blown me away. Thank you all, so, SO much.

The Flu Sucks
Posted 9 years agoEspecially when you have the flu on top of already having Crohn's and GERD. Long story short, the past week has not been fun. Both Whitney and I have been fighting the flu and thus have been completely unable to get any work done like we'd hoped.
Pending my recovery from this monstrosity of a bug, I plan to do the pencils for the next page of P&C on Tigerdile sometime this week. The next page will have room for a small handful of cameos (like, we're talking only 4-5 at MOST), so if you have a character that you'd like to throw down for a potential spot in the background, make plans to catch the stream! The specific date for it depends on when I'm feeling well enough to be on camera, so I'll post another journal later this week to try to announce it as far ahead of time as I can manage.
In the meantime, Whitney and I will try to get some additional rest to knock this flu bug out into the cold. This crap seriously sucks, yo.

Whitney and I playing Vanilla WoW: Come join us! It's FREE!
Posted 9 years agoWhat many of you might not know about me is that I'm a veteran World of Warcraft player. I played during the Vanilla release, through Burning Crusade, and was even the guild leader of a huge social guild that at our peak had over 100 members. I was a troll frost mage named Trekkie (capped at level 70 -- I was a force to be reckoned with), and it was a tremendously fun game. I quit the game after meeting Whitney and going back to grad school, and by the time I thought to try getting back into it, the entire world had completely changed and it was like a completely different game.
Jump to last week, wherein someone on Kotaku linked me to this: https://en.nostalrius.org/ - A private server running the Vanilla WoW client, prior to any expansion content (ver. 1.12). This is the one I remember playing the most, with the original 4 races on each side and all of the original areas and professions intact. Best of all, it's free to download the client and play (since they can't legally charge for it).
Long story short, I finally managed to convince Whitney
catsmeow to give the game a try, and she freaking loves it. Our awesome buddy
madcat75 is also joining us, and at the moment we're playing as Undead -- Whitney is a warrior, Madcat's a rogue, and I'm a priest keeping everyone alive (mostly).
Reason I'm posting this here is because we'd like to get more people to play with us! If you're a long-time WoW veteran or even wanted to just give the game a try and couldn't afford it, this is a great way to jump in head-first. It runs on older software (which is admittedly a little glitchy, but nothing game-breaking), but it's free to play, so give the client a download on the Nostalrius site to join us!
At the moment, here are our various character names:
peterandcompany
- Waddlejay: Troll mage.
- Mortlinks: Undead priest.
catsmeow
- Munchy: Undead warrior.
- Moolinda: Tauren druid.
madcat75
- MadcatR: Undead Rogue.
- MadcatH: Troll Hunter.
- MadcatS: Tauren Shaman.
- MadcatD: Tauren Druid.
- MadcatM: Undead Mage. (I'm noticing a pattern in his naming scheme)
We started playing the game fresh starting this past Saturday, and have been regularly on in the evenings ever since for a couple hours or so, just leveling and questing and goofing around. We don't plan on getting into any of the heavy endgame content, so this is purely just to hang out, grind out some levels, and just have fun exploring the world -- since this is Whitney's first exposure to the game, it's awesome seeing her getting into everything. We also would love to start a Peter & Company casual/social guild on the server, but we need at least ten people to get that ball rolling. So yes, if you'd like to game it up with Whitney and myself (and Madcat, I guessss), join us!! FOR THE HORDE!!! (and possibly the Alliance at some point)
https://en.nostalrius.org/ - Site to download the client (both PC and Mac) and register for your free account for the server. If you do give it a try, there is only one PvE realm available (since it's a private server), so hop in, make your character, and then post your details below or simply send us an in-game message if you see us online! We'll add you to our buddy lists and later on the P&C guild, once it's been made.

P&C Patreon: Re-revamped, now with ALL CONTENT UNLOCKED
Posted 10 years agoYup, we've done another revamp of the Patreon rewards for the P&C campaign. A few months back, we changed it so that it was based around the release of additional P&C-related content throughout each month, with additional pieces of content unlocked as more folks signed up. A good base concept, but let's be honest, you all want all that content NOW, don't ya?
So as such, everything is now unlocked. I've completely removed all but three of the milestones and made everything a flat reward just for joining the club. $10/month now gets you:
- All comics posted several days early before they are posted to the website!
- WIP Sketch scans for each comic page as well!
- Exclusive artwork, sketches, and colored images of the Peter & Company cast.
- Exclusive access to hi-resolution desktop wallpapers.
- Exclusive "Worm World" comics, posted to the Patreon page only.
- "Ask the Characters" Feature on Tumblr - Questions are asked directly of the cast via Tumblr messages, and full-color responses will be posted. Questions will only be answered from Patreon members.
- Exclusive previews of the animated pilot episode and upcoming animated series.
- Member-exclusive discount prices/bundles on future book collection releases.
- The Ancient Archives of Peter & Company - In January 2005, Peter & Company launched with a new storyline centered around Peter and his invisible friend Seth. Fun fact: there's a good six years of artwork, 30+ additional character designs, and 300+ comics that predate the Guardian storyline, all drawn between 1998 and 2004 as I was just starting out as a cartoonist in high school and college. The main cast of P&C is present, though in a very different form. Throughout each month I will be sharing these glimpses into their origins, with sample strips, character bios, and other explanations as to how the comic eventually was reborn with the story it tells today.
- Exclusive access to all book-exclusive comics. See the story of how Peter and Seth first meet!
- Those who choose to support the series by pledging more than the base $10 amount will have their names included as a "Thank-You" underneath every page that is published while their pledge is active.
The three bonus milestones which will be unlocked in time now include the following:
$500/mo - Comic Tutorials unlocked. Once-a-month tutorials on comic and art production from both Jonathan and Whitney, with potential guest artist tutorials as well.
$750/mo - Monthly Skype Raffle unlocked. Patreon members can enter their names into a free monthly raffle for an hour-long Skype audio/video call with either Jonathan or Whitney (or both!), to discuss your art projects, give critiques and feedback, or just chat with us about whatever you'd like. Scheduled on a weekend and based around the winner's availability.
$1250/mo - Monthly "Inking Room" Demo Streams unlocked. Once-a-month Saturday streams giving live demos of any art subject, with topics to be requested by Patreon members. These streams will be password-locked and only accessible to patrons.
All of this is now active as of today, and the first of these new rewards will be posted starting this week. I plan to make the "Ancient Archives of P&C" a regular weekly feature post, and now plan to have at least two Worm World comics each month to share, in addition to everything else. This is a WEALTH of additional content available for just a $10/month pledge.
If you'd like to help support the series and get all the above goodies, please consider pledging! We'd also like to extend a HUGE thank-you to just everyone who has been reading and enjoying the series so far, across both the original site, this gallery, and the new Katbox readership. You all are freaking awesome and we wouldn't be able to keep doing the series without you.

Stream Tonight: COMIC CAMEO TIME!!
Posted 10 years agoHello, everyone!
Man, it feels like it's been forever since I've been able to turn on the cam and get some good work done. The entire month of January has just been absolutely nuts so far in terms of having the available time to work on art projects, let alone stream said work. I definitely want to get at least one good stream session in before the end of the month though, and tonight's the night!
The next couple pages of Peter & Company will have room for a handful of character cameos in the background. These pages take place in the school cafeteria, so your character will be aged to around 12-14 years old accordingly. I've also updated the rules a bit for the cameo process:
- Your character must not have appeared in a cameo role within the 50 most recent pages of the comic. If it has been longer than that, the character may be given another cameo.
- Your character must be a species that fits within the P&C universe. This means they must be just a standard anthropomorphic animal. No fantasy creatures, no monsters, no humans, and no extreme/exaggerated features. No neon green glowing horns, no massive 12-foot-long tails, no flaming wings, etc etc.
- You must have a complete visual reference to send for your character. I cannot base a cameo on a written description alone.
And, as always, cameos are FREE. All you have to do is show up to the stream and be watching when I say it's time. I will figure out how many spots I have available, and if there are more people than spots, a random number generator will decide who wins.
Tonight's stream (Thursday, Jan. 28) will start roughly around 8pm EST, with the placeholder going up at 7:30. I'll be putting up another journal when the time comes.

2016: Personal Updates and News for Peter & Company
Posted 10 years agoHello, everyone!
I would like to apologize for the delay in the next page. Whitney and I have had a situation arise that has caused a bit of a hiccup in things.
Long story short, Whitney and I have decided to take a huge step and make an offer on our house. We’re going to be first-time homeowners, which is both extremely exciting and completely terrifying.
This all began a couple weeks before Christmas, right around the time the last page of P&C and the first page of Worm World were both posted. So as such I haven’t had either the time or energy to draw the next page.
The important thing, though, is that everything is working out beautifully! While Whitney and I are getting everything situated, I’m going to start streaming again this coming week and have scheduled the next page for next Monday, January 11th. Additionally I will have the next Worm World page also posted to the P&C Patreon for all members to enjoy.
And speaking of which, if you have been thinking of signing up for the Peter & Company Patreon Campaign, there has never been a better time than now to do so since we absolutely could use the financial help with the new home. It only costs $10/month and gets you access to all kinds of bonus materials, with more content unlocked as more people sign up. This home is a HUGE step for us and we cannot put into words how grateful we are for every bit of support you all have given us.
Thank you all so much! We’ll see you soon,
-Jonathan and Whitney Ponikvar

STREAM NOTICE: I will no longer be scheduling in advance
Posted 10 years agoHi guys,
I've had to make a decision regarding my stream schedule. For the past month or so, Whitney has seen a shift in her work schedule because of a rather significant promotion at her work. This has bumped her up to full-time, but also means she now has to work opposite hours of my own work shifts, putting her right smack in the middle of the time when I would usually be streaming.
As such, I've found that most nights (much like tonight's scheduled stream) end up getting bumped to the weekends or cancelled outright, since we don't know her specific work days ahead of time until basically the week of. So I've decided that for the foreseeable future, I'm no longer going to be scheduling streams in advance. I figure this will lessen the frustrations of people who show up to the stream channel at the scheduled time only to find that it's not happening.
From this point out, I will no longer be planning streams each week. If you want to be able to catch them, follow me on any of the following three places, where I will be posting notices as soon as a stream is about to go live:
On FurAffinity (via journals)
On Twitter
On Tumblr
Or, the easiest option, simply Subscribe to the Stream Itself, though you need to register for Tigerdile to do this.
Potential stream times will be weekday evenings between 6 and 10, or any time during weekends. Just keep an eye on the above accounts (or set up your notifications accordingly) and you'll be able to catch them the moment they go live. Hopefully this will be much more convenient for everyone.
On Twitter
On Tumblr

Stream Schedule for the Week
Posted 10 years agoHello everyone!
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, I hope you were able to spend time visiting and relaxing with your family and loved ones.
This week's stream schedule will be a bit different than usual. Whitney and I have company visiting through tomorrow, so I'll be unable to stream tonight. To make up for it, Friday I will be streaming almost ALL DAY since I have off work that day, so make plans to catch it if you can!
Here's the schedule (all times EST):
Mon, 12/28: No stream.
Wed, 12/30: 6pm - 8pm. Penciling the next P&C page.
Fri, 1/1: 1pm - 7pm. Special extended stream, working on potentially-NSFW commissions and Patreon art.

See you all there!

No Streams for This Week Due to Holidays
Posted 10 years agoYep, it's the holidays this week! Originally I had hoped to at least get one stream in this week, but nope, we got too much to do! So I'm holding off on streaming since holidays, visitors, and traveling come first.
Merry Christmas to everyone! We'll see you all again next week!

Saturday Inking Room Stream: Casual Fun and Cosplays
Posted 10 years agoHey folks!
I've got the cam up and running to do a laid-back and casual Inking Room stream. I welcome everyone to bring your own projects in and share your WIP's with the group for feedback, and just use the productive atmosphere to get some work done on your own end. Or just stop by to join in the chat and laugh it up for a few hours, since hey, it's less than a week before Christmas and you need to focus on something else for a little while!

Now streaming (about 1pm EST) and will continue until likely 4 or 5 pm, or whenever I run out of steam.

All Streams This Week: Moved to Saturday
Posted 10 years agoHey guys,
Unfortunately I'm going to have to bump ALL of my usually-scheduled streams this week for various things that have come up, but to make up for it I will be hosting a several-hours-long Inking Room stream on Saturday. it's been a good while since I ran one of those, and it's always fun to see what other folks are up to on their own projects, so I'll probably be starting it in the early afternoon and running it until I run out of steam. On my own end I'll be working on commissions and Whitney Cosplays the whole time, so it'll likely have the NSFW flag turned on for it.
I'll post a journal once I figure out the exact time when I'll be streaming. Until then, have a great week everyone!

Stream Bumped Due to Migraine
Posted 10 years agoHey guys,
It's 70 degrees and raining in the middle of December. I have a wicked migraine that isn't going away. So I can't even bring myself to look at the computer monitor at this point, let alone stream. I'll be back on Wednesday to work on some NSFW stuff, provided my head hasn't exploded by that point.

Friday Stream cancelled
Posted 10 years agoHey guys,
Sorry for the late notice on this one. I'm having to cancel tonight's stream to help Whitney with a few rather huge chores that need to get done before Sunday. I'll be back on Monday night at the usual time, so I hope you all have a great weekend!

Now Streaming: P&C Pencils and Lootcrate Unboxing!
Posted 10 years agoHi guys!
Tonight's stream kicks off with an unboxing of this month's Japan Crate, with both Whitney and I on camera together sampling the (mostly delicious, occasionally terrifying) treats contained within. After that I'll be finishing up the pencils for the next page of Peter & Company and working until 10pm or so. So hop on over and catch the fun!

The game is set up so even folks just watching the stream can join in, and certain titles can even accomodate a RIDICULOUS number of players. Come join in, cuz the more players that play, the better it is!

Friday Night Stream: Cosplays and Boobs!
Posted 10 years agoHello, folks!
Tonight I've got the stream running on Tigerdile tonight to finish up the latest Whitney cosplay of Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop. Once it's done I'll be posting it in the usual places online, and then spend the rest of the evening working on a few NSFW commissions on my backlog. So hop on by for the next few hours if you've got nothing better to do this evening! (though if you picked up Xenoblade Chronicles X today, yeah, you're probably pretty preoccupied)

Wednesday Night Stream: Early and Short!
Posted 10 years agoHey guys,
I've got the cam turned on tonight to work through the pencils for the next P&C page, but due to hitting traffic on the way home I was unable to start at 6pm EST like I'd hoped. This means I have basically an hour (90 minutes tops) to get through as much of the pencils as I can before I need to pick up Whitney from work. So, hop on over if you'd like to get at least a partial glimpse of the next page!

Now streaming (starting up at 6:45pm EST) and will continue until 8pm, or 8:15 at the absolute latest.
