I'm sticking around, but...
Posted 2 years agoIt seems like I've been too absorbed watching TV while FA threw grenade after grenade in its house.
The whole "underage art" thing flew over my head until I noticed a few of my friends and favorite artists leaving FA.
Tsuki being among them, due to experiments now being part of the "too underage-looking" species.
I'm gonna stick around and I will keep posting whatever the hell I please, including experiment art.
If Dragoneer has a problem with that, he can order the longest motherfucker BD can produce, shish kebab himself on it and have his admin staff ride the business ends.

Long-term art plans incl. Patreon

I've pondered the orb for some time and I've made some plans for the future, which I'll explain below:
PATREON
Recently I had a major breakthrough with frame-by-frame animations.
My recent uploadwas a test to see if I can pull them off using rendered scenes in the background and I'm quite satisfied with the result despite the many errors and setbacks I went through to get it done.
One thing I've learned is that I need to upscale them like 1.5x - 2x . Minor movements are a bitch to animate when transformations are limited to a minimum of 1 pixel in any direction.
I plan to do more of these animations and because they take so long to make, I've decided to make them a temporary Patreon exclusive.
You've probably seen other artists do this model, where they would post an art piece on their Patreon and then post it on their social media after X amount of time.
That's what I intend to do with animations, but I'll do it as a pay-per-view thing in stead of monthly sub... My art schedule is too inconsistent and I don't want to unintentionally rip people off.
I'm still trying to figure out how the tier system works on Patreon, but if possible this is how I want to do it (prices are not official, they're put there as an example) :
Tier I : Animation loop - 6$ (delayed for 1 month on SM)
Tier II : Animation loop with climax scene attached - 10$ (delayed for 1 month on SM)
Tier III : Short movie involving a comic-style intro and multiple sex scenes - 24$ (delayed for 2 months on SM)
I'm open to opinions on this, positive or negative. I'm curious what you guys think about this, considering many of you have asked me why I've never set up a Patreon before (the short answer to which is I'm inconsistent as fuk boii)
I will work on another animation soon which I intend to color and shade just so I can test Patreon.
If I gain enough experience doing these over time I could start animating stuff without the use of background renders and that's one thing I'm really looking forward to.
3D ANIMATIONS ARE SADLY NOT HAPPENING
While I was animating the background render for my FBF animation, I found out that Cinema 4D is absolutely horrible for animations.
There is an option in almost all 3D software that have rigging, where you can make a hierarchy of bones (IK chain) move in a certain direction by following a point (shoulder - > elbow -> hand for example).
I've noticed that the rigs I would require to make proper animations would not function properly if I decided to attach said points to something.
Example : IK chain of a shoulder -> hand, where the hand point would be attached to the waist of another character.
Bug : Cinema 4D cannot calculate the positioning of the bones properly and you get a 0.5 second delay between the arm+forearm bones and the hand, so the hand would be fixed in place but the wrist would be shifting uncontrollably, breaking the mesh.
Considering I only know how to use C4D and learning another software like Blender would take me years to master, I've decided to give up my attempts at animating in C4D... at least until Maxon decides to address the problem.
They have the same mentality as Adobe where they'd fix or improve the bare minimum of issues from previous versions just so they can get your money for the new release / next month in the subscription , so animations might not be an option for another decade.
BRINGING BACK ARVIONS
I stopped drawing one of the species responsible for my growth as an artist around 2013-2018 because of their outdated anatomy and 3D models.
I've been on the fence about getting them back in the scene because I've been focused on expanding seyloid lore. It's been quite a few years since I started doing that and I'm still nowhere close to having a consistent background for them.
I think it's best I diversify my content a bit in stead of focusing entirely on a single species.
I will have to go back and redo the base models and touch up their anatomy before doing any art with them but now nothing is stopping me from getting to it.
MAKING ANOTHER SPECIES
This point is related to the former in the sense that I've been focused on one species for way too long. I'm thinking about making another alien race, which would be slgihtly less anthropomorphic, but good looking enough to do NSFW with.
I will ask you for feedback on every post with them so I can figure out what's appealing and what isn't.
And I'm thinking of adding them just for NSFW to do standalone pieces with them or combine them with my existing species.
The past 3-4 years have made me realize creating a universe for a species is a humongous task that is quite burdening on my feeble mind.

I'm out of danger as of today.
Yesterday morning I was rushed to my doctor's office because I was dehydrated to the point of delirium and thankfully she had an old IV stand from which she could hook me to a glucose bag.
I stayed in the backroom of her cabinet for the whole day forcefully drinking tea along with hard anti-diarrhea drugs and they seem to have worked.
My fever was also gone by noon and haven't had one since then.
I was taken home in the evening and today I have just enough energy to walk around for short periods of time.
Right now I'm on strict diet and medication to get back in shape, but it might be a bit over a week until things normalize.
I'll elaborate a bit on why me and my family were against going to hospital.
I live in Bulgaria, which is one of the shit holes of Europe.
Since the pandemic began the country has been short on medical staff and the ones we have are exhausted and don't give a shit about the patients they treat.
Had I gone to hospital the chances are I would have been cut off from all contacts with family and left with barely any treatment in isolation.
Right now everything you catch is potential covid so hospitals are not taking chances.

For the past 4 days I have been severely sick with something that isnt covid, causing nonstop diarrhea and constant fever of 38.5 degrees.
I'm extremely dehidrated because all liquids I take in turn to diharrea within 20mins.
My family is afraid of taking me to hospital because they separate all patients from their relatives due to covid suspicions and we've been hearing only horrific stories about the care they provide in isolation.
They don't even give updates about patients conditions during their stay because of bureaucratic chains.
I won't be replying to messages because I have barely any energy to write.
If I disappear it's because whatever I got has won. I will post an update if I survive

I haven't written here in a long time.
Mostly because nothing eventful happens around me and because anything I announce early suddenly gets scratched off my plans.
I'm just gonna explain why I'm done with commissions and it boils down to why I do art in the first place.
I draw when I feel like drawing and if there's no emotional drive behind what I'm doing, the work I put into a piece starts feeling like an annoying chore.
A big chunk of my gallery is filled with gift pieces, because when I draw for somebody I know and respect, my drive and end goal is them being happy with the piece I've done for them.
Compare that to doing a piece for a random person for money, which I don't really care for, there's nothing but the thought "I have to get this done".
Art has been a coping mechanism for me and what has kept me going through the 7-year depression up until 1-2 years ago.
The feedback and appreciation for my work is what pushed me to keep drawing during that time.
I considered raising my commission prices for the unpaid commissions in my current queue, because I felt the money didn't justify the time and effort put into the previous ones , but I thought about it and realized that even if I jacked the fees up to 300-400USD a piece, I'd still resent working on them.
One - because the idea behind each commission is not mine, sometimes goes against what I'd draw, and two - because I'm doing it for somebody I don't know.
One could argue that I can get that sort of work done if I disciplined myself to do it automatically, while listening to something I like or just zone out and not focus too much on what I'm doing.
I have tried that in the past and it worked for short periods of time when I was clear-headed and able.
In truth, my mental problems interfere a lot with my work and for the past year they've been making a steady comeback, as a result of which I've been mentally and physically out of shape for months.
Self-doubt, existential crisis and the lack of will / energy to do anything but cope on YouTube videos have ruined me.
At this moment I'm completely lost in life and the only way I can produce any art is if I do what I want during the precious sparks of drawing mood I get every other week.
I don't see myself doing commissions outside of my inner circle of friends.
No amount of money justifies turning my main coping mechanism into a job, wasting time and energy for people I have no connection to.
I will finish the commissions that have been paid for, no matter how many weeks / months it takes me, but the others in the queue I'll cancel.

Seyloid 3D Model Crowd-funding project

Apologies for the long absence! Life's been pretty rocky these past couple of months.
The topic of this journal was previously mentioned on my discord server so I'll explain in detail what's in the works.
A couple of months ago I spoke with
DrakoSacerdos about the seyloid species and he was interested in making fleshed out 3D models for me.
As you know, making fleshed out variants of the species has been the bane of my existence and I never managed to reach that goal.
I decided to collaborate with him and made a large variety of refs so he can start working on the models.
However Drako needs to open a crowd-funding page to make this project worthwhile.
The goal is 1200$ per model and the reason for this is the big differences between the male and female bases that cannot be interchanged.
