I won't be deleting this account any time soon but I will most likely do so eventually, so if there's anything you want to save, do so now. Though it's all trash, lol.

Posted 9 years agoTo the some-odd count of maybe 30 people that actually read this, hi! Happy Halloween!
As you might have noticed, I haven't posted anything in something like 4 months, save for today. WHOOPS. Well, life's caught up with me. I'm 18 now, as of early August, so yaaaay adultness. I've got a maxed course load in a great university in NY, learning lots of cool things, really excited about what's to come. Computer Science and Interactive Games & Media double major. I intend to have a minor in Japanese, and leave school fluent in english, spanish, and japanese. Hopefully all in 5 years, one full year of co-op so I leave the uni with prior work experience to get them jobzzz.
I'm finally out of a house where I felt abused and berated constantly. I'm getting to relax a bit more without the weight of my parents' monumental expectations sitting on my shoulders. However, as usual, it comes with new challenges. I now have to share a very small space with another person (college dorms r tiny, yo). Thankfully, my roommate is really cool and down to earth, and shares some of my kinky sentiments, so what comes up on my screens doesn't make him totally uncomfortable every 5 seconds. However, its still a different atmosphere, as I have to deal with his alarms, his chatting while he games, the smells of the foods he heats up and eats, etc. All small things, but all new, and they can add up, especially on stressful days when I wish I had a place to go back to where I could be in private solitude. That, and the bathrooms. GOD, the bathrooms. I never knew it was so hard to piss until you walk into a stall and you're like, wow, I think you got more of it on the floor than in the bowl, gg. Oh, and the fact that -some- guy is like, huh, where should I shave my pubes -- OMG YES, THE SINK, THATS WHERE > leaves counter and sink covered in pubes.

Fortunately they're cleaned like every two days, so I just found the bathroom on my floor that's the least used and that's where I go.
Now, about art.
I've got a couple outstanding YCH auction pics that I'm working on, however, one of them has been a struggle, for certain reasons mostly dealing with my style. Its been changing a lot, so much so that finishing the piece in my old style has become such a chore that I keep putting it off. However, I'm still slowly chugging through it, with what time I have for art what with my busy schedule. Not only that, but its such a new environment to try and be creative in. I'm not alone, I've got lots of outside distraction, and I constantly feel like someone is looking over my shoulder. It pulls me out of my immersion in my art so very often, and its been a rough transition trying to figure out how to get past that and find a way to still draw. I've tried multiple times to keep up a steady drawing regime but I've failed each time, as I get swamped with assignments, or I just lose motivation and manage time poorly. However, I do have enough sketches that I could definitely start posting again, and try and post one each day.
I've also been thinking about what I want to do commissions wise if I open back up. I think I might start opening for sketches here and there. What would you guys think of that?
In other news, I've finally found someone to really chat with art about, that being spikylord
dradgien . Honestly it helps so much, as its the first time I've been able to chat with another artist and not feel like a monumental waste of their time. For whatever reason I can communicate with him and learn how to improve by the guidance he gives. Its been a big help in terms of motivation, and just not feeling so lonely as an artist in general.
Additionally, I'm looking forward to a visit with a close friend over winter break that's been a long time coming, and a second visit with another friend in January for a special treat. All of my friends know who they are and they are some of the best people in the world, they're who keep me afloat.
And so ends my little update. If you guys think I should do these more, tell me in the comments, I'm just not sure I have enough watchers that care or enough watchers in general to make it meaningful.
