About PG's models.
General | Posted 19 years agoSome of you might be wondering about the weird symbols on some of my artworks, specifically my 3D Models so here is the poop...
Theses little jobbydos are a graphical reference to the way I let folks use my 3D models. Following is a definition of each of the icons I use, from left to right.
*(cc) Creative Commons. This just means I'm using a creative commons type copyright. Think of it as the old circle c, but it lets you know you have some rights to use it. Have a look at their home page here. http://creativecommons.org/
* (by) Attribution. If you distribute this model you must attribute the work to the author or licensor. (Phantomgraph) Permission is granted to wave attribution for use of the model in noncommercial stills and animations. (Although attribution is appreciated.)
* (nc) Noncommercial. You may not use this work for commercial purposes without explicit permission. You must contact the author for any commercial use, however in most cases permission will be granted without a fee. (Although attribution may be required depending on use.)
* (sa) Share Alike. If you alter, transform, or build upon this model, you may distribute the resulting work only under a license identical to this one. You are not required to distribute your modifications, but if you do you should provide contact information and a list of your changes.
Their are of course other license types but I generally don't use them for the models I let other folks use.
All of my models come with this license for you to read in both English and in lawyer babble. The files are distributed in tar.bz2 format(BZip 2) Most archive utilities nowadays can handle these files, their just a little oddly named for windows users.
If you have any questions or want to request a copy of the model feel free to contact me via e-mail. PG }:8>
