I've been tinkering around with mechanics a fighting game in the vein of CoC or Nimin. It's fun, and the mechanics seem to work (though this is about as contentless as it can get, of course): http://textadventures.co.uk/games/v.....eton-mechanics

However, I have a problem. Saving is only possible to a limited extent if you play it online (without downloading QUEST itself), and it seems pretty important to that style of game. Online there is one save slot, but it seems to disappear pretty quickly. I'm wondering if anyone more tech-savvy might have a suggestion of how I can solve this to proceed?


My current 'solution' right now is simply the notion of adding passwords that you attain at certain levels and can enter to gain X amount of levels and such if the game is reset. Cheat codes, woo.

I've been tinkering with QUEST again to make a text adventure. I've finished up a small haunted-house type place, with a few scenes and (very simple) puzzles inside. My motivation for adding more detail has deteriorated now that the main mechanics are in place, though, so I'd like to hear what people think!

Since I'm apparantly on a crazy productive writing spree right now, I want to follow Luther's example and open for some short requests. I'm thinking 1-2k words, plus-minus. Really depends on how much it sparks my creativity.

HOWEVER, I'm deathly afraid of my motivation suddenly dying out on me again, so I cannot promise to finish these.

I figure that I will pick the idea that I like the best, then work my way down, but I don't expect to do more than one or two for a start.

The more details, the more vivid a picture you can evoke, the better the chance of catching my muse.

I've been considering copying VDO's gimmick to livestream while writing, as in a larger thing or smaller bits with suggestions from the audience.

I have no idea if anyone would want to tune in, though, and I'm not going to even try and figure out how livestream works before then. So that's the question, dear watchers. Also keeping in mind I live in Europe, it's be around eveningtimes GMT+1.

So, I have the problem of being a very erratic writer. I write it bursts and then just hit a wall. Now that I'm done with travelling, I have some time, however, and seeing VDO's excellent "inspire me with pictures!" short stories, I feel that I would try to emulate that idea. I can write quite a lot in RPs, so I figure I could write short stories for pictures to get myself to write more often.
