For those who are following me on here, I do have a Twitter account: https://twitter.com/Collect_Turnip
So feel free to follow me there! I've been uploading work doodles and sketches so far, but it's easier to upload so I've been more regular.
So my FA page is kinda gathering dust at this point, while not abandoning it entirely I am using Twitter more, if for the relative easy upload process. And access through just my phone.

Night in the Woods
Posted 8 years agoWell, I've hopped on the hype train for Night in the Woods. Got the Switch port, finished first run and now on my next, seeing what I missed.
Love this game.
Love this game.
Samus Returns is fantastic!
Posted 8 years agoI haven't been beaten up by a Metroid game in a long time, I love it! I am wary of Hard Mode and Fusion Mode though, cause goddamn everything already hits like a truck.
Speed runners have their work cut out for them in this game!

Not even gonna bother lowering my expectations for this one, I'm just too fucking excited about this!
Also screw anyone who gets in a tizzy over AM2R shit, at least Nintendo cares about their IPs, especially this one which is not as popular in Japan.

Breath of the Wild
Posted 8 years agoFirst off, I am glad I played Xenoblade, since this much open world in a Zelda game is extremely mind boggling.
Now, overall, having finished the prologue, Nintendo definitely did something pretty great with this one. That said, getting used to everything is taking a lot of time.
Also, I fucking hate Ocktoroks, I really fucking hate them. Like seriously.

Shin Godzilla
Posted 9 years agoSo, I saw Shin Godzilla, the newest Godzilla film from Toho. Man, it always awesome to see a Godzilla film in theaters and this was no exception.
I was disappointed that the people I went with didn't exactly like it too much, though their criticisms were valid. The movie went into the whole political aspect of a monster attack a bit much for them, which I understand.
The Godzilla design is mixed for sure, but the first appearance has this 'ugly cute' thing going for it!
And then the big scene, the atomic breath reveal.... god damn, loved it.

Old computer game
Posted 9 years agoDoes any one remember this old computer game/information thing that was about predator animals?
Like, it was sort of an interactive version of those scholastic books or what not, with some videos in it that were voiced by a rather overly dramatic person describing the animals, with overly dramatic music too.
I just can't remember the damn name, even though I remember everything else

restaurant work
Posted 9 years agoWorking in a restaurant often has me wondering what our liabilities are.
'cause goddamn, what is wrong with some of these customers.
Stop letting your fucking kids run around the damn place. Please teach them to not leave a fucking mess too.... though adults aren't any better.
Also, please don't sit at a dirty table that I'm still cleaning, you're just going to complain that's dirty

I'm still alive
Posted 10 years agoHowdy! Greetings to those who still care!
Wow, I've really let this thing collect dust.
I had job hunting take top priority for the past months/year, with my time in between spent on games and such. Though being jobless didn't exactly help the drawing mood either.
Now that I've (finally) found something, I should become more active on here in a little while. I just need to get myself back up to speed, been neglecting my art skills for a bit.
Once I know my full work schedule (been training the last week), I'll be able to plan out my time more and such.

Job Hunting Part 2
Posted 11 years agoI thought getting responses back would take time, yet some how I managed to bag at least two interviews within four days, two of which were made on the same day I applied.
How weird is that?
Also, yes I'm still alive, and yes there will be art work... eventually. Besides the job hunt, my life is now taken over by Hyrule Warriors, Curtain Call, and Smash Bros 4.
Thank god I have at least one month to prepare for Smash 4 Wii U x__x

Job Hunting
Posted 11 years agoOut of school and into the rest of my life.
It's annoying that entry level jobs are asking for experience before applying to them; how the hell am I supposed to have experience if this job is going to give me experience?
Also, I hate online job applications. Why the hell do I need several thousand accounts to different sites just so I can apply for single positions that they have?!
Okay so they might have openings in the future, but that doesn't mean I need accounts to every single place I'm looking at.

How To Train Your Dragon 2
Posted 11 years agoGreat movie! Probably better than the first movie, but better not get ahead of myself.
Make sure you all bring tissues when you see it, had me going a few times during the film.

Godzilla (2014)
Posted 11 years agoOh man, great movie. This was totally worth the wait. Story was great, effects were great, the monsters were great, Godzilla himself was great!!
I honestly think this was the only time I've ever heard an applause for a Godzilla movie. Three times during the movie in fact!!

Status: Busy as hell
Posted 12 years agoI'm still alive, school work has just been piling up; it's at the point where I'm either stressed out enough to be tired or I caught a bug and I'm stubbornly resisting it until Winter Break.
Anyways, not sure how many of you actually read these from me, but I hope your month has been full of fun Halloween related things!

Oh 'Cool World'
Posted 12 years agoSuch a strange movie; plot all over the place, deus ex machina ending, passable animation, weird imagery, and starring Brad Pitt.
Yet it has it's charm.
http://sexymonstersupercreep.tumblr.....st/56705773020 and despite being an utter bitch, Holly Would has some amazing dance moves.

The Loch Ness Horror (1981)
Posted 12 years agoThe Loch Ness Horror, a monster movie starring the legendary cryptid itself, Nessie. Released in 1981, the film revolves around creature and it's attack on the humans who venture into it's lake.
Thats about it really, the movie is relatively boring. I hate to say it, but I've seen better horror movies based on Nessie than this one.... and I hate admitting it 8|
While the Nessie prop is pretty overall decent, it's just a head and neck; it's actually kinda cute, hardly something to be terrified of.
The plot suffers from having too many subplots; one involving the theft of it's egg, one involving a scientist who seeks to study it, and a sunken Nazi plane. Of those three, one is dropped off entirely, another is fixed up almost 30 minutes away from the ending, while another takes over the movie.
And no it's not the Nazi plane sub-plot that gets solved; what would have been our climax with the monster coming on to land just makes way for Nazi plane. The monster itself feels more like an after thought for the rest of the movie, it's death feeling really tacked on, literally done with 5 minutes left in the movie.
Still, if anything it's worth watching because of how bad it is.

R.I.P Ray Harryhausen
Posted 12 years agoSpecial effects legend, Ray Harryhausen, age 92, has passed away.
It... really hits me hard, I'm a big fan of his work. He was a great inspiration, his stop-motion top notch! ... I almost can't believe it really...
Rest in peace Ray, may your work live on and continue to inspire those who watch your films.

Of Unknown Origin (1983)
Posted 12 years agoSynopsis: After his wife and son go away for a week, Bart Hughes is tormented by a rat of unusual size, that has decided to make his home it's territory. As the days go on, this rat proves to be much more cunning than Bart had expected as he tries to be rid of it.
A horror/thriller directed by George P. Cosmatos, for a movie about a rat this was pretty damn good. Unlike the usual fare when it comes to 'monster' rats, this one is portrays the thing as just larger (and smarter) than the average rat.
An intense thriller, this thing kept me glued to the screen, even has a few good scares. With no body count to rely on, the movie instead follows Bart descend into obsession over the clever animal.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qs7iOca1wY full movie is currently on youtube, but like any other copyrighted material, might be taken down eventually, so get to watching it while you still can.

School School School
Posted 12 years agoA status update, still alive, just that school has absorbed my life for these past few weeks. A lot of hours spent on time consuming assignments for my Communications classes and the such.
I'll probably be putting stuff on here eventually, cause I'm still drawing in my spare time, at least when I have it XD
