I'd just like to take a moment to put the spotlight on an author I've followed for years that has some interesting Science Fiction and Fantasy books I'd like to recommend.
One of my personal favorites of his is Children of Steel, it's a novel about a future where anthropomorphic animals (The main characters are leopards) are created in labs to carry out tasks deemed too hazardous for human standards of the time. Their service to humans is in the form of indentured servitude, and their freedom is earned if they can manage to survive a rather hostile term of occupational service. It's told from the perspective of the leopards, and it gives a unique view into the challenging and very eventful lives of these beings.
I recently discovered that he's working on a sequel to this book, there are also others he has written that are related to the first Children of Steel book I'd recommend looking into also.
If you're so inclined, he has recently started a Patreon that gives you some behind the scenes access to his stories in progress.

Kaze: Winds of Change signal boost
General | Posted 11 years agoHey, fellas!
I just wanted to spread the word on a cool project I learned about at Anthrocon a few weeks back, they're running a kickstarter project for it and it has about two weeks to go, check it out here! https://www.kickstarter.com/project.....inds-of-change
"Winds of Change tells the story of Kaze, a warrior who overcomes instinct and low birth to gain the prestigious position of king’s guard and the notice of the crown princess of his homeland: Winds of Change is an epic story of romance, betrayal, magic, and destiny rewoven.
With the help of the Kickstarter community, we’re making the Kaze: Winds of Change audio drama freely available through YouTube, with supporting illustrations, musical score, and a full troupe of voice actors. In 2004 the animated short, Kaze: Ghost Warrior, opened a brief window into a kingdom that extended far beyond the 22-minute experimental film. With your support, we can throw the doors open and tell new stories in a rich, ancient world."
The main site for the project can be found here: http://kazeghostwarrior.com/
Here's the 22 minute animated film that gives you a peek into the story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEPk-Z3u918
Declaration Pictures announced their intention to adapt Kaze for television as a new animated series, scheduled for pre-production in 2014 and release in 2015!
I'm already a backer for this project, and I'd sure love to see this go far, so please take a look if you have a moment, thank you!
