canada day aprehensions
Posted 13 years agowell it's canada day, and it seems that they've given the anthem to the shatner to sing, havent we learned from the mistakes of the past? Never give an actor a country's national anthem to sing. We've learned that mistake from Rosana Barr, she butchered the american anthem during superbowl I believe. Well this canada day, the canadian anthem will probably go where no national anthem should ever go, to be ridiculed for 6 years as the singing will have been out of sync with the tempo of the anthem. of course all the trekies out there who have probably bought mr shatner and mr nemoi's greatest hits album on cd will know they really cant sing. now I wait paitently for the after festivities to tell of the singing of the national anthem, to read of how bad it was probably butchered X3
Yay for summer army employment
Posted 13 years agoI finally got some net time for my laptop after slipping someone $5 for some net time to update my system, beats the hell out of using a crackberry 24/7 to post comments an replys here on fa that an it's hell of alot cheaper than paying through the nose for using up your data plan too x3, well wut can i say, I'm out here in sunny warm new brunswik, driving the good ol canyonarrow for a bunch of officers on their basic officer course, American's shacked up in the cadet camp not too far away from where my shack is an ofcourse the ever popular infantry suicide watch, seems someone on june 1st decided to off themselves over getting dumped by their girl friend on the same flor as me, decided to hang himself in the small locker we call a closet using his belt, his ex was the one that found him, well atleaste he wasn't into autoerotica. living in the shacks sucks, you have an average age of 19 to 24 year olds and they seem to all be going on 13 since they cant seem to control themselves when they begin to heavily drink, i've told the few that wanted to invite me along to one of their club hopping escapades that i dont drink with kids that can't hold themselves incheck, they seem to always come back an destroy the common room in their drunken fights, so i just stay in, paint my space wolves and drink my absynth alone, keeping to myself, so now it seems 1 more month or early august an i go home back to Ontario, an hopefully on to a brigadeexercise to have a little fun. Well there is one constant that i've come to know, the army is recession proof, there's always work for a corporal with skills as a driver and is able to use a plethora of weapon systems x3
boat op begins
Posted 13 years agoWell, it begins today, our little boat op, training the infantry on the drills we would like to see while on our boats, but of course last nights rounds of drinking won't be a problem. Yay! For fishbowl fridays at BP's. :D slept like a baby when I got back to meh room. So wut if I like to drink "bitch drinks" like some one refered to my ceaser and long island ice tea's before ending the night on a shot of vodka. Meh drinks were still made with booze! :D Beer I enjoy at home after work. :3
freezing meh tail off
Posted 13 years agoWell, this is so unfair, 2 weeks ago nice an warm above 27c an now -2c in welland for a quick boat op. All I can say is the water is gonna be balls cold! :o On a pluse side I'm gonna be spending a night in a best weastern, than the evening a boaring long drive back to home to unpack the assault boats, possibly I'll have some pic's of tomorrows little boat op with the infantry XD
Slow day at the office
Posted 13 years agoWell it was all going so well today, too well it seemed. out working at the rail head getting the vehicles we took to Indiana for the one brigade exercise, we had just finished unloading the first set of rail cars of vehicles and were working on un-wiring the rest. seems fate would not have us finish today, some poor mook and 2 others who decided to play beat the train. 2 made it but a 3rd wasn't so lucky, ended up also shutting us down early since they had to pull the crew that hit the teen away for investigation, which trickled down to us, taking the train crew that were were using to move our rail cars around to go and finish a run for the train that was involved.

home home on da range
Posted 14 years agoWell I'm still alive, been out in Alberta again for a month on a small base that holds big exercises out in it's training area, seen lots of wild life out here, deer, cyotes and many, an I do mean many big beafy cows XD When I had gotten here oct 9th I was made the meals on wheels driver for the head quarters, now that the exercise is over, I'm doing odd jobs here and there, range control's job more or less. So now I'm sitting in a guard trailor, manning a gate into the training area. If not I'm driving the black tracks in 4 wheele drive in a ford xtr F-150 picking up C9 box drums (M249) for the yanks out there that don't know the canadian equivelent, as well as 1 hour smoke pots. Though I wish that I could have been opfor instead. X3
Oh p.s. Driving 4 wheals on slopes of 75 to 80 degrees is quite fun to go up an down :D

Yay! its clearout day! :D
Posted 14 years agoFinally! The day that I have been waiting for is finally here. I've nearly cleared out, just have 3 more things to do an than I'm outta here an heading back home an to civilization, though not that living on a base has some perks, but that's when working outside the school XD So when I went back to general duties, it was tearing down the mod tents an cleaning them by hand to get ready to turn in. That was some bawl busting work. I was like asking the section commander "why dun we use the wash bays to clean the 250 or so tent tarps?" Out of all those fronts, centers an rears to get cleaned an ready for the turn in, trying to beat the weather what was suposed to piss rain like no tomorrow. Which never happened during the day, no real surprise how the rest of us GD slaves felt bout that. Well now all I have to hope is that hurricane Irene vears out to sea, just so I can fly out monday afternoon xD
Short Time : 9 more days an a wakeup:
Posted 14 years agoWell its been a slice being out east in New Brunswick since the 15th of May, now I have to start packing my kit back up, as well as. unneeded clothes an foot were. I'm now just marking time till that day comes when I can leave this base an return back home. This is like the last time I'm going to take a tasking for CFSME/RETS. Just because how retarded it has been out here, it was never as bad as 07, but then I didn't get paid for 6 weeks an was threatening to cut contract cause of that, can't expect to have someone work for nothing, an yet expect them to pay their bills hmm? Well, this year was a whole new kind of army retardedness at the Engineer school, sticking a warrant officer out in a place to try an get him to be forced retired, cause the school didn't want him around didn't really help. They just ended up dealing with him more. He is the type of warrant that, no order he gave you could make him happy enough to leave you alone so that you could get other work finished. He'd also try an make you sign for things that were to be used in the construction of the mess tent for the course, like camo netting, so if anything happened to it, it would come out of your pay. He's the kind of warrant you learn to hate not respect, just cause someone of rank is above you dosn't mean their superior, just means they're a higher rank only. I've also heard that his two ginger sons are also trying to play off the "MY daddy's a warrant officer, you can't do anything to me" card, all I have to say to that is... Sins of the father transfer to his son's *EG* So now its the last week here for me so the school has pulled me back from the gauche taskin of being a driver at base transport, to go through the retardedness of tearing down the tent city, possibly in the last moments too, juust how this dumb ass warrant likes to work, cause setup was the same way, lots of make work projects, sitting on our arses playing hide the thumb, than BANG! You have 2 days to get 18 mod tents up and ready for the courses that are comming on ground that weekend. Now its going to be the opposite, the courses leave an we're just going to sit around somewhat playing the same hide the thumb game, just so at the last seconds he can hold us to do work an make us scramble to get our stuff packed an cleared out of where we had to clear in is going to be a pain for those on tight scheduals to keep.
Sorry for this little lengthy rant, needed to vent an get this off my chest, I know there are some military fur's out there with equally retarded things that have happened to them at a training base, not a combat one or FOB. My respect to the non-coms that have been to the mid east.

finished some space wolves :D
Posted 14 years agoWell, this is the last set of models today, a bunch of wolf scouts, 3 wolf guard, 2 gray hunters, ragnar, logan grimnar and a iron prist today XD so now I have to wait till I get home to upload the pic's of the small grope of painted wolves, though I decided for my scouts to color code their pants, regular scouts are brown, special weapons are red, snipers are khaki and shotguns are a gray whiteish color X3 I may add other special weapons like rockets or heavy bolters lator on X3
Root canal part 2
Posted 14 years agoThis just in from the dentist office civi side, while on leave today, I finally found myself a dentist that will finish what the army started, though they won't do a gold crown, only a ceramic one since that's what the army coverage will cover, so ceramic it is *pout pout* More updates to follow later on right now it's 1350 hrs or 1:50pm for the non military out there X3 take care...
yay part 1 of a root cannel @.@
Posted 14 years agoI just got a part 1 root cannel done at base dental MIR after getting turned away yesterday for being a reservist under 180 days, had to use the QR an O's just to be treated today. So now I have to with in the week go civi side for a part 2 an fill which the Cptn that treated me said would cost me $600 which I could claim 90% of it back X3 Yay for reserve coverage, if I had the money I would have taken care of it much, way much much sooner that having it gotten this far. Well at leaste I get the day off today and tomorrow I should be right as rain to work, when really I could have done something at leaste today ^^;
grey knights complete! :D
Posted 14 years agoWell its finally done, I've finsihed both the terminators and the grey knight squad, now I'm going to work on some space wolves to get a small squad up an running for small battles first XD
knight have been progressing nicely
Posted 14 years agoWell since I had left for new brunswick, I had taken some models up with me to paint especially the gray knights I have been working on every now and than, just dun wanna take pics of em on my crackberry cause it dose them no justice at all how grainy the pic's are XD
5 or so more weeks to go :D
Posted 14 years agoWell, things are slowly drawing to a close on my contract here out in New Brunswick, living on base is a boring thing, and having been east a 4 previous times, there is verreh little for this shape shifter to do, well except to paint my war hammer models as well as go to the junior ranks for a pint or two XD where the beer is cheaper than at the bar' than in freddy, an best thing is I don't need a cab to take me home, as the communal shacks are a good crawl away XP I've been calling this shack the animal house for a long time, it is totaly an on going frat party herean broken beer bottles out on the front, warped doors, sometimes a rodent or two in a trap, as well as possible signs of other serving furs in the common washroom, and yes it's not an open head concept like in Ft Hood X3 seems that for the remainder of my contract I have been moved into base transport just cause of my troop lift qualification, that an I'm able to drive the MSVS(canyonarrow) XD oh an just one more thing, I am never coming back to CFB Gagetown to work for CFSME/RETS as general duties personal, you would have needed a tacometer just to measure the ammount of spinning in any one given day. Some orders wouldn't be passed along. Properly by the section commander or second in command, the Canadian Forces may have neglected to issue me a crystal ball, because I don't have ESP and I can't read the minds of warrant's who have been passed over for promotion to the master warrant position, and are ginger that don't have people skills and treat his rental.. Err... Reservist subordinats as 5 year old kids. This was the first time I was ever treated like this since my trades course QL3 back in 99. I have begun calling this course GD, but ofcourse there may be some military furs still left in Ontario going "now wait a second, it can't be as bad as OP Caidence in Huntsvile and Toronto back for when the G8 and G20 were going on." Well I have to disagree, one of my roomates was on OP Caidence and says that it is on the same level. Now to finish off with a quote from the transport nco in the L-lines "It's like a shotgun blast in the face full of gayness" X3
oooh a contest! if any one wants in?
Posted 14 years agoFollow the link for the contest if intrested? :D http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2467845/
Another year older
Posted 14 years agoWell here it is, 7 days after meh brithday an another year older, don't know about wiser though, still alone but finally climbing out of debt, well I have learned to never buy a new vehicle, it a real ball and chain, it's kept me from fun and future conventions that I have been missing ;.; hopefully I will once again go to another anthrocon an laugh at the ranting gryphon's routines on stage, maybe get tied up by some friends this time *smirks* buh a fur can hope and dream for the lighter side of life XD
im alive
Posted 14 years agoWell I'm here in Gagetown NB, its pretty boering so far as a GD/driver, but hey, I dun have to pay rent while out here. And the weather is something else! Rain! Lots of rain, more than any other time I've been here and cold too, moreso than it should be. It's Gagetown!... It's not susposed to be this cold! D: it's susposed to be hot an full of mosquitos now, though I'm glad the mosquitos can stay gone :D
Going to be disappearing for a while
Posted 14 years agoWell I had a fun time, did a little exercise called Trillium Response - Con plan links where we were an experiment in weather the primary reserve and regular army could be called up by the ministry of natural resources to fight forest fires. Needless to say we pulled it off to a overwhelming surprise of the MNR and the brigade that ran the exercise, though I was conned into going early as advance party to help in setting up a few HLS or Helicopter Landing Sites for the exercise, well I was happy to be allowed to cut down trees on crown land. So both the Brigade and MNR that were present were more than happy of the set up when the exercise finally got underway. Of course the Regular Army went first so they could get back to base for happy hour.... Of course, it's like it always goes, than it left us reserves to pick up the rest of the so called notional "forest fires" that were in the most difficult of terrain features, 60 degree inclines at max while humping a pack of hose, each pack holding 4 lengths of 100 foot hose, and of course we carried 6 packs out to attack the "fire" which was nothing more than pounded pickets with a colored top that was hinged, so if you hit the target, the fire was considered held but not out, which left us to complete 2 more passes back over our initial attack and than the return before our MNR handler said that the fire was considered out. Of course it wasn't finished there, our section of 4 had to retrieve all the hoses through the track we had made, as well as a little extra bit of Ooooh and awwww to the exercise there was a water bombing set on to show what the MNR plane's and Helicopters were capable of doing in dropping the water load on target. Well after all was said and done the whole site was torn down and the section was picked up from our insertion by helicopter and flown back to main camp where A,B and C coy were all formed up for a group picture with the MNR, than we turned in our orange nomex jump suits, so no more carrot patch XD So now that that exercise is all said and done with, im being sent out east till August to be board out of my mind, so Im bringing some movies and some models to paint till I get back, or if I get some decent cell reception maybe an update on my journal now and than from newbrunswick XD
last day of course
Posted 15 years agoWell here I am it's the last day of my drivers course, I hate getting up at O'dark stupid stupid, that's just a lil joke about getting up earlier than most normal furreh's. So here I am waiting in the mess hall for 0630 to arrive so I'm just killin time, glad I stopped off at Tim Horten's for a timmies an a sandwhich to tie me over before breakfast yay! So far it's a slow saturday morning. Damn it I should be watching something mindless on the scifi channel or some sort of basterdized cartoon today XD Oh well, cheer's an have a good weekend evereh fur! XP
Well happy nude deer every one
Posted 15 years agoI had came back last night from my trip out to big ol BC for a mobility exercise, building MGB, MR, and good ol assault boats, not to mention doing a zip line crossing of a nice rock drop off and fast running water. I just lurve making my own swiss seat out of sash coard *grumble grumble* though the rest of the exercise was fun I had also enjoyed the pig roast at the end of it too, yummeh! unfortunately we wern't allowed off the training base to drink the local taverns dry and most of us were leaving the next day on flights back for home, so I touched down back in Ontario at 2 min to midnight and the new years, har! gotta love it how it made me think of a classic maiden song too X3 so yush I be back home now and getting ready to head back onto my driver's course and other unit exercises XD
travelling to BC yay!
Posted 15 years agoWell here I am on a stop over at winnipeg, sitting around board and writing in my journal on my cell phone, yay I lurve my crackberry curve. Outside is now dark as I wait playing hide the thumb, on a later flight cause airport security searched my carry on with a swab finding RDX traces... Hello! Combat engineer, it's what I do, I use explosives in demolitions work besides building bridges. So no I'll be heading in later than I should be yay!
Christmas Care
Posted 15 years agoYush, since the general stand down I had been on course and completed over 520 Km for the MSVS so now I only need to do a final road test to become qualified, as well as also having been chosen or volintold to help out with the christmas care this year since being a driver within my unit, which has been put to use taking people home that get a ride in. Tomorrow the fun begins, getting to deliver boxes of toys and food to places that haven't picked up their food since the 20th and drive all over town once more, makes me want to play the happy happy joy joy song :P Hope every one is also enjoying their holidays as well as waiting to devour their turkeys and or hams this year X3~
General Stand Down
Posted 15 years agoWell looks like the brigade has gotten orders to stand down, hopefully nothing like this will be happening again anytime soon, though Im keeping my gear packed and ready to go for any occasion especially for my tasking out to Chiliwack BC which is also coming up, playing around on my Vista as well with an old Nextar W3G GPS playing with it's registry, hopefully would like to get my hands on a tomtom registry or another kind of GPS registry to hax with so my gps is up to date since it's old and discontinued, but yes Im kind of relieved that the general stand down was given, so now I get to somewhat relax, and take in the yiffmas season in relative calm.
6 hours notice to move
Posted 15 years agoWell, Im now active on domestic operations with 6 hours notice to move for the next 2 days, hopefully no other drivers try to take closed highways and get stuck all along the ditches from Sarnia to London @.@ I love having only just around 3 hours of sleep before driving around in winter XD As tired as I am, I still haven't gone in the ditch :P This is Phynix signing off for a muchly needed sleep, hopefully ther is no call till much later tonight, that'll make me happy at least. X3
Some uninvited christmas guests
Posted 15 years agowell this makes 3 down in a few weeks but it seems that there is a nest of mice living downstairs *Sad face* and it seems that they are living in some of the insulation there so I set up 2 traps billy the exterminator style doing a little experiment on which will work better, one with cheese or one with creamy peanut butter *EG* so now the wait begins again since the last one I caught woke me up from some good zombie killin sleeps XD
