I'm writing you with some emotions, that'd undeniable, but I couldn't keep quiet. I had to write thanking you for oh so graciously fixing the noisy-ness of my laptop's fan. I really didn't want to be "that" person in class with the horrible computer noise. However, I don't appreciate that upon the return of said laptop while it lacked fan noise it also lacked the ability to boot up or run!
I appreciate that you quickly took it back to solve the problem, however, you didn't do that at all. In fact, now it boots sporadically and has a plethora of error messages. I don't even know where to begin. I am baffled that this has happened as it never occurred to me, me the compulsive worrier, that this nice, free service would ruin something for me. It never occurred to me to distrust the smiling crew of students behind the desk though now I'm regretting the decision to hand over my laptop. I'm suddenly seeing that my joke about leaving behind "my baby" should have been some sort of foreshadowing.
Thankfully I could get my notes off of your file and back them electronically now. Thank god for that, however, that changes nothing that you've broken my laptop and upon emailing you about it, you merely told me to buy a new hard drive and you'd install it for me! Thank you, but what? I wouldn't need to even be thinking about buying a hard drive if you hadn't broken it! Now, thankfully, I have an older laptop that I can function with. Yes, it overheats and burns me because the fan is broken, but at least I have it. Yes it's fan is even worse than the other one, but at least I have it. You haven't ruined everything.
you didn't ruin everything, and I'll survive even without this being resolved. You did break the one nice thing I had though. I have a lot of things. I'm blessed in life, but I buy things used. I bought the smallest size tv I could, on sale, when I got a new one. I have a used phone and always have. I buy clothes used and on clearance racks. I have a second hand blender even, but they are all loved and they do their jobs. However, that laptop. That laptop I got for my education. I received that gift for Christmas years ago with the knowledge that I would need it and use it and cherish it for my education, that'd it'd be taken care of and would last. Now, you've taken away that one immaculate thing. You don't seem to realize it, but the very first piece of damage that laptop got, a little scrap on the lid, I hated myself for a week for it. You don't know, but the first time that laptop slid sideways off the bed and the corner broke off a little piece of plastic, I couldn't sleep for four hours because I was sick with guilt at myself for marring this nice thing I had. You wouldn't know that because you're just strangers, but you went and you topped me! At least I don't feel responsible for this destruction, though ultimately, if I had been a bit more worried and not given it over to you, it'd be fine (though noisy) right now. If I had just cleaned the fan myself. If. If. If.
If you hadn't fucked it up. Because it's not my fault, no matter how much this sick feeling in my gut is telling me that I must of had something to do with this.
You've also triggered my first anxiety attack of the semester, thanks, I thought I was escaping that for awhile. Might as well jump right in though right? Don't wanna be the last one to find themselves unable to breath at their desk! Had to break in the room a little with some good all nausea and panic. Thanks for speeding that along.

This year for Valentine's Day I have a super awesome, extra special, brand new opportunity for ONE single person! One slot only! I'd entertained this as an idea for awhile, toyed with it, and bounced it around but now I've finally figured it out and set it in stone! What makes this slot so special? What makes it the perfect present to that special someone on the upcoming day of love, affection, and holiday-inspired lingerie? Drumroll please!

This single slot is going to not only be a Pickles written commission of a Valentine's/love/romance themed commission (meaning no buying it then asking for some extreme fetish or fanfiction thing, this is a Valentine's commission with couples or a hook up, but nothing crazy), but will be illustrated! The price will include my story commission and illustration by 
Spazybuns (Examples of their work here or there). The illustration level will be a surprise, but it will be at minimum of a two-person colored picture. The story length will be at minimum 5,000 words though it could be longer as I am inspired by couple stories often.
Since it's a single slotted thing and is so unique, this will be done through bidding. The starting price is going to be $50 even which is the basic cost of a 5,000 words commission from me so the entire package has discounted prices on the two things it includes (part of why its so special!) The bidding will run until January 31 at noon(12:00 in the Chicago/USA timezone), giving about a week for the bidding.
Starting Bid: $50
Minimum Bid Increase: $1
Do not bid more than you can pay. Payment will be through Paypal after bidding is complete. Please be ready to pay within 24 hours of the end of the bidding otherwise you'll cut into a tight time slot on finishing in time for Valentine's Day.

Please Read! Art! Painting! Someone I Love!
Posted 11 years agoI have a friend who is a painter. He's very good! And recently he quit the job that he hated. This month, he's been stressed trying to make up the money for rent as people who owe him money haven't returned it and the art he's been trying to sell online hasn't sold. The art he does have listed on Etsy (link below) has been slowly decreasing in price since it was listed! I would love to see someone buy something of his to not only help with his rent, but to re-inspire him to support himself with his talent.

That's his Etsy store, please take a look at his work. There's only three up right now because it's sort of a trial run for him. If you can't buy a whole painting, I understand but if you'd spread the word about his art, I'd love it. If anyone is interested in specific personal pieces, i.e you want to have yourself painted? Let me know and I'll see what he thinks. He does oils and watercolor paintings and they are beautiful. He also does caricatures.
P.S: He doesn't know I'm doing this. He didn't ask me too, but I so badly want to see him succeed. So if you can help that happen, please do so!

Posted 12 years agoAs you most likely know, I'm a writer. I don't do much on here, but on SoFurry I have a decent following. I've been bouncing around the concept of having a picture to accompany stories, but I don't have a lot of income to burn on such things. So I was curious if there are any artists who have some extra time on their hands or something and would like to draw something for a story I'm writing, or have already written! I wouldn't be able to pay, or maybe only a few dollars, but I would happilly give you huge waves of praise and pimp out you as an artist- you might gain some watchers from the deal.

I have less and less time but I know that I want to have a sack as full as old Saint Nick's when I go to hand them out! See the dilemma?! To try and take care of that I'm offering flash commissions! Since the items are in a general price range, those that act faster and buy items sooner will get better prices, that's part of it! Act fast! Update: I'm adding "add-on items" which is basically items that are similar or expand on gifts on the wish list. Buying these items along with other items can give me a better gift and gives you a longer story and usually a bigger discount as many of the add-on items increase the value of each dollar in terms of words per dollar! This is my Amazon wish list. On the wish list you will see comments beside each item telling you what word count story you would get upon purchasing that gift for me. Pick out one or more (I can either combine them into one story or you can get multiple stories depending on the length and your preferences) and then PM me here on SoFurry and tell me what you want to buy and we can discuss what story you want. After I write your story you purchase the item on my Amazon Wish List and it will supply my address to ship it right to me! Easy Peasy!

If you want to get a commission but nothing on the list is cheap enough yet, let me know I can find a cheaper gift too! Remember that I would rather have you ask about anything that would make you more likely to purchase a commission than assume that it won't work :)
Also note: I've realized how amazingly fun it is to pick out gifts for all the people I know and love so I've found a lot of things I want (which I made a second, hidden list to start storing these things in). Update: I would love some shortie commissions 5,000 words or less because I hit a groove with a shorter one the other day. Please consider it. National Pickle Day is an Excuse for Free Words!

On November 14th, and the fourteenth alone, in honor of the pickle if you contact me fora commission you will receive an additional 2,500 words free added to whatever amount you purchase! You must purchase a commission to get this, but you can purchase as little as 1,000 words to use the freebie add-on.
However, the commission does not have to be finalized on the 14th. There will be a form (linked with this event) to fill out outlining your thoughts for the commission and that is the piece that must be done on the fourteenth to receive the discount, then I'll contact you and even if you don't talk to me about it and finalize the commission until the fifteenth that doesn't matter as long as that form was done on the fourteenth. Make sense? If you get that form done on the right day you will unlock those free words- a $25 value! For Free!
In addition, since National Pickle day falls within World Kindness week, I'm going to give you an opportunity to do your good deed for the week by helping me buy goods for the adopt a soldier program, which sends letters and care packages, by adding, if you wish to, a word count bump/payment that will be used to purchase a care package good.
