The end of an era...

At first wasn't sure I'd want to move / was kinda hoping in the meantime I'd get lucky and name changes would become a thing, but as they are not, I'm moving shop over to SEPIAFLUX like I've done for every other platform.

I wish I could easily move over all of my old submissions, but rest assured that I will not make them unavailable here at least.

Certainly grateful for the numbers I've been able to grow here, but excited and happy to be starting over in a sense.

It's a terrible sin that only after someone's passing is when the outpour of love and appreciation comes, so that they'll never see it.

I hope that from this we'll be reminded to show that love and appreciation more freely and more often, because you can never know what's around the corner or when your last post could be. It's a hard fact of life to sit with, but it can be used as a tool for loving each other better with some courage.

I never interacted with him personally... but had been current on his posts on bluesky and the news really shocked and sickened me in a deep way... Feels so bad... and I feel just awful for what he went through that we only saw a fraction of. My heart is broken for his friends and family. Watching him post about struggling with the US healthcare system and be forced to go through the immense stress those absolutely absurd and evil bills puts on a person, instead of being able to focus on getting well will continue to haunt me. I'm just so sorry you had to suffer like that Neer, I wish it could've happened better for you, and I just hope you knew how much everybody here appreciates you for all you've done for the fandom.

Requesting changes or additions as you are watching me stream your piece may be missed or ignored -
I will generally not accept requests for edits as I am working on your piece live, unless it is a mistake on my part (minimal detail corrections; piercings, markings, etc). Even if WIP shots are paid for, any edit requests are only guaranteed to be honored after the WIP stage is ready to send (the rough sketch, or colors+lines completed). It is to be understood that requesting changes while I am working is disruptive to my process, and is not the purpose of me streaming my work.
This includes Patreon Stream commissions, as I do not offer WIP shots for these.


I'm ok with a bit more leeway for FCF Patreon slots. But yeah!
Most of my TOS just reinforces the importance of your commission form being thorough enough for me to not make mistakes. This is just one more! Being prepared and ready to go for working on a piece allows me to be more efficient, and time = money with commissions so I hope you'll all understand and not take offense.

This is something I've struggled to express my thoughts on for many many years as I have grown as a person and an artist.
It's really liberating to be able to put it all into words that I wholeheartedly stand behind. Just thought I would let you all know here that I've made some changes to how my Patreon operates, as well as a change to how my different commission types are categorized.
Bye bye to Bronze, Silver and Gold :( but this new system should simplify everything a lot more for us.

Hey hey everyone, I wanted to make a lil journal talking about etiquette when it comes to getting commissions, and also outlining a bit on why I reject forms.

I have explicitly added to my #
"This includes complaining about not getting a commission slot" to the Common Strike Offenses to Avoid section, under "Rudeness or generally being unpleasant / disrespectful"

I put a significant amount of time and thought into my commissions slot system, keep my prices lower than most artists with similar style/"quality" when I feel I could comfortably double them honestly, but I don't for several reasons, one being that I like being more accessible to more people, and there's just no need for me to have to deal with these types of comments & guilting every time I open for commissions. At all. It's very annoying and discouraging.

Taking commissions publicly is stressful enough as it is for me, it's a lot to read through with the commission forms to pick some, takes me full days to just get ready to actually start working on the queue after all of the sifting through forms, choosing who to disappoint, and doing up invoices is done. I don't need unconstructive criticism/complaining ontop of this.

Just wanting respect, that's all. Vent to a friend if you need to, if you're disappointed.

I don't mind criticism on how my system works or anything else, but just simply complaining to me that I didn't pick you is extremely draining; putting that pressure on me makes me want to not work with you anymore at all, and I'm going to start doing exactly that with it built into my T.O.S. now.

After writing this I'm also realizing I should outline clear reasons why I might not choose a commission form, so I will be writing this here first and then adding it to my website's FAQ shortly for easy future referencing:


Why might you reject a commission form?
Most of the time, it's simply because someone else's form interested me more, in a varying degree. See the section above for more of an explanation! (FAQ)

But here is some explanation for two major things that may turn me away from choosing your commission form:

- Lengthy detailed description of posing.
I will very rarely choose a form that includes a wall of text, not necessarily because I don't like what's being described, but simply because it's a lot more time consuming to go through a list of pose specifics when I'm sketching to get every detail described right, rather than having more freedom to construct the scene as I can envision it.
I've been doing furry commissions for nearly 10 years; I promise trusting me more with the posing will not leave you disappointed!
If you can draw me a doodle (it can be stick figures) of the scene you're envisioning, this helps me immensely! Especially if you can offer this instead of a wall of text, you're golden.

There's nothing wrong with having a clear vision for your piece at all! But please, try to do some of the work for me for a better chance of me being on board with your idea, by either making a doodle, or making a collage of other art pieces you like that have similar posing or elements you like.

A bunch of separate links for references isn't great; if you don't want to make a collage, you can also have all of the images in an album at least, so I can look at all of the images via one link, i.e. imgur or sta.sh album

- I have worked with you before, and know that you are very particular/strict about details.
I may have accepted a piece of yours to do in the past, and throughout the process, had to do a lot of revisions to your piece.
If you're choosing me to do your commission idea, I assume it's because you enjoy all aspects of my work; how I draw species, how I pose characters, draw expressions, construct scenes, color, etc.
So, to me, asking for an unusually high amount of revisions along the way comes off as that you're trying to achieve something that does not fit my style of work after all.
I am certainly used to doing revisions of course, and have no problem with it, but there becomes a point when the relationship with the commissioner and the attitude towards the project changes that I dislike dealing with.
In my experience, this usually seems to mean that the commissioner sees artists less as someone who they enjoy the work of and want to work *with*, and more like an art machine, someone they commissioned simply because they could get a slot.
People who commission artists like this simply aren't a good fit for me, as I see my work as an extension of myself that I respect and enjoy, and not as a product for profit. It's just not me!

- I have worked on similar ideas in my previous opening.
I know this sucks because seeing pieces I've recently posted makes people want something similar for themselves, however unfortunately if I have just done pieces that are similar to what you would like, I will probably choose something else to do that's different.

Other than that, more arbitrary things like simply "not liking" a character's design or thinking a concept is "boring" really matter a lot less, I like drawing a wide range of different characters from humans to ferals! So there's nothing of note with that, aside from seeing what I most enjoy drawing like outlined above to see what I might choose before something else. (FAQ)

I've contacted everybody whose forms I've chosen, and am going to draw the numbers for the raffled slots on Monday at the start of my stream, at 2PM AST!

Yes! I'm making Dinovember a regular annual thing!! with nothing to throw a wrench in it this time like there was last year- *knock on wood*

• What is a "New Commissioner"?

Q: Can I submit more than one form for your consideration?
A: Yes.
Submit as many as you'd like in whatever tiers you would like, or specify in your form in the "Details of Commission" section that you would be ok with getting the idea completed in another tier if I happen to prefer to do it in another, to potentially fit it in better with the rest of my queue.

Q: Are you interested in drawing anything in particular this opening?
A: No, probably not.

Good luck everyone!

I'm going to be taking a bit of a break before I fill slots again. My birthday is coming up on the 27th and I'd like to have a bit of a break after that for when my partner is finished with his work for the season, which is the end of May.

Will be filling Flat Color Friday slots for June through Patreon, but will not be posting the opening journal to fill regular slots for other commissions for another week at least.
The next time you see a journal from me here will be my opening journal - possibly around the end of the month. But I don't want to make any plans for dates just yet... gonna see how I feel after my queue is all finished and I've had a few days to de-art!

Just feeling burnt out. Having all of the gold tier commissions pile up at the end of my queue was a mistake... I'll be limiting the Full Render tier to 1 per opening going forward.
Don't get me wrong! I'm flattered to have so much interest in my most expensive tier, and it has been nice getting in the rendering practice. Very happy with how much progress I've made with how I render more detailed pieces. Doing these comms I've picked up some new techniques and a more refined perspective on how I like to render environments and it's been good! Lots of trial and error that there can be no replacement for.
I like to be working on something different all the time though (and like to fill slots as often as I can to give more people a shot at art from me) so it gets a little stifling having to put so many hours into the same pieces every stream day. But, that's totally my fault!

There's lots of personal art I've wanted to do too, been really wanting to try some more design work, namely trying out some Goopawb designs based on gemstones/minerals, real excited about that, just have had no time to do it.

So I hope I'll find the motivation to try those out and that some of you will enjoy those whenever they come to fruition! :)

I'm finally recovering and feeling like a person again after testing positive Sunday morning... I've had it in my mind to try to draw many times (did manage a few hours on your comm Thae!! ;;) but have been too in pain, miserable and exhausted to even stand up... It's been real brutal. I neeeeever want this again.

I've never been sick for such an unrelenting duration, it's been unlike anything else... I think my IIH definitely exacerbated some symptoms too... advil + tylenol have really saved my sanity in this


But I've got my cognitive abilities back online after a solid 3 days of feeling like I was basically a zombie lol so I'll be able to resume work on commissions which I'm looking forward to, it is no fun not being able to accomplish anything at all for days x_x

I've been through this a good handful of times receiving messages asking me why I've blocked people, so why not just put it out there publicly so we're all on the same page!

As it says on my profile:

I don't block people on my art twitter, but since I only fill commission slots through FA, if someone can't contact me through FA then they're SOL on commissioning me, thus I block a lot of people here for that reason.

Blanket statements do make things a lot easier and a lot more stress free for me, which is how I'm trying to have my life be honestly lol. I know it casts a net over ""good apples"" too, but I just kinda don't care anymore. If you're lumping yourself together with anybody like the above describes that's on you, not me. I'm perfectly secure in my beliefs and trust my gut when it comes to judging people. It makes my life interacting with the internet a lot smoother and easier by streamlining it this way.

Would I prefer to have a conversation with every single person? I mean in an idealistic world sure, but that also opens the door for people being manipulative and lying for the sake of being able to interact with me and get art from me too. So... it's just not gonna happen.

I have no desire, energy, or time to argue with people in the fandom over what I find morally acceptable. In personal relationships where it actually matters sure I would have conversations and try to learn from each other, but not on a bigger scale like this. It just doesn't work, and especially not for myself who has a hard time interacting with people in general to begin with, as I'm autistic and it stresses me out quickly.

You can disagree with this approach all you'd like, go somewhere else! The internet's huge. I just gotta respect me and my comfort first over strangers' feelings who want to perpetuate shit I can't stomach.

Hey! Just wanted to post a journal to let you all know directly about some minor changes I've made recently;

- My 25% NSFW content fee will now be rounded down to the nearest 10, or if it's under 10 then the nearest dollar.
Example: the 25% fee calculated from your commission price total comes to 57.00, you will only pay 50.00 for NSFW content.


- Added a clear "Favorite Subject Matters" section to my TOS to pair with the opposite "Skill Issues" list I offer! I get questions surrounding this a lot so have decided to make a difinitive list directly for my TOS.

- Added "short stack" body type to my Will Not Draw list
Reason being, for me it borders into the "bimbo" kink territory which I have no interest in drawing, and also overly fetishizes small bodies which I also don't want to be drawing.
To be clear short/small characters that are obviously mature (like kobolds, vulperas) are okay most times, but I make decisions on "small" characters on a case by case basis. I am very careful with this and anything that makes me personally uncomfortable I won't be drawing. So yeah, that's that!
