โข What is a "New Commissioner"?
Q: Can I submit more than one form for your consideration?
A: Yes.
Submit as many as you'd like in whatever tiers you would like, or specify in your form in the "Details of Commission" section that you would be ok with getting the idea completed in another tier if I happen to prefer to do it in another, to potentially fit it in better with the rest of my queue.
Q: Are you interested in drawing anything in particular this opening?
A: No, probably not.

If I am really wanting to draw something in particular, there would be a special discount announced at the top of the journal.
Q: Can I submit a form entry, or enter the Slot Raffle, if I received a commission from you in your last opening?
A: Yes.
However, I will not personally select a form entry for somebody who got a slot in my previous opening, either through my own pick or if it was a Raffled Slot.
If you did get a commission in the previous opening, and your number is pulled in the Slot Raffle, I will still give you the slot though!
2 slots for each tier - 6 slots in total - are filled through my personal selection of form entries I have the most interest in doing.
One slot in each tier goes to a New Commissioner, and one to a Repeat Commissioner.
4 Raffled Slots are filled randomly through randomly generated numbers.
- You should submit a form entry as well as enter the raffle for a shot at getting picked randomly if I don't end up personally selecting your commission idea!
- Winners of the Raffled Slots may choose any commission tier they would like.

General | Posted 3 years agoJust wanted to put it out there publicly that I only post resized files myself to my own galleries, and would appreciate if commissioners would respect that and do the same.
Even now as I send a resized file to everyone along with their full res, and even further, have explicitly explained it's for reuploading sometimes, people still upload the full res anyway.
I don't like to explicitly say this every time I send over dropbox links or files to be "rude" and cause problems, because some do have an issue with "paywalling" content so I just don't want the potential for drama
But I do use exclusive full res uploads as a selling point for my Patreon, so by reuploading the full resolutions everywhere it kind of negates that exclusivity
I have zero issue with reuploading my stuff. I send over a resized file for this purpose, and also to keep the image in clear quality no matter where it's uploaded to, as sometimes when uploading the large resolution image to some sites, it'll be compressed poorly by the website and look a whole lot worse resized that way.
It doesn't upset me *that* much as most people will still see my uploads primarily over commissioners' anyway, but... it's still annoying, mainly because it can affect my Patreon.
I don't paywall much. Full resolutions and alt versions are the one easy thing I feel like I can give to Patrons and it's not going to last if this keeps up.
I guess my TOS needs an update to include this, finally.

General | Posted 3 years agoIf you didn't get an invoice, it means I had to skip your idea for the sake of doing Patrons' first, or also in favor of ideas that involve less detail/time as I'd like to do as many as possible.
I've taken 4 single character fullbodies, 1 two character fullbody, and 3 icons/busts. Will be a busy day tomorrow but I hope to get it all done!

General | Posted 3 years agoI accidentally deleted the journal I made about this (ugh) but it's still happening! haha.
TL;DR if you didn't catch the old journal, I've really enjoyed streaming this past month and am going to continue streaming twice a week (or more? dunno yet) for doing regular slots.
I'll be filling slots the same as I have been, just more of them, and now with โจstreamingโจ where Patrons' commissions will always be worked on first in line if they get a regular slot, and you can give me feedback in real time if you're able to attend the stream. Also I'll be doing TWO Flat Color Friday commissions per friday now! :D
And no, commissioners do not have to be in stream. Payment will still be taken upfront like usual so we'll be good to go, if you can't make it that's fine. You'll still be able to pay for WIP's if you'd like them and prefer more control over the final product.

General | Posted 3 years agoSo now that I've got all of my tests over and done with for my recent health condition discovery of IIH (which included a spinal tap, that was an awful experience), I don't have a whole lot left that'll eat up my energy now. I hope. I don't want to jinx it. lol. it's been a hectic fucking month...
I hate that it interfered with Dinovember and sincerely apologize for that but I really had to take care of myself this past month. It was a lot on my mental health, but I'm staying really strong and doing well.
Anyways! With that being said and now that I'm more prepared to start doing more art for real this time, I'm getting geared up for December art. I wanted to let you all know that as fun of a challenge as it was to do daily art for my calendars... I think it's time to lay them to rest.
It was a big recipe for burnout, and I really want to avoid that going forward so this art thing is more sustainable and healthy for me. I put more effort into refining my art than I did back when I started the calendar slot format, and it's just too much to keep up with. I'm sorry, I know a lot of people look forward to it every year. But I am still definitely going to have themed months, so don't worry about that! I love doing themed months, it keeps things interesting and fun!
So here's what I'm thinking is going to work the best! Let me know what you think.
I want to stream twice a week at the minimum, maybe more, and do 1-3 pieces a day for special holiday/winter themed streams! I want to keep it flexible.
I am thinking a raffle will work best to fill slots so winners don't have to watch their stream if they're unable to.
I'll get everybody to comment on a promo submission, assign numbers, and draw numbers to fill slots.
I will draw numbers the day before I am going to stream to give the winners time to send their payment via an invoice. I'm thinking 3 numbers will be drawn for a stream, though if I don't get to do all 3 (especially in the case of a piece being a two character piece), the one I don't get to will carry over to the next stream.
Maybe can have a small 10% discount from picking from a list of themes so it's more on theme for the month? And once a theme is completed, the discount will be used up for that theme? That sounds fun eh? :D
Gonna really flesh it all out tomorrow when I'm making up my promo and post, but wanted to get some input before then! I'm excited to do some themed art and to stream

Facing some health issues that involves my eyes and it's been pretty scary and stressful so I'm just getting through it for now and can't mentally focus well to work. Just keeping myself occupied and distracted til I see a specialist Monday after seeing my eye dr last Tuesday. I don't know the cause yet and that's what's scary. It could be a lot of different things and it's very daunting.
We'll see how it goes, if it turns out this will really affect my ability to do art (for now it does not even with my affected vision) then I'll make an update post here to let you all know, but if not, I'm going to be posting about it on my personal twitter (@ teelatauntaun) where I usually do my venting, so if you're interested in any updates you can look there if you want.

It's given me an incredible amount of clarity and I'm really grateful I was in the position to take the break. My confidence has grown so so much being able to have the opportunity to start a brand new name for myself; over the past month I've poured myself into cosplay/puppet making work mostly, and experimenting with a new personal brand separate from furry that's gone very well for me so far with a bit of luck from the tiktok algorithm! I got a taste of exactly what I felt like I'd been missing out on for years; being connected to my work in a personal way and in a way that I can connect with people over. It's been really exciting!
It's been a ton of fun creating video content for my tiktok; I wish I had it years ago when I was creating my older cosplays and fursuits! That app is nuts for its potential for virality, my god! I bought myself a tripod with a light to help me make WIP content and everything! It's a brand new avenue for me to share my love for crafting that's been so exciting but intimidating. I love learning to do new things and learning how to take and edit video content has been so neat. I'm really proud of what I've done with it so far and that's really invigorated me creativity wise.
I was just as busy during the past month, so it wasn't as much of a relaxing "break" haha. Just busy in new ways. Honestly it's been pretty nuts to keep up with all the work I put into my cosplay and handling new attention! It was a lot to process and I was terrified at first because I don't handle change well, but it's been so refreshing to get back into something I used to love so much that I gave up for years and be lucky enough that people love it so much.
We just went to my province's city's con this past weekend and seeing peoples' excitement over my latest project was addictive, I just LOVE making people so happy like that and inspiring people. I had so much fun explaining how my puppet worked and making people laugh with him! It was the best time I've ever had at a con for sure. My anxiety has improved leaps and bounds overall this year but now that I feel like I have something to be proud of and connect with people over with my new name, I was able to enjoy myself SO much more at the con than I ever have before because it's helped me so much.
I love creating physical works of art in the form of costumes and puppets and it's something I definitely want to keep pursuing. I'm going to be attempting my first fursuit body next year for Teela, and am excited to see how it goes! My favorite thing is creating puppets and cosplay to go with puppets, but I do think doing fursuits could be a great way to marry all of my interests together too - so we'll see how I like it! I like puppets so much because I'm able to hand sew a lot... I'm not a huge fan of machine sewing so making Teela a bodysuit should help me get more acquainted with using mine :)

All that being said, now that I'm back here, I think I'll enjoy being able to sit and work on art some days, and other days work on fursuit, cosplay or puppet stuff. That's the plan! I do want to make an income from my new name as well, I already am through selling the pattern for my puppet I've made, but want to try all kinds of things to see what I'm best at. Sky's the limit! This means that my time will be more split though, so you may notice a bit less furry art but it shouldn't be too noticeable.
I have a better PC now as I inherited my partner's old one, and even though I tend to get intimidated out of streaming whenever I think I want to... I want to work on that and try possibly scheduling streams for when I'm working on furry art! Or at least schedule streams where I'll take slots to do on stream. Never done that before and I think it'll be fun :D
As I'm getting back into doing commissions I will take commissions in small quantities and see how it goes; maybe one by one. I've wanted to try opening for a specific type of commission (i.e. Gold tier 2x character) like I've seen others do, so I think I will want to try this and choose my favorite idea to do out of some submissions. I do enjoy doing raffled slots too as it's most fair for everybody, so I will not be stopping those, don't worry! :) This is just my plan for getting back into the swing of it and doing some stuff I enjoy to get back into this.
One bigger change you will notice is that I'm hoping to skew my furry work a bit away from being 99% NSFW work.
I want to focus more on things I personally enjoy doing, such as richer environments, generally cute or thematic SFW concepts, and taur characters too (sfw and nsfw), which is something I haven't focused much on before but really enjoy!
I'll be working towards this by charging extra for NSFW content instead of discounting SFW content. I'm thinking +30% the price of a commission for a NSFW charge will work well for me.
I became so desensitized to NSFW content and I haven't enjoyed that for myself, so it's not something I want to do. There's so much more to the fandom than pumping out NSFW art all the time; it cheapens the allure significantly IMO and I don't want that for my work. I want to put out work of more substance and soul if I can but of course there's nothing with some spicy art sprinkled in there! I just want it to be more special.
To put out work that makes it easier to feel like I can relate with people over, which is important!, this is what I need to do. It'll be more sustainable for my mental health and an artist with good mental health means their best work is being put out!!
I don't think it's healthy to be exposed to the most explicit and hardcore stuff you could ever think of all the time, it certainly has not been for me and that's why I needed a break in the first place, so I think I can make a healthier relationship to the fandom for myself if I fix this.

To put out work that makes it easier to feel like I can relate with people over, which is important!, this is what I need to do. It'll be more sustainable for my mental health and an artist with good mental health means their best work is being put out!!
I don't think it's healthy to be exposed to the most explicit and hardcore stuff you could ever think of all the time, it certainly has not been for me and that's why I needed a break in the first place, so I think I can make a healthier relationship to the fandom for myself if I fix this.

General | Posted 3 years agoWanted to get this out before October starts, as I'm planning on taking a break for the entirety of October from commission work.
As grateful as I am for the steady stream of commission work I can drown myself in, I'm feeling just that; drowned. It's never hit me like it has this past month and I've decided to figure out how I can proceed in the future with all of this. I need a break to clear my mind and re-evaluate.
I've suppressed a lot over the years while doing full time art for the sake of securing a large as possible audience and income of course; drawing a ton of content I am not connected to at all which is just ultimately not a good feeling that I don't know if I want to ignore anymore. It's difficult seeing other artists thrive making art that they love and put themselves into knowing I rarely feel that sense of accomplishment, and I just don't think there's any reason why I can't do that myself and also make a decent income too instead of feeling like I have to be open to anything for a better security of commissioner numbers.
It sucks, and is difficult, because as you all probably know there really is no end to how much furry art I could draw. There will always, always, always, be more people who want more furry art. People are never going to stop being horny, lol. And I've honed most of my skills into making horny art. It's very tempting to do what I've done to myself and essentially become an impersonal furry art machine as it can be so lucrative. Being drawn to the reliabe stream of commissioners I can get while doing a wide range of content while also having intense issues with being a roll-over people pleasing type person, I've really just got lost in the furry sauce here, and don't really think I like it anymore as it's become a detriment.
I've been feeling pretty empty for longer than I'd want to admit because of this for no one's fault but my own. And it makes me feel bad, because I would assume that most people would assume I enjoy doing a commission idea for them or at least like the content or etc. when... I don't, and instead completely detach myself from work and just create a product. I am faced with this any time anyone asks me for input in a commission idea or asks if I have a preference in something. I just can't answer because I've more or less turned myself into an art machine that doesn't connect with the product, doesn't connect with commissioners.
There are pieces here and there that I've had fun doing of course, and when commissioners are friendly, passionate, and polite, it makes my job really fun sometimes. I've just got the scales tipped way too far into money's favor right now above my mental health and just general life enjoyment, and I don't feel the need to do that anymore, especially since I've grown my art abilities to a point I'm happy with. I feel like I'm also luckily in a financially secure place in life to try and make a shift, hopefully to something better and more meaningful for me.
Art used to be one of the biggest sources of joy in my life and watching that slowly dissolve away over the years has not been fun. I know a lot of artists relate to this but I feel like those who are lucky enough to build an audience with art that they love are able to escape that better at least. I dunno. Hence the break to hopefully figure it out and learn things about myself as a person separated from my work.
I've no idea what I can do with all of this uncertainty, which is why I want to take a long time to think about it and draw for solely myself to see what I gravitate towards. I apologize in advance for this too, as I know deviating from a norm is really more or less creator suicide and I know a lot of people will wish I kept myself in art machine mode to get commissions from me, but I don't want to feel like this anymore.

I've been struggling with pretty bad mental health lately and now dealing with some insomnia as well, and just wanted to let you all know that. I've been trying to fight it off for the past month but not being able to sleep is a telltale sign I need to be taking it easier and take better care of myself. The internet exacerbates my bad mental health especially with the whirlwind of news on current events and it's just been extremely hard on me.
I'm getting by, and have been doing bits of art when I find the energy, but I can't create my usual quality of art when I'm only just able to get through the days.
I'm so sorry for the waits. I will be in a better place soon. I'm taking care of myself as best as I can manage and have support. Just need some extra understanding. I'll post an update when I'm doing better.

General | Posted 4 years agoThanks so much for the feedback on my last post. I hear you guys loud & clear :) I will not be walling off higher tier commissions to Patrons.
However, I am changing things up a bit. Here's a quick rundown of the changes I've been brewing!
โญ๏ธ I am going to return to dividing up my slots by tiers again like I used to do;
I will be filling 4 Bronze tier slots, and 1 slot for either Silver or Gold per opening. They all have separate forms now too!
โญ๏ธ Diamond tier and comic commissions are no longer available.
I might be willing to work on comics still if it's an idea that personally interests me :) but I am not longer publicly offering them as an option.
โญ๏ธ W.I.P. shots for Bronze and Silver tier are now an extra cost & totally optional;
Bronze tier Flat Color commissions used to be strictly "wing-it" style only but now you're able to receive a W.I.P. to review if you want one! Though since it slows down my process I will be charging for the service.
A rough sketch to review will be a $10 charge.
Silver tier commissions have the option to receive either 1 or 2 W.I.P.'s! One rough sketch W.I.P. will be $10, and if you'd like the lines+flat color W.I.P. as well it will be another $5 for a total of $15 for 2 W.I.P.'s. These are sent in full res, so are some nice bonuses to receive if it interests you :)
Forgoing all W.I.P.'s and leaving your commission to be done in "wing-it" style will thus be cheaper and have a quicker turnaround time as well.
These are add-ons included in the individual forms for these tiers, so are easy to request.
W.I.P. shots for Gold tier commissions are at no extra cost and are included in the higher price of the Gold tier options.

I miss having a cheap option for commissions. So, I decided to start offering a totally flat sketch option!
They will be just like what you see in my Sketch Pages, minus any shading.
Also including the option to receive a transparent .PSD file to color yourself or have colored by someone else, for a $5 charge!
These start at just $35 :)

Q: Can I submit more than one form for your consideration?
A: Yes.
Submit as many as you'd like in whatever tiers you would like, or specify in your form in the "Details of Commission" section that you would be ok with getting the idea completed in another tier if I happen to prefer to do it in another, to potentially fit it in better with the rest of my queue.
Q: Are you interested in drawing anything in particular this opening?
A: No, probably not.

If I am really wanting to draw something in particular, there would be a special discount announced at the top of the journal.
Q: Can I submit a form entry, or enter the Slot Raffle, if I received a commission from you in your last opening?
A: Yes.
However, I will not personally select a form entry for somebody who got a slot in my previous opening, either through my own pick or if it was a Raffled Slot.
If you did get a commission in the previous opening, and your number is pulled in the Slot Raffle, I will still give you the slot though!
2 slots for each tier - 6 slots in total - are filled through my personal selection of form entries I have the most interest in doing.

General | Posted 4 years agoOKAYyyy so I caved and have chosen two of each slot type this time instead of just one because it was too hard to choose one.
And even then, was very stressful choosing just two. I had a lot of ideas I wanted to do this time. :(
I try to not stress out too much but inevitably I always end up getting super stressed choosing the commission ideas that are most interesting to me and letting others down.
idk, just wanted people to know that that pressure does affect me and I always feel bad letting down people who want art from me because I appreciate it so much, and feel like by turning down people who want my work, that they will think their interest is not appreciated, since I don't have any further contact with them and just delete the submissions. I'm too sensitive maybe...
