After months of waiting for this squeaky stuff to get anywhere suddenly it all comes at once: My PP Wolf, the box of Barge and theoretically soon the current ScaleworX commission arrive. Well, at least I got the Wolf from customs now after a lot of hassle, I'm glad that's over.

The courier is like "we'll be there some time in this 5 hour window" and you better hope you're not busy when they arrive. This stuff is completely stupid, how are you supposed to take a delivery during the week when you've got a job?

Well, at least today they didn't wait until the last 5 minutes of the delivery window...

So basically you gotta do everything yourself and then pay a license fee? Do people really fall for that?

Gah, I'm back but the temperatures here are crazy, I'm totally drained by the heat. So many things I wanted to do after I get back, now I just want to keep my heat output down.

Well, at least Barge is still happy.

Won't respond for about two weeks.

With all the anticipation and tension of getting Barge out of the way I'm feeling like a bunch of suppressed tiredness is catching up with me, I feel like I need some rest now.

Barge is now in Hong Kong.

Sigh, waiting sucks. I keep thinking that I should do something productive but I've already kicked off enough things and all I can do about them is wait. Wait wait wait. Argh. Or maybe that's the Sunday evening doldrums (which is like the prelude to Monday and thus the worst time of the week) just making me restless.

So, what's cooking:
- Barge, of course. Jason from Jet told me that they'd ship him last Monday, I still haven't heard anything about shipping so I have no idea how long this'll take, I figure they forgot to add the correct number of chambers to the prototype and are building it again. And then comes the second stage where the real work for us starts with trying to gather orders and such...
- I've commissioned  SqueakLatex to make a suit out of Easy. Last I heard they were having trouble with their contacts towards China. And of course no response to questions about my queue status with them but I think that's just how they are, generally rather difficult to talk to.
- I've also commissioned  ScaleworxCreations to make a simple toy of this plant thingy that I've started calling Buddy (apologies if the pun makes you cringe). Takumori said it's on track for mid-June, I think that includes both the queue and production.
- Inflatable World have sent the angel dragoness renders to their factory in China. I think their next run of toys won't be until late this year but it's still good to hear that this popular design made the cut.
- I believe Plunderbird submitted his modified version of Raph to IW and got a positive response for the next run.
- The anthro skunk and the red fox were designed for people who planned to take them to IW but I don't think they actually went ahead with it.

So that's a lot of kettles that aren't boiling yet. I can't do anything to speed them along. So I sit here and come up with designs that just make the wait feel worse... And all these orders are already adding up to over 3000 USD. Wow, this is one expensive hobby. On the other hand being able to touch my designs was always one of my greatest wishes ever since I started out with this whole 3D stuff.

Yaaaaaay, I'm so happy that Barge is becoming a reality! And Jet will mail him to me on Monday, then I finally get to touch something I designed! Hope I can stay calm tomorrow at work!

Jets is now working to produce a blank test version of Barge. This is the first time one of my designs is turned into real vinyl. I hope vinyl works the way I think and the design works.

Many animes and people here have such awesome looking characters, all I can come up with is pretty boring designs. I wish I had the creativity for that.

Is there any way for a humanoid inflate not to make everybody go "oh it's a blow-up doll!"?

I don't know if there's anybody out there that combines the interest for the subject matter with the development ability required but I'd like to pass development responsibilities of Pop! over to someone else. I feel like I'm done with making meaningful contributions to the game and am ready to move on to something else.

Maybe the game's not even worth getting continued development... All the content is free for the taking so if you've got a better game idea and could use something from Pop! feel free to use it.
