Does any one know of an alternative to SAI?
Posted 12 years agoMy old license does not work on my new computer. I checked their website, and now it costs 50 USD for a singular license. That is an okay price, but I do not draw very often. I liked SAI because you can sort of trace your sketches more smoothly, where in Photoshop my lines would come out jagged. So, does anyone know of a free or cheap alternative that can do that?
I need a new computer...
Posted 12 years agoApparently my computer is way to ancient to handle materials in Second Life, even though it was able to before the update. This greatly annoys me. I am trying to find just a desktop computer box that would be able to handle the shiny new materials thing. My current computer is from 2009, so I do not think I can update it. So if any one has any suggestions for what the hell to buy, that would be great. The list of the only supported graphics cards are here: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/.....Q/ta-p/2051467 I probably cannot afford any thing too damn expensive, but I figure I would give it a try.
I can't think of a subject...
Posted 12 years agoGood News: I lost 21 pounds... only 10 of them were on purpose. Opps.
Bad News: I almost completely lost my drawing ability. I seriously can't draw furries/anthros anymore. I can only draw crappy heads and messed up cartoon creatures. I wasn't that great at drawing, but it still sucks that I can't draw now.
I was working on the mesh update of the basic dragon avatar but I am stuck on the wings. I managed to make a so-so wing model, but I could not make decent lower LODs for that model.

Temporary Avatar Vendor
Posted 15 years agohttp://slurl.com/secondlife/Liger%2.....land/34/226/23
Since the market place where I usually have my vendor is under reconstruction or something, I had to put up a temporary vendor on my home plot. This is my home plot, where I like to build and have some privacy doing so. I will be a tad grumpy if you fly up there to say "hello" or "do u wanna yiff? lol" and you face the wrath of Hans. Well I kid about the second part, but please do respect that.
I also have my avatars on XStreet: https://xstreetsl.com/modules.php?n.....erchantID=5655

Whut?

I hate the 80's
Posted 15 years agoSomethings from the 80's are so bad (the music from the Swifter commercials) that it warrants going back in time to start a nuclear war in the 70's, thus destroying the world before the 80's can occur. I'm personally thinking about writing a letter to the makers of Swifter about their irritating music choices because when those songs get in my head, the overwhelming feeling of needing to bang my head against my desk until my skull cracks opens comes to me.

yay (sort of)
Posted 16 years agoI got my first 4.0 ever in college. I can't believe that I actually got straight A's for once. I guess my total GPA isn't really counted because I transferred but I would have about a 3.36. I still need to aim for a 3.5 or better. I'll have to work a little harder next semester because I have slightly harder courses, but I don't know if the course load will be any harder than what I had with Biology/Pre-Med.
I also need to be more productive with Second Life. I need to attempt more statues or make a decent avatar. My problem with avatars is that I don't have any scripts and I can't script. I know I've edited some free scripts before. I still have an ancient wing script that uses a totally alpha texture when the person is flying or not, but it doesn't have an option to manually open or close the wings. I guess I might be able to figure that out in a command, but I don't know if I could tink around with the script to work with a small HUD. I also might be able to figure out a way to change textures for the eyeballs from scripts in the script library, but I then again have a problem with making a HUD. For blinking, I just tinkered with a wagging tail script to make the eyelids rotate randomly. I might want to try finding a script or messing with scripts to see if I can make avatars blink by changing the sculpty texture. As for a talking jaw, I don't know if I should ask that dude that made the original script to buy the full perm verison or what. I don't think I could easily piece together a typing over rider with a rotation script to make a simple one. I really don't care for little animations that come with typing, but I think it might be useful to have a command that closes and opens the mouth.

Posted 17 years agoOnce I'm done with this semester from hell, I'm thinking about working on avatars again. (Organic Chemistry, Physics and Microbiology... yay...)
I might redo my old dragon avatars that I sell. I might discontinue the wolf avatar and the German Shepherd because they're already good enough wolf avatars out there. I might keep the fire wolf avatar though.
I also want to work on drawing again. I don't consider myself an artist, but it would be nice if I could draw decently. I wish I could find better references for human anatomy.
