Welp, another year, and another day that seems much the same, beyond everything saying hi to me. Wasn't much of a year, just work and sleep and the occasional intermission in there... But for all that, it feels more successful than some have recently.

Okay, it's 2 AM, I'm a little tired and tipsy, and I've been having an argument with some people concerning copyright law.

On my end, I'm saying that the copyright lies with the artist by default, and since freelance work is technically contacted work, rather than employment, it continues to do so unless the contract specifically states a transfer of copyright.

On their end, they're saying that the copyright lies with the commissioner by default, because it's their idea/character.

Anyone who gets money for this stuff wish to clarify?

Anyways, I'm looking to get a fairly detailed ref sheet of this here gryphbird of mine, both anthro and feral, probably something on the order or 4-5 views + lots of details. (Views would be feral side / anthro front / back / clothed / maybe clothed back, similar to the one I have posted for my dragon).

Would greatly, greatly love someone who's got some experience with steampunk concepts to help me flesh some of the ideas that are bouncing around in my head out.

Goddamnit, a year after playin that game, this song still hits me so hard.

I'm sure what I'm about to say here is going to come as no surprise to some of you, but bear with me here. :)

Anyways. I've been toying on and off with this, but I think that it's finally time to retire Pitchy as an... active character, so to speak. He's been around in some way, shape or form for almost five years now - I know, not a huge length of time in terms of this fandom, but to put it in perspective, that's almost a quarter of my life!

And in that time... Well, lets just say I sometimes have a hard time differentiating reality from fantasy, heh. At some point that pesky little dragon became less of a character and more a reflection, an extension of myself. And, as any person, I had my ups and downs over that period. With those ups and downs came a lot of baggage that weighs me down to this day: broken promises, unfulfilled vows, quite a few regrets.

I suppose, anymore, I just feel like I want a clean start, as impossible as that may be. And with so much of that history attached to this dragon, still a part of me even if a character, well... Sometimes it's not so easy to let go of the past, even as you know that that's what you have to do.

By retiring him... As symbolic as it way be, I feel that it will help with the letting go.

That's not to say ya'll won't see him around occasionally, just more on special occasions. Instead, as the lot of you may have guessed, it'll be this gryph I've been tossing up here taking the fore. An actual new start? Maybe, maybe not. But one can hope, eh?

If any of ya'll have heard about Star Citizen (you know, the big crowd-funded Freelancer style game that even then won't be out for a couple years) and never decided to back it, right now is literally the time. It's 55 minutes until the pledge package prices go up, and you lose hull insurance and veteran backer rewards. I can even get cheaper packages for ya'll (since I'm an original campaign backer and get the -really- cheap prices :D) and gift em, and all ya'll gotta do is go and get a $5 add-on after I gift it to get the veteran backer status.
