Sorry it has been so quiet on my end!

I mentioned a while back that I might be delayed because I was planning to move at the end of August. Orginally though, the plan was to move to a new apt. 20 minutes from my old place. I was anticipating only being cut off for up to 2 weeks.

INSTEAD, with only one days notice, last month I packed a bag of clothes and my computer and moved across the state! It sounds crazy, and it was, but it was something I needed to do for my family.
That same week my computer had a hdd failure, Thankfully I have lost no files!

This week I finally got back to the other side of the state to move all my stuff out and into storage. FEELS SO GOOD to have my family all together again and out of the scary apt with a mildew stinking holey ceiling :)

Sadly my computer, which had come back to life, officially kicked the bucket this last week. Again though, I lost absolutely none of my files, which is a great silver lining.

I'm feeling pretty cut off right now. I have a terrible time using this site on mobile since the updates. I can't seem to click on the top bar of info or post journals? The good news is that I do have a nice computer to borrow from time to time! I might even be able to stream again! I will ask permission and then maybe do a test run stream this week! We'll see!

I'm chugging away at owed art, though it's been a very interrupted process (making it frustrating because I hate leaving people waiting!) Hopefully within this next week I will have either updates or finished files sent out to everyone! I hate leaving people wondering, and it gives me a ton of anxiety when I am out of communication!

First off! I suddenly can't post journals at all from mobile so I am sorry that this heads up is coming a few days late! If you saw this on DA though, then you already have a heads up.

Earlier this week, I got up from drawing to go get a cup of tea and when I came back my computer screen was black and upon trying to reboot, my computer informed me that my harddrive didn't exist. I promptly panicked because I had done a very very stupid thing with all the craziness of suddenly moving... I hadn't backed up my files in several weeks. So if you are reading this, don't be dumb like me and go make a back up immediately!

I took my computer into a shop for data recovery and here is the great news, they were able to recover EVERYTHING! phew. All I lost was 5 minutes of work. I was nearly in tears when they called. Even better than that, I don't need to go buy a new computer! It's been all fixed up! SOOOO hooo boy crisis averted!

I'll be back to work on Sunday! Much better than my early prediction for several weeks more delay!

Just wanted to let you all know what was up! It's been a crazy month so far! If things don't settle down I will probably take a little break after I finish my queue! So I am going to mark commissions as closed for now until I am all caught up!

Apologies for the recent hiatus! I am like a week behind on correspondence and will be addressing as many emails and notes as I can asap. I'm so sorry if you have been waiting on a note or comment from me, please feel free to send me a little reminder if you think I have overlooked anything!


I ended up moving with very little notice (like... half a day) this week and am just now getting a chance to hook up internet and get back to work. Hopefully everything will settle down in the next few days. Because this has been a crazy and stressful week!


After that I will have to test out how well streaming is going to work out on my new connection. (I'm kinda out in the country and it seems to be dropping from time to time :S )

Sadly I am going to be unable to stream for the next few days! :S I'll still be working on commissions during this time though! :)

Ok! Sorry for all journals lately.
I am just a bit confused right now!

I picked up a new tablet today, and Intuos Pro Small. And something just isn't quite right in photoshop.

1st issue is that it keeps making occasional disconnected lines with no pressure sensitivity. Reinstalling the drivers and turning off the hand touch and it's gone from a disconnected line every other line to more like 1 in 20 is just wrong.

2nd issue is that it just doesn't seem to have the same sensitivity as my old (now broke T_T) intuos4. I can't even put my finger on what exactly is wrong. I was told to uncheck the box in the pen setting for it to auto adjust for programs that only support 1024 layers of sensitivity. And that seems to have made the issue better. But it really feels like i can't get the same results as before, the lines are thicker and more opaque it seems? And taper off more than usual.
(this is with the same brushes/settings I have used for years)

I'm not even sure this isn't in my head! It always takes a bit to get used to a new tablet, and I'm sure I can adjust, I just wanted to see if any knew if anything was up!

First off, THANK YOU! Thank you so much for the kindness, that has made it possible that I was able to replace my broken tablet so quickly! I will be picking up my new one tomorrow!

Second, I am hoping I could maybe pick peoples brains for a bit. How can I make the process of commissioning me easier? I'm wondering if my way of selling things is confusing.
Would it be easier if I made a google form?
Or am I too complicated already? Maybe I need to simplify things.

I feel like I really struggle through the whole process of getting myself set up with sending out all the emails, invoices, follow ups, and records just to get to the point where I've got all my ducks in a row and am ready to start the image.

So when I have to set up the details for a large group of images, I usually have to set aside a whole day for it. I might actually dread it! I just have a hard time when I have a full inbox, so I guess I'm in the "there's got to be a better way! " stage!

So what can I do to make it easier for you? :D

Tablet is broken. Any interest in me reopening Iron Artist portrait special from last year? I never finished the whole challenge (got through 40! not bad) and a few people have expressed their disappointment that I stopped taking them. As a reminder it is this special/style:

Otherwise, if you have been hoping for me to open a certain style of something, I would love to hear your input!

I need to raise at least $250 to replace my broken tablet, but I am kind of considering whether or not its time for me to upgrade! I'll see how things go. Can anyone recommend a tablet? (I had been using an intuos4 small and to be honest, It was less than 4 years old and I'm a little disappointed it didnt last longer.)

Heard a bang and a glass explosion, loud enough that I was sure someone had smashed the window out of a car. Loud enough that I looked out the window to see if there was an accident.

Didn't see anything, drew the blinds, and continued working.

Turns out it was someone shooting out the window of one of the apartments adjacent to mine. Same thing happened not even a month ago but on the other side of the complex.

If you recall, a year ago I was shook up because of a murder here.

I have no where else to vent to. But I am hating my living situation and want to get my family the hell out of here.

Work will be completed by 12:00AM EST on December 25th or you will receive a full refund and the finished work.
This only applies to the first copy of the finished image I send out, I will make every effort to have any edits/revisions completed by that time, but if I am emailed at 11:59 PM on the 24th, for example, with a bunch of edits, obviously that won't happen. :) This refund promise is void, if the commissioner is unreachable by note or provided email address. 7. If you need your commission by a specific date (before Dec 25) you MUST tell me in your initial inquiry. I do not give refunds for missing due dates that I was not informed of at the beginning.
8. Finished image is Digital art. It will be delivered digitally. It will be print quality, but all printing is the responsibility of the commissioner.

Just a heads up! If you have a copy of a file in my Deviantart st.ash and it's been there for many months, and you haven't yet saved a copy, please save that to your computer soon :)

Preparing to clear out older things from my stash, Also planning on purging older journals that don't have any relevant information, and maybe moving some older art to scraps or offsite. Just trying to keep all my accounts more up to date!

:D Things are starting to look up after what was a rough year, I want to go into the next year with a new outlook on how I do things, and a clear queue (And I'm so close to being there I can taste it!)

I will have to write a much better journal. I feel like I have a lot to say about my time away. I'm coming out of what I'll lightly call a rough patch.

I just have a ton of people to get in touch with and work I need to send out or finish and I would rather get right on that then spend the time on the journal right now. I feel terrible for the time I have been away leaving people in the dark.

I'm trying very hard to get myself back into the swing of things as I am getting back online here. I've been very out of sorts for the past two weeks and spent a lot of quiet time with my family. It's been a very hard couple of weeks for me.

If you are waiting to hear from me on something and haven't by the end of the night tonight please give me a nudge. Despite my notes/record keeping telling me exactly what I need to be doing right now I am feeling overwhelmed at the moment and I know there are things that have slipped my mind. If I have missed sending a file or an update. Seriously just nudge me! I'm always happy to give updates on things.

The other thing I really want to say is thank you guys so much for your kind words and condolences. It really meant a lot to me.

My Grandma passed away late last night.
It's a very sad day, however I am extremely grateful that I was able to go see her beforehand, while she was still able to speak just a little. And it sounds as though she was at peace.

As far as artwork goes, I apologize for this mass journal update.
Everything I said would be sent out by Christmas I am working diligently on getting completed. My schedule has definitely been shaken up though and I may have to go right up to the end of the day on Christmas Eve.

Everything else on my list for December may have to wait until the beginning of January.
I will do my best to get to notes and emails quickly, but there may be a bit of a longer wait than usual for me to reply.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and get to spend a lot of time with their family and friends.

Just wanted everyone to be aware that I made a change to the wording and pricing.

I had said that now it was $30 for 2 hours and then $10 an hour after that. And I had changed it because I was going over on every commission by 30 min to an hour.

I realized as I was updating my page that the more logical thing would be to just raise the minimum amount of time an hour than to raise the price for just the first two hours.

SO! This doesn't change anything in the prices I have quoted or what people have paid. Just clearing up the wording. And those booked for January that have already set all their details will have their number of hours booked increased by one!

I am back from my little end of the month vacation. It was much needed! I actually ended up with less down time than I thought because we fit in an extra side trip up north to see more family. So since I didn't get as much time as I had expected for drawing, I will be finishing the sketches/ink commissions over this week. :)

I don't usually post personal journals but I am having an extremely off day. Doors and windows are locked, curtains drawn. Because someone in my apartment complex was murdered today in an apparent robbery.

How many joking comments have I made in my livestream about living in this place. About how my neighbors just let random people in. Or Disable the doors so they can't lock so their friends can come in and out without being buzzed in.

My own neighbors make me nervous as hell, getting in fights in the hall in front of my door. Having the police show up.

Next time I am frustrated because my dog has a big scary bark that frightens strangers, Remind me that it's not such a bad thing!


I'll try and do some sort of fun art thing tonight to keep my mind occupied.

Last year I joined livejournal to check out the art exchange groups only to find that all the ones I was interested in were no longer active.

I'm still really interested in joining a group on here, livejournal, tumblr, DA, anywhere!

Does anyone know of or belong to one that is really active?
