Hey folks, thanks for reading.
This is my tumblr, under the new moniker, and right now I'm only posting older stuff to get it going. Sort of. Eventually I'll try to change this FA page up, too, to reflect the new thing I wanna do. Not that I have much time to draw :/

Hey y'all.
Posted 11 years agoI am making this update for the pals I got on here who might want to read it.
I don't have a working computer of my own right now, otherwise I would be uploading more artwork and sketches and recording music. I have not made any effort to fix this setback as I found it easier to get lost in other activities. Thus, I am doin this on my phone, and my phone kinda lame actually.
It would be nice to chat again with some of you, if I can get the motivation to make the effort.
Skype seemed to be pretty popular, so I got on that. The name is Divdurv.
I think I am gonna have to dig a little deeper to get ahold of some of you. I might creep on by.

Final Fantasy XIV
Posted 12 years agoFirst I'd like to say hello to everyone who might be reading this. Hi, how are you?
I've been playing some FFXIV lately, mostly with my roommate, to see if it's something in which I'd like to invest more time.
Anyone playing? Anyone wanna play with me?
My PS ID is tacuacosmico... or Tlacuache, I can't remember which is which. If you add me lemme know who you are.

Katatonia and Opeth concert, thoughts on Boulder CO
Posted 12 years agoLook! I'm writing a journal that only two people will bother reading! :D Fuck yeah, gueyes! The laptop I'm using randomly sends the cursor to random parts of the text so there might be humorous and retarded typoes everywhere.
We arrived in Boulder Colorado maybe 3 hours before the show. We ate pizza, smoked a lot of fucking weed. Interestingly enough, I didn't dip into my personal store of pot during our two-day trip; it was all my bff's work, so cool, bro. Also! Surprisingly I didn't imbibe any alcohol during the two-day trip. We went up with 7 people and came back with 8. All friends of mine, and I was squished between a chubby girl with blue hair and a chubby dude with greasy hair the 4 hours it took us to get home.
I mostly went to the show to see Katatonia. I feel I have more of a personal and emotional link to their stuff. Maybe it's because I can relate to their lyrics a little more and I find myself moved by their music moreso than Opeth.
However, Opeth was the headliner, and in between cigarette breaks I found out why. Both bands put on very good shows and gave me and two of my companions very sore necks from headbanging and dancing. Opeth is a very playful and energetic group and they interact with the crowd. Yes, so i danced a little during Opeth and I had a lot of fun. I was unaware of how much a comedian Mikael was and I loved his funny little banter he did with us. Jonas of Katatonia and Mikael of Opeth both seemed to appreciate the crowd and thanked us. Mikael gave us shit for smoking pot during the show, saying that he was 'getting the munchies' because of the weed haze. Fuck... yes... he loved every second of it I'm sure.
Sure, I was a little star-struck by Jonas and Mikael and I wanted to hug them both. Kat played "Lethean" and "Day and then the Shade" which really pleased me quite a bit. Opeth let us folk in the crowd sing along to the first bars of "Drapery Falls" and basically teased us all. Unfortunately Opeth did not play "Harlequin Forest" and Kat did not play "Increase" or "Onward into Battle" but oh well.
Fucking awesome show!
So while I was in Boulder I had time to compare this city to the one in which I live, Grand Junction. Higher altitude, cleaner air, a noticeable culture and a much more predominant economy. I swear, breathing Boulder air is more pleasant than the air here in the Grand Valley... unless you like breathing industrial waste and human crap. It is hard to compare until I have spent time outside of GJ, but being up there closer to the Gunnison Gorge and the snow really helped me understand.
I don't -hate- the Valley or GJ. On the contrary, even, as some of my favorite areas I've ever been to are Loma and the Colorado National Monument (particularly Bangs and Devil's canyons areas). However, it's pretty dead here. Maybe some of you know of my urge to travel and move around. Nothing truly ties me to one area (not friends or family), and I have this almost insatiable drive to explore and meet strange humans. So I dunno what to do about it. Maybe I will instigate some kind of progress in my life soon and make something interesting happen; I do want to stay in Colorado, primarily in the Gunnison River area.
In the course of my writing this journal, this fucking piece of shit laptop has managed, somehow, to transport me to THREE DIFFERENT JOURNALS OF MINE SO I HAVE TO BACK CLICK, haha yay human technology!

iPod Statistics
Posted 13 years agoI'm not sure I actually like the iPod device or its seemingly retarded programming (easy for me to bitch), but it has served me pretty well for the past 7 years I've had it, providing massive amounts of fun and entertainment on many hours of driving and flying, working, hiking, walking, biking and playing for all the other hours through the day. For a long time I run it 24/7 on repeat throughout my days and nights. It's no wonder the battery is so wonky.
So, after a few scary moments of thinking all my data was gone, it finally took the biggest shit it could. The library archive, or some shit like that, was corrupted, though the files were all still present I tried many ways to fix the problem, which did not include actually asking anyone (because it would require a conversation with someone which I don't overly care for, especially when it comes to electronics as I've noticed that many people, in this regard, all have something different to say and they are all know-it-alls, and fuck those people, you know who you are) and ended up just wiping it after being stopped at every fucking turn.
So (again), I lost 12,500+ songs. No so bad, I lost a lot of stuff I didn't want anymore, but also a lot of stuff that really sucks to lose. All my classical/baroque music and all the operas are now gone. Pretty much all the progressive rock (Floyd, Rush, Yes, Crimson, Opeth) and some of the ambient music I like so much (lost most of my Budd and Eno collection, though all the Roach and Rich are still on the computer).
Before this happened I compiled a list of stats I noticed on the songs, here they are:
~Oldest added: "The Pale Folklore" by Agalloch, added on 5-22-2006. The whole album, I think it was the only thing I added that day, followed by the rest of their stuff.
~Most plays: "2/2" by Brian Eno, 487 plays. Although it is my favorite Eno composition, the reason for so many plays is because I used to listen to the Ambient 1 album on repeat all night long every night, and occasionally during my waking hours when I was in the mood for super minimal ambient. The album is kind of tied with all his other stuff and Harold Budd. Also with Mike Vanportfleet's "Beyond the Horizon Line" which had somewhere in the neighborhood of 250-300 plays for the same reason. Right now, "Night is the New Day" by Katatonia and prolly Steve Roach's "Streams and Currents" have the most plays, I'm sure.
~Longest song: "Slow Heat" by Steve Roach, 1:11:14. I think he and Mr. Rich both have longer tracks, especially when performed live, but this is the longest on my iPod. This excludes operas, plays and lectures.
~Shortest song: "Gooey Lose (loose?)" from the Kirby's Dreamland 3 soundtrack, :03. It was hard to find a true song, as most of the short tracks I had were little 8/16 bit diddies from various soundtracks. And other than that there was "The Ballad of Richard Nixon" by John Denver at just 6 seconds of silence. Not really a song, per se.
~Number of Skips: "1/1" by Brian Eno, 51 skips. I found it interesting that the runner up to most skips was the song with most plays as well, Eno's "1/1". I would often only want to listen to only one of these tracks as they affected me differently.
The song with No Plays and most skips was Fear Factory's "Back the Fuck Up". I am a very big FF fan but this song is just rap-flavored vocal diarrhea, I would say it is the band's worst track of all their catalog; I've listened to it once and never again after. It's just purely bad song writing and poor style decision.
That's all, hope someone found it interesting.

Agalloch - other shows in Colorado
Posted 13 years agoMy best wishes to the victims of the Aurora shooting and those close to them. May they all rest in peace. I have heard hours of news on this topic on NPR and read through many of the articles I manage online. Personally, I dislike getting my news from the internet in general. The term 'massacre' is certainly not warranted.
I attended the show on the 17th, seeing Agalloch along with Velnias and an interesting group called Taurus. Very awesome! I can die a little happier seeing these wizards performing their spells onstage. Also got a cool shirt.
Other Colorado shows happening here on out through the year are Dead Can Dance, Katatonia, The Devin Townsend Project, Rush (actually in Phoenix), My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. These are just the ones I've managed to find so far. I am either gonna miss seeing some of my favorite music groups or spend loads of money.

Zammuto and Explosions in the Sky
Posted 13 years agoI saw Zammuto and EITS live on the 6th with some friends. Both were worth it and both had some very interesting stuff to offer.
Personally, I fucking loved Zammuto's stuff. I found it to have quite an exciting and groovy sci-fi feel. I do enjoy Explosion's music, too, but even after seeing them live I still don't quite "get" it. I guess I need more time.

I'm playing Civilization V on Steam...
Posted 13 years agoIf any of my old friends here want to play with me. I figured I'd try a multiplayer game out (other than hot-seat) before I get sick of this addictive shit.
Steam account name is: Plexadonn.

Where is Plexadonn?
Posted 14 years agoI haven't heard from him in a long time, I haven't felt his mind or his presence within myself in a long time.... hell, a year or more, at least.
I have been fearing, lately, that he truly might be dead. That somewhere in space and time he has finally fallen. I know that he almost literally cannot die, but he can be -killed- and he can voluntarily end his own life (this latter scenario is very unlikely, as he is very much like me in some regard).
If he, at some point, left his home planet, theoretically that would make it easier to have a mental connection with him (as the planet physically dampens psionic energy in organisms), but it's like he's completely disappeared from me.
I fear, even more, that he has been contacted by one of the Aeona, and she told him I exist, of who I am and how I basically created him. I can understand how it would upset him.
If he's dead, I will be sad.

Gotye and more Fairport Convention

Currently gushing over Gotye's stuff. Fucking love it :)
Also been listening to more Fairport Convention, 60's - mid 70's stuff.

Another Denver show I missed, Plaid
Posted 14 years agoI am beyond furious with myself, I missed not only Katatonia and Opeth, but now Plaid: a group that I like collectively more than Deftones -and- Cold, no joke whatsoever. The only way this could get worse is if both Dead Can Dance and Lycia got back together and toured with RUSH here in Grand Junction. And I wouldn't be surprised.
What a loser I am :O Immediately bought their new album, of course, to recompense for what I have done. I think I have no choice but to put myself in massive debt so I can see them in Oregon on the 26th (I think).

My long-term goals are simple and few
Posted 14 years agoNo school, no career, for the love of all that is holy and pure no more fucking relationships...
I want to come home after work to a quiet, peaceful house and sleep without excessive amounts of loud noises and lights going on and off all night.
Ideally I'd like to live by myself away from people, up on the Mesa would be the best, but really all I need is my roommate's friends to pull their heads out of each others' asses.
Am I whining? I think this is a very common problem, so probably.

Dreamcatcher, Pet Sematary, The Gunslinger, It
Posted 14 years agoI've recently finished these books by Mr. Stephen King. I enjoyed all of them, especially the high tension adventures like "Dreamcatcher" and "It". These are the first King novels I've read, I'm very ready to read more.
I can clearly see why a lot of people would not enjoy his stuff, particularly his writing style. His use of slang kinda fucks with the mood sometimes.
I've always watched the film adaptations of all but The Gunslinger (doesn't exist... yet), and even enjoyed the movies for what they were. It was actually watching "Dreamcatcher" that made me wanna read the book. It was pretty spooky at times, but like the other movies, were devoid of the truly horrifying and intense things read in the books.
I'm also interested in reading up some of Dean Koontz's stuff.

Opeth and Katatonia show that I missed in Denver
Posted 14 years agoOh god fucking dammit. The fact that I missed the Opeth and Katatonia show in Denver recently gone actually makes me sad... I kind of felt a lurch in my stomach and almost cried. I will be making up for it by listening more, I guess.
On the bright side, this is the worst news I've had my way in many months.

Kittens are fun.
Posted 14 years agoOur cat, Kidda, gave birth to five kittens a few weeks ago, and now we have six cats running around. They so much fun to play with :) When they all start gathering around mom for nursing and they all start purring, it's like she forms a super kitty engine system, like a kitty hyperdrive powered by purring. So awesome.
Cold "Superfiction"
Posted 14 years agoJust bought it today, like the good little Cold Army soldier I am. Haven't fully grokked it yet. Anyone else listening too?
Generally I'm very eager to listen to any new Cold material and can appreciate it. I'm enjoying Ward's more flexible singing style, so far.

Opinions on the Dodge Stratus
Posted 14 years agoI'm considering buying this vehicle, 2001 Dodge Stratus, the sedan model. The car is in fairly good condition and I've already driven it around, and the seller is a pretty straight forward, honest dude. Asking $2000. About 110,000 miles, I think.
Basically what I'm asking is if anyone has experience about this car. Also, I -have- been doing research on it, I simply like to have a variety of perspective. Seems like a reasonable price for the model.
