I'm frankly stunned by the response to my commission form, and I really appreciate the interest showed! I've already started working on some and have reached out to others for clarification, so if you haven't heard from me yet, you will soon!
I'm still working on a "write one, rough one out" schedule, but my goal is to have all of these done before the end of August. I'll be trying to keep this list updated for public reference:

There are not first come, first serve! So please feel free to take a bit of time on your idea!
I used to base my rate on word count, which proved clunky for both me and commissioners. So, after some private experimentation, I'm trying this new format: a standardized length! 1500-2000 words has proven to be my "sweet spot" when it comes to prompts like these, getting right into the fun without needing to organize a larger project. Thus far it's seemed to be a really good approach, so I'm going to try and take a few more slots if anyone is interested! (I might return to longer-form pieces in the future, but I'm trying to be realistic with what time and energy allow- I don't want to keep people waiting like I have in the past!)

It's been a while since I provided a proper update!
2022 was a really rough year for me personally, and I unfortunately didn't have the capacity to write all throughout it. Starting in 2023, I eased my way back in with some personal work and a couple small trades that I've posted here, and I finally hit a stride toward the end of the year. I felt comfortable enough to test the waters with a commission opening on Bluesky & Twitter, planning on extending that opening to here, but wound up being totally overwhelmed with the response from those two sites alone (which I can only thank you all for- it's truly humbling!)
I've been operating on a "complete one, rough one out" workload schedule which has been working thus far, though does mean some folks will be waiting a bit longer for their pieces. I'm very sorry for that, but I promise I've been working as diligently as time allows! (Do NOT look at my playtime of Persona 3 Reload, but if you do understand P3 is my favorite game and I deserve this)
If you have any questions about your submitted prompt or want a status update, I'd be happy to share it! And if you're interested in a commission and missed this batch, I promise I'll open again in the future!
In the meantime, I'll be updating this queue as I make headway:

First off, I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming response on my commissions last month! I didn't know what to expect, so I was totally bowled over by the volume. I had originally planned to just do three (and so far I have, they were just posted!), but I adored everyone's prompts and couldn't help myself from taking on way more. I communicated a rough timetable to most of the folks who responded, and thus far I'm still keeping up with my "one a week" schedule, so we'll get there! In the meantime, should anyone with a pending commission need to update or change anything, please do not hesitate to reach out!
Given that my current plate is full, new commission requests are currently on hold. But I'll be sure to update everyone when they're live again! I'm pleased to report that I think this new approach is working a LOT better for me, and I'll get into a groove of accepting more defined batches eventually. In the meantime, thank you for your patience and understanding!

Commissions Open! Toyhouse! Third Thing!

The pricing model has changed to be a fixed cost for a somewhat fixed length. I've been practicing a more open-ended approach to commission work, and streamlining like this has helped me not spend as much time counting words as I am writing. A couple friends helped me beta test the approach and it went well, so I'd like to try the system in a broader scope!
Also worth noting, these are NOT first come, first serve! I'd absolutely love to accommodate everyone, but I have a bad habit of biting off more than I can chew, so I'm limiting myself to three slots for the time being. My aim is to do about one a week, and if I can manage that, gradually pick up more! And of course, any feedback is appreciated- I'm still kind of new to this!
Beyond commissions, I've also been working on my personal fiction, and have tried hosting some of it over at ToyHouse: https://toyhou.se/Duino
I'll get my profile looking a little more fancy eventually, but it's been nice having a spot to dump character lore and references. I'd also like to eventually set it up as a secondary writing gallery, and tested the feature with a piece that explores how Duino and Smacky met! Updates/Hello Again!

So... it's been a minute, and I'm very sorry! I originally closed for NaNoWriMo in November of 2019, and made it to a handy 28k words. I stopped because I seriously wanted to retool my world and experiment with storytelling styles, which I spent the next few months doing. It was all very fun and rewarding, though an eternal work in progress- I'm still fiddling, even now. But by the time I was ready to work for others again, we hit The Bad Year.
Needless to say, my productivity hit an all-time low. I fell into a pit of stress and online gaming (you know, as you do). But recently, I've been able to hit a point where writing is fun again. Part of that came in the form of trying fanfiction, which I'd actually never written before. But it really helped unrust my gears. In fact, two of the pieces I'm posting today are based on my roleplay character in FInal Fantasy 14. (it's not exactly cartoon antics, but I still think they came out nice!)
I have a few promises to keep regarding outstanding commissions requests, and I'm very excited to work on them. You all always give me such great ideas and I hope I can do them justice. I'm also looking to open commissions back up fully soon, so I hope you'll stick around!

Commissions Closed for NaNoWriMo!

The past two months at my job have been absolute insanity, so I've had to put pending commissions on the backburner. I want to thank everyone for sticking with me! As of this moment, I have three projects that are close to completion. The current plan is to finish them all this week, and then take some time to prepare for National Novel Writing Month.
I tried NaNoWriMo last year and managed about 18k words on my story. I had also taken my first commissions in that month, which were an honor, but I want to really buckle down and put all my energy into personal stuff this year. I might post a passage or two as I progress, so I should have plenty to share along the way!
I'll be taking the first part of December off as well, as I'll be attending MFF and taking a break! I'll be open for smaller projects soon after that. Thank you all for your continued support and interest, and I'm available if you have any questions!

Thank you all for such a warm welcome over the past month! I'm extremely happy to say I've gotten much more interest than I was expecting, and cannot thank you all enough for taking the time to come say hello!
I've been working at a rate of about a story a week for the past month, with the last two weeks being dedicated to larger private projects. As such, I've hit a backlog in requests, and want to announce that I am CLOSED for commissions at this time. If you have submitted a form prior to this, you are still in the queue and I will be working on your piece soon! My goal is to have a totally clear queue by the end of May.
As it stands now, I have four projects pending, with a potential fifth. I have done outlining on all of them already, and will complete them in the order they were received from here.
If all things go well, I will be reopening commissions in June. I've gotten some excellent feedback on my commission process and am hoping to refine it further. Thank you all again for showing your support!

This is Duino, here to satisfy all your fiction needs! Pardon the mess as we get our shop up and running- entrepreneurship is one of the few skills I haven't absolutely mastered quite yet.
I've been doing freelance writing for folks on and off for the past few months, and wanted to throw some of my favorites in a gallery where it could be shared with everyone. I'll also be taking on commissions for more written fiction, so please, come at me with any and all ideas!
I'm looking to take on a few small projects to start, and will be expanding from there. Cartoon hijinks and slapstick are my favorite things to write for, but I'm willing to try just about anything! So drop me a line and I'll drop something back on you! (or something nicer, I guess that's how businesses are meant to work)
