Hi, is this allowed anymore?
Posted 3 years agoThe following pieces of art (CW: vore) https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47124341/ https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47166668/ were made in a way which I haven't seen elsewhere.
I start with making a really tiny image by hand (example, CW vore https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47124575/), and then I use software which upscales the art while also keeping the edges sharp (LetsEnhance and Topaz Gigapixel were the two I used in each of these respectively).
I then add details to the upscaled art, and upscale again, and add details, and upscale again... I repeat this process until I'm finished.
That is to say, I alone came up with both general and specific details about these pieces (the characters Flygon and Servine are actually Nintendo's, but that's beside the point).
Only the edge sharpening was done using AI -- edge sharpening which would have been the vast majority of time spent by be to make these, had I done it all painstakingly by hand.
The difference between how I upscale and simply resizing the image is that resizing the image will make a blurry image because all the computer does is interpolate the pixels.
LetsEnhance and Topaz Gigapixel, on the other hand, are designed to expand images while keeping edges sharp.
Neither is intended for use as an AI art generator, and are instead for simply expanding images while keeping edges sharp, and that's exactly how I used them.
The new submission rules here https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10430887 ban "AI" among other things.
I feel as if those who wrote these rules were trying to take aim at art which was made entirely without any by-hand input, in which case, I agree.
Any and all art made entirely by a machine (even if there's some text input) should be very clearly labeled as such, and not be anywhere near where someone could mistake it for something that someone put their hours of hard work into.
But the lack of distinction between art upscalers and actual AI art generators leaves the above two pieces of art in a disputed area.
I really had spent hours creating each piece, yet still used an upscaling algorithm to help me make them.
I worry that these new rules mean I need to delete these submissions, because of the AI-assisted edge sharpening I applied along the way.
Maybe I'm worrying over nothing, and maybe I'm just in the denial stage of grief.
I can't tell.
TL;DR This art is not entirely AI-generated; they're hybrid pieces made via detailing and upscaling and detailing and upscaling and detailing, and so on. I did the parts which did not involve sharpening the image; all the other details are mine. Can I still keep them up?

Asking about image algorithms
Posted 3 years agoSo, you know how some of the art in my gallery was made by progressively adding detail as I make the art larger and larger, like this https://www.furaffinity.net/view/42503494/ and this https://www.furaffinity.net/view/41690218/ and this https://www.furaffinity.net/view/40306739/ ?
While I do like making art with this method sometimes, it's a pain to need to sharpen all the edges that are supposed to be edges on every step of upscaling. I have looked for ways to either use algorithms which others have created, or to make my own image upscaling algorithm that preserves edges, both to no avail. (In the latter method, the paper I've tried using didn't explain its method all the way, so I couldn't replicate it.)
Does anyone on this website know of any algorithm that can do this?

i'm sorry
Posted 4 years agoFor over a month, I had a submission posted on my account which featured a Pringles can committing an act of vore. This was wrong -- not because of any broken kneecaps from the bizzareness of the image, but because Pringles is owned by Kellogg. Every second my image was up was only generating free ad revenue for Kellogg, which is why my image was terrible and should not have been kept up. (For background on why supporting Kellogg is bad, the labor union BCTGM had previously staged a strike on Kellogg over poor working conditions; Kellogg then responded by seeking to replace all 1400 people who had been striking.)
I promise each one of my watchers that I deleted my submission the moment I connected the dots, and I also promise to not draw vore art of any Kellogg product until further notice.

My pronouns are it/its, effective immediately
Posted 4 years agoFor undisclosed reasons, I don't feel as if identifying as male makes sense anymore. So, please do attempt to avoid gendering me as such. I'll try not to be strict about this until, at earliest, after I change the gender of each one of my posts from "Male" to "Other/Not specified" (because I understand how that might be confusing -- also seriously, who the fuck reads journals anyway? Not me)

I'm BACK after almost one year of disablement! However
Posted 6 years agoAll of my vore art is now tagged as Mature. I didn't wanna get people asking why I did it, just that I no longer felt comfortable labeling certain artworks as General. My new rule of thumb will be that if I'm comfortable showing an artwork to any random kid, it's General; otherwise, it's Mature.
It still is the case that I don't show any sexual parts/fluids in my artwork, even if it is Mature. But, vore alone is enough to make art Mature in my gallery from now on.
Okay, see ya~
