Furry Smut tearing me up
General | Posted 2 months agoOh man, I haven’t cried to a story in a long while. I am glad I found enjoyment in furry smut by reading some of the Fang stories. I am reading my second book full of short stories and this books theme is about paradise. Spoilers for Heavenly Flesh by Slip Wolf.

But what got me going so emotionally, was a lover of someone who was going through emotional turmoil. Changing their appearance, I assumed this was an allegory for Trans, but it was a lot more when I learn this person had something taken out of their mind to hide something. A lost lover in transportation. Leaving them emotionally missing something. They tried to take their life, but their bear friend and psychologist helped by taking that part of their memory away. Leaving them missing something. The bear realizes this and finally tells them what happened. Their friend is mess and can’t remember their lover. So, the bear sacrifices himself and let their mind die and body alter so their friend can feel whole again with their lover.

With all the things going on in the world
General | Posted 3 months agoIts been a while since I posted a journal or just wrote about myself.
Things seem really sucky in the world(mostly an understatement). I just wanted to share what I am doing and thinking about what is important right now. For now I want to support anyone I care for and even those I don't, I always try to be kind to them.
I have definitely made mistakes, most Id rather not go into now, but I want to help anyone where I can. I am trying to support local food places because I enjoy sushi, wings and pizza. I want to support any LGBTQ2s+ places and individuals wherever they may be. I want to support my local furry group with events they are planning. I want lend an ear and offer snuggles to anyone consenting to it.
This is the stuff I want to do now, because I do not have all the power, but I want to do what I am able to do. The things I listed above I can do and am able to do. And this doesn't include what I do at my job as a paraeducator. I support children and coworkers who know very little about me. Because I want to show them kindness and support their wants and needs.
I guess there's a reason I am in education still to this day even when I am too scared to run my own classroom out of fear of the public knowing I am a sexual individual with a male mate.
Thank you for reading and make sure to always to be kind to even those you don't know.

Trying something new, Japanese Translation
General | Posted 3 years agoSo for the last few months, I have been working on improving my Japanese translation ability. I have been trying to improve my vocabulary and grammar as much as possible. I have been using my copy of Pokemon Shining Pearl in Japanese to translate the Pokedex entries into English and its been great to build my vocabulary. Recently, I even tried to go from English to Japanese on my fiancé's comics to see if I could do it. It is more challenging, but may seem doable.
I hope to maybe see if at a point, I could work my way in translation as a career choice.

Life in Alaska 2019 *TMI questions
General | Posted 6 years agoSpring is upon us and tourist season started yesterday.
I've been up to the usual. Work in Early Childhood Education Monday through Friday.
Going on pokemon go walks daily sometimes twice a day. It's my new fun time with exercise.
Lastly, I've been playing through Final Fantasy 10. I've made it further this time since I'm playing it on the switch.
*If you have any questions, I love sharing unless it's too personal. Haha X3

Being Sick Yeah!~ and life update
General | Posted 10 years agoSo yeah sick again. I havent posted on here, thinking no one other than my bf really reads this stuff. But I'll try every once in a while.
Sick for a second time this season , but we'll see how it goes, how long it lasts. A teacher invited me out skiing this weekend, I may take him up on it, since I dont have any plans especially since its my birthday weekend, but I end up working on my birthday...
I've been watching a lot of Dr Who. Any fans other than my bf here? And I've seen only through season 3 of the new stuff. Finished the Christmas special aboard the Titanic.
Work is work, got a new Japanese manager in October, sometimes things are okay, but yeah overall, he seems too busy and doesn't listen much when I speak, so I might as well hold that talking for the students than the teacher. He likes to focus on business and doesnt really like kids, so yeah...
I also started to teach some English for free, but I get Japanese lessons for free too. This is just in addition to my Japanese lessons every week I go to.
Current
Games:
Mario and Luigi Paper Jam, Final Fantasy VI, Hyrule Warriors 3DS.
Tv Shows: Dr Who, Code Geass (I'll return whenever I feel like eating Pizza Hut again-need to watch sub/raw to get this)

What do people think; about teaching Japanese to people
General | Posted 10 years agoI'm an American who has studied Japanese for almost my whole life and I have been exposed to it since first grade of Elementary school. As I've been living in Japan for a while teaching English, I started to think about maybe wanting to teach Japanese to people who want to learn it. I was thinking of when I have time to start trials and see how well people feel i do at teaching it. And in a few years make it a business if it goes well. So I want some opinions from people.
1)How interested are people in me learning Japanese?
2) Would people be interested in learning Japanese from a non-native Japanese? (My way of thinking is to teach like the conversation aspects, teach a bit in English and in Japanese, like explain the grammar in English and focus the conversation in Japanese)

The (Not Really) Naked Jostling Festival
General | Posted 11 years agoSo life in Japan has been swell for me. I had a nice day trip to a mountain village with a 1200 year old tradition. Where men jostle and shove each other in a special kind of underwear to be the first to pray to a god of wealth and war. While there I got to see people carry large candles where if you got close you could see the wax on their skin. Ouch, yet also quite nice on the skin. I like to put wax on my skin cause it always felt nice after. But back to the festivities, I ate some wonderful food, some seafood, some flavored potatoes and even some deep fried cheese sticks. All delicious foods to have. I enjoyed the sites too, some swell looking guys too. hehe, I guess that's the gay side of me. looking at guys hairless chest haha. ^^ Sorry, I know im taken. I hope my friends and others enjoy these journals of my exploits in Japan. I hope to post more as I travel around.
Rules Reguarding money (could offend people)
General | Posted 11 years agoI will henceforth not give a cent to people unless i've met you in real life, which for this site would only three people. If I chose to get a commission that is fine. I understand that, i have to pay. But I also hold the right to not give money even if I know you in person. Just cause you need it doesn't mean you cant handle the consequences of not having it. The world isn't always a kind and just place. One of my Japanese students advice when going to Washington DC was to move fast to prevent the bad guys from getting to you. He of course at the drinking party happily acknowledges there are good and bad Americans which he put me as a good one. But his negative experience in Detroit made him feel there aren't great people in this world. I know this and I don't blame anyone who has ever asked for money. Its a necessity sadly in our world to have it to live. A sad truth, but I don't want people to feel bad about needing it. I love you all and care for you all so much.
Two Kinds- feelings after reading (No Spoilers Surprisingly)
General | Posted 11 years agoWow what can I say. This was a great read that grabbed me early on. First this started with an image of two characters showing a homoerotic scene of imagining the other in his underwear I showed to my friends. With the advice of friends, I started reading it. I’m glad I did and it only took 4 days of focused reading to catch up. I could only imagine some situations being difficult for current readers who would have to wait weeks for them to get resolved. For me, I could easily read through these making my life easier. I enjoyed this comic and I’ll continue to enjoy it.
To people who haven’t read it, it may be worth a look, but is not intended as a gay romance as I assumed it may be, but its an adventure of characters interacting in a world filled with hate, discrimination and secret pasts. I recommend this read for the story and to see where it will take you. In these last few days I couldn't focus on work very well with my mind so engross in this story.

Been a while, sorry, but it was my birthday recently.
General | Posted 11 years agoMy birthday was spent having lots of fun at Joyopolis Tokyo since im huge Sonic fan.
I had a wonderful day, today. Today was my birthday and I spent the day in Tokyo, particular in the Minato ward around the Odaiba area. I also went over to Oimachi for the closest Seiyu I could find. I found some American chocolate like Hersey's stuff to give to my students. Also found a burger king at the station who wants to try a whopper in Japan.
My dinner was at Tokyo station at a Belgium bar/restaurant where I can say Abbey beer is the best beer I've tasted. But yeah the atmosphere was quite nice and I'm glad I stumbled upon it, not too crowded and the music was relaxing .

The Last Hobbit movie and the end of an era.
General | Posted 11 years agoIts so interesting thinking of the last Hobbit movie from where we all started with the Fellowship of the Ring in 2001. Now 13 years later, I have finished watching the last Hobbit movie. It feels like the end of an era almost. But also, its a time to look back on those 13 years in my life. I entered high school in 2003, first went to Japan in 2004, graduated in 2007, went to Japan for an exchange in 2010, Graduated with my first degree in Japanese in 2011, then went back to school to get an Elementary Education Degree. I don't think in 2001, I was thinking of where Id be now. To be in the snow drenched country side of Niigata. So many people, so many experiences in those years, its like in those 13 years, I too have been on journey, like our heroes. Thanks for all of those great people in my life, where you've made life a journey in itself.
A pokemon ending done right. *Spoilers for ORAS ending*
General | Posted 11 years agoYou know with the ending of Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, I really feel like it was best recap we've been offered in pokemon. It was a recap that was very personalized to me and my game. I mean not too many people probably had a Froslass let alone a shiny Feraligator on their team. HaHa. But I loved the ending because it showcased key moment on my Pokemon journey starting with helping the professor to my first rival battle. Then on its way to the championship fight, the ending it showcases all gym battles and a Pokemon used on that fight. I loved how my Magcargo beat Steven in the end. haha, so great. But it was this showcase that made the ending very personal and why I really loved it.
Sure I loved how fire red leaf green showcased areas, but it did show much more. I could really recollect on the past weeks Ive been with the Pokemon game and I'm really glad this was how Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire Ends.

Living in Japan so far (New job, a 3DS, and no friends)
General | Posted 11 years agoSo I've been living in Japan for over a month now. And I will get my first full paycheck in a couple weeks. Yeah. A full months work, so a full months salary. In my time, it has been a bit difficult getting settled and getting used to my job. I've had some slip ups especially when it comes to remembering all my students name. I would say that in this month, I've gotten a lot better at knowing who my students are and im very pleased to hear this.
Outside of my job, I bought a new 3ds in japan to play smash bros and to get the new Pokemon remakes coming out this month. I'm stoked for all of it for sure. Lots of wonderful games. Also, I streetpass people like crazy, but I don't seem to meet them more than once yet.
The only downer right now is that I haven't met any friends really. On Halloween, we had an adult party where we went out drinking after, but they are so infrequent and basically the job says you cant interact with students outside of class. Which is a bummer, but I understand its a liability for the company. Even this go out with students isn't allowed to happen, company wise, but since we're a small branch, my branch manager says its fine and I personally like it too, as it builds bonds between teacher and student. I feel in time, my friends will increase. I had a random stranger talk to me at a crosswalk in Japanese and we talked about where i was from and how Halloween is different in america than in Japan. It was nice and very unexpected. This really shocked me, but it was nice to have happen.
