Fetlife Group!

If you're a suiter, artist, art enthusiast, or just about any other type of FA user, and you like ponyplay, feel free to shuffle on over to the Fetlife group so we can show you off!
Although our group here is great, obviously FA has some limitations as far as community-driven groups go. If you guys want to talk to one another, you're essentially limited to journal notification, shouts, and the note system. Although these options are great for one-on-one communication, I'm sure some of you guys are just chomping at the bit for some actual discussion opportunity!
Although the IRC group is always up, we understand that not everyone is willing to install a separate (and admittedly outdated) chat program in order to use it. There's also the problem of idle time being quite frustrating since we are a small community.
Fetlife offers us the opportunity to have more of a forum-based community instead! You do have to create an account to post there, but the good news is that it's free to use and very easy to keep private.
Don't worry - Fetlife, like FA, is NOT a dating site, but is primarily a social network to be used sort of like a kinky myspace or facebook. You can fill out your own profile, post images, etc. and get together with others on your own posts, plus it makes it really easy to actually get to know people and join up at events. (We WILL be posting con get-togethers starting in late 2015 for Dallas, at the very least, but you can advertise for your own meetups there year-round if you'd like!)
Lastly, I know that due to recent updates, a lot of people are leaving FA. Although this group will definitely not be leaving and I only plan to be MORE active with time, I respect and understand the personal decisions that have been made regarding the IMVU merger. The Fetlife group offers those of you who want to leave a way to still interact with the community without using FurAffinity.

The problem is, pony tack is universally very, very expensive. For those of us who don't play often or socially, or who don't have a lot of expendable cash, it can be very hard to build a wardrobe. Nifty pony tails - made by one of our own!

gettingsometail is making neat pony tails for pretty cheap. They haven't gotten their website set up yet, but in the meanwhile, you can email or note them to order a custom buttplug or belt with pony tail attached! Looks like they make other species' tails as well, so you have lots of options.
This is a great deal at £35+ for a belted tail and £55+ for one built off of a buttplug. Other sellers tend to price at twice as much, and they don't custom-make them, so you should definitely check gettingsometail out if you're in the market for a new one.

One of the general favorites is Fury Fantasy, over in Germany, and there are many more in the UK. But a lot of people forget that there are smaller companies in North America as well, and they deserve love too!
Please feel free to plug your own gear if you're an artist/smith, especially if you have an Etsy account or something similar. You're welcome to offer up used goods you have for sale, too, if you're trying to get rid of those beautiful almost-new boots that pinch just a little at a trot.

This is a website where you used to be able to sign up and be registered as a pony. Unfortunately it is no longer active, but it is back up in museum mode, so if you needed anything off the site now is probably the time to get to it.
If you are interested in something similar, The Slave Register is a similar idea but isn't specific to ponies. You can still sign up and get a registration 'identification number', which many sub-types like to have turned into a bar code and engraved on a collar, tag, shirt, or even tattooed on their skin.
