Long time no talk. I'd like to just put it out there I now stream somewhat regularly over at https://www.twitch.tv/matchasrgl (links to my page are also in my profile bio).
I play games and have lovely chats about game releases, streaming software and hardware, and stories from a D&D home game I've been playing for over 2 years now.
At the time of this writing I'll be playing the game Pyre a little bit later today.

It's been a long time since I've checked back into furry world. For a time I felt I needed to take a break and get a grip on myself and life outside of the fandom and whatnot. I'm still active as ever on Twitter for day to day things but not much else in the way of complaining about the weather and school.
So, I mean to make a comeback soon. I've left you all wondering for far too long what I've been up to since Da Bawks disbanded. Mostly been fixing friendships, forging new ones, and improving myself which to say in the least has been very rewarding. I guess the next step is to lay some groundwork for all the ideas I've had on hold.
We're gonna shake off the rust and dust and get right back to it so, I hope you'll bear with me as I start anew. Just gotta work out the kinks first, okay? 👍

Matcha

1. Matcha was born out of my interest in "those shark puppy looking guys" while I was at Further Confusion one year.

2. His coloration came from my design for a Halo 4 SPARTAN soldier whose primary armor parts were a faded green with white stripes and accents. I had used this design before with a canine character that was originally going to be my intended fursona.

3. Matcha's real name is actually Knave E'veat. He changed his name after getting to Earth as a "gift to himself".

4. The character was raised amidst lots of war and conflict. Despite this, Matcha turned out quite level headed and calm with a "go with the flow" attitude. This was out of need to constantly move on from one place to another as part of a migrant clan. You just don't stay attached to material things man.

5. Matcha is trained in combat but is very much against war. His favorite saying "It is better to be a warrior in a garden than to be a gardener on a battlefield" kind of embodies him.

6. While the creators of Matcha and Neala are a couple (irl), the characters themselves have yet to have any written piece that confirms a "ship". It's just kind of implied anyway, so that's safe.

7. Matcha likes the internet a lot. Even before leaving for Earth he was fond of digging up articles made by others and writing back despite being lightyears away from the source.

8. Matcha is named after the creator's favorite kind of tea, a matcha green tea late. (with soy plz)

I finally got done the chapter that was giving me trouble. It kinda shows.
Also the longest chapter so far and full of more.. violence. Never said it was gonna be an all happy story.

Ever heard of Friendsgiving? Like surrogate family 2nd Thanksgiving with just homies? I totally get to host one of those this year and I'm so happy.
Not everybody gets the chance to get to be with people they wanna be with for the holidays, sometimes let alone people at all.
Kinda nice to open up the doors to second family and chillax.
Why am I writing this again? Bored. Bored. Bored.

I've had a struggle with my mind about the chapters I'm working on for Sergal Story.
Stay tuned guys. Translating brainwaves into words is tough sometimes.
Oh yeah and I'm totally gonna do short story commissions in the future. Mind made up. Yeah. I might even have a few gift ideas in that regard so that'll be way fun.

Yeah so I started publishing my personal writing junk here on FA and got the idea from a few friends
that I should do commissioned short stories for cheap. Like, real cheap.
So as soon as I finish the current story I'm working on, I guess I'll try out a few "gift" stories and then
try opening slots for commissions. Sounds like a plan? Yeeeeeah this might be really cool. I feel pretty
confident about it and hopefully people trust me with their characters enough to come up with cool stories.

Just a note here, however: Not gonna be doing NSFW stuff. Too many hurdles and pitfalls with that right now.
I don't deny I could do it but I'm not really interested in that line of work... yet. So bear with me and you'll see
some cool shit, yeah?

Gonna level with you guys and be a bit serious.
You ever find yourself in that deep dark hole of depression? It really gets difficult to go out and do the things you wanna do.
Then everything seems so dumb and pointless and you just can't find motivation anymore.
You get burnt out and people just keep asking about you so you reassure them everything is okay when it really isn't.
That numb feeling really sucks the life out of you and can affect your quality of work, your friendships, and especially your home life.
It can be very hard to fight those feelings off and get back into the groove of things.
Sometimes you might not realize what you're doing and push away the people you love.
Thankfully, help comes in all kinds of forms. Sometimes it's a gentle reminder and other times it's an abrupt awakening.

I just can't stress enough.. Don't push away your friends for good. Staying in that pit is sooo not worth all the empty space you're gonna leave your friends with.
Gotta keep that chin up and help yourself help you get better.
You climb out of that pit and just wonder why you ever let yourself get stuck in the first place once you breathe that fresh air up above.

Just gotta go back to school, go back to work, go get some help, and go back to the things you love, just like what I'm gonna do.

Not much adventure to report really. Tomorrow I might hit up downtown Chicago again and then I'll catch my flight back home to good ol SoCal.

I'll be in and about Chicago for the next day or two then I'll be on my way up to Wisconsin to visit family. It's been nice to see my sister after a long time. She's fared through boot camp pretty well and is adapting to navy life pretty well. Nights are pretty dull here and I guess that's why I'm journaling now. If I'm gonna keep my head, I should occupy myself with something to entertain myself or else this vacation is gonna get pretty dull. Communication over social media is limited and the data connection is patchy. I'm almost considering just going full blackout to save my batteries. The only thing that seems to cooperate with me outside of the hotel Wi-Fi is twitter so I'll keep up with the updates there. Tomorrow I'll be touring the skydeck in downtown. Gotta get some sleep now.

Today I lost my job at the office. I was asked to pack up and go home.
Some feelings I'm currently experiencing include: Regret, depression, hopelessness...
I dunno. Something in me knew I wasn't gonna last there long. I was ready to walk out last week but thought I could keep finding work to do.
It probably would have been better to resign rather than be asked to leave.
So now I'm feeling kinda down because for once this was a job where I didn't have to punch in punch out as part of a corporate system or anything. I wasn't slaving away at someplace I really didn't care for. I made friends and stuff, I promised to grow.
I just couldn't keep it up I guess. Now I'm back to looking for the next best thing.

I'll be okay in time but damn do I feel like I've let down some people.
Back to penny pinching again.

Things aren't really ever as bad as they seem and life has a funny way of making things work out.
Maybe it's just me but I just nod and go with the flow, most times stuff turns out okay.
Six months ago I was financially unstable, lonely, and seriously lacking a sense of purpose. I drank too much, I stayed up faaaaaar too late playing games, and I just drifted trough the motions of waking up and going to a job where I nearly broke my back every day only to come home to an empty house of sleeping people. I was nearly broke all the time trying to pay for rent and I'd have to get friends to pay for my meals or just bear though the hunger...
It was pretty bad and I didn't really know it because I had become comfortable in that repetition.
Then a big dumb fox and bunny showed up and handed me a camera and some ideas and I instantly gained a redefined sense of purpose.
They showed me a community like a black hole and I tumbled into it. The rest is history.

So long boring story short: Just going with the flow got me where I am now pretty much.
Following Ace around to work got me a stable job where I feel welcome and challenged to do well. I now have a stimulating hobby of making weekly videos with good friends where I get to go out and do the thing I've always wanted to do for a living. I'm in a committed relationship as a direct result of my internet hobby. I have money to spend on food and the things I need to stay well. Just.. yeah.

Things are never as bad as they seem. Stick with the flow and you'll be just fine. If it isn't fine then you maybe need to think about the state of what you're comfortable with. Sometimes you gotta jump to more favorable rivers to flow with.

aceofheartsfox and sailorolive just got word that we were approved to host a panel at Califur 2015! I’m excited to see all you guys who attend the panel and I can’t wait to show you the things we’ve been working on. It’s gonna be a cool opportunity to meet up, hang out, answer some questions, and play some outtakes clips for your entertainment. This will be the first time I’ve ever hosted a panel before so I’m very excited and very honored I’ll get a chance to have your undivided attention for a good hour or so. That being said, if you guys want something specific to be featured in the panel that you wanna see feel free to send me your ideas and I’ll try to make it happen.
(For example, we’ll play a round of Twister with a member of the audience for a chance to win a prize.)

So a lot happened this week. Still trying to make sense of it all.
Did some more writing on a personal project of mine I'd like to publish some time soon. I'm pretty excited for that since it's the first bit of fiction I've written in a long ass time. I did an awful lot of brainstorming on new script ideas and I'm still trying to sort out all of that in my noggin'.
It was announced this week my sister officially is now a part of the US Navy. It's a big deal to her and I'm so very proud that she's found something she wants to strive for. It's going to be an emotional time since I only get three more months with her before she'll be gone for training and school which lasts anywhere from six to eight years...

I've finally been able to pay off some debts recently, and a new job opportunity has come my way once again. Who knows where that'll go.. Almost anything is better than my current work schedule.

Now for some more emotional baggage..
Yesterday I want back to my late uncle's apartment to help clean it out with my dad. It's so eerie.. I can still hear his voice in my head, clear as day and I just expect to see him lounging at home hanging out with a smile on his face.
I guess I still need more time. Being there makes me think too much.

After I was done moving furniture for the day I met up with my girlfriend for a late lunch at a ramen place and that made things a little better. She knows how to get my mind outta the dumps and I'm ever thankful for that.

I dunno, it's been a long week. I didn't get called into work at all so the my next payday is gonna be a slump for sure. I just wanna nap all this negative crap away and just hang out with friends. I'm sure ya'll miss me as much as I miss you. Don't worry, I'll have things sorted out soon. I don't mean to be a party pooper. I'm kinda scatterbrained right now. Hopefully going to PS tonight will energize my social battery up to normal.

Okay so I guess my page is pretty much set! I'm sure I'll get more comfortable with this platform eventually and I'll be posting up photos and such soon. Who knows, maybe I'll finally write that next big story idea I have or I'll sketch out something cool.
At any rate I'll be hard at work with Ace and Oli churning up new ideas and videos soon and I can't wait to share them with you!
